Overcooked hamburger.
Melanie M.

Simply for the food. It's a beautiful restaurant. Ordered a hamburger medium well as part of a large 20 person party. It was so over cooked. Just burnt ends and flavor less. I think the chef must have been upset about the request. That's no reason to overcook the burger.

We had a great time at this location! Manuel is a fantastic server and I highly recommend him if you come here! The food is great as well! We got the mussels, ahi tuna tower and beef bourguignon. I don't have anything bad to say and it's really hard to pick which I like best! They were all amazing dishes and well done. I can't wait to come back!

My wife and I stopped in for dinner at 9pm on a Saturday night with no reservation and got right in to a spot on the patio. They had a live guitar player setting a nice chill mood. She ordered the Chanel #6 and I ordered the Peche D'Or. Both drinks were good. We ordered the puff pastry truffle which were good but a little dry. I ordered the lobster bisque. It was good, but had very little lobster bits. They didn't have a Bordeaux by the glass but had me try a Merlot blend which was ok. We ordered the Beef Bourgiognon and the Duck. The Beef was huge. It was ok. The duck was good. I topped dinner off with a $15 glass of Taylor Fladgate port, what a deal. Service was good. We'll be back.

I loved the Toulose in Dallas when I went a few years back. This location had bad food and very overpriced. The only thing I liked in the lavendar drink. We ordered risotto, sushi tower, shrimp ceviche- they just were not good. Skip this

Service was amazing and really loved the ambiance. They had a live performer which was great. La grande dame: 9/10 drink was great and really enjoyed the flavor. Loved the hint of cinnamon and the portion size was perfect. Wish there was a little more vodka but loved that it was almost like a slushy.. Steak and eggs: 9/10 steak and eggs were cooked to perfection. The only thing I didn't like was that the juice from the steak made some of my fries soggy. French toast: 9/10 thick and fluffy and not stingy with the butter. Nice flavor and satisfied with the dish. Had to ask for extra syrup as there wasn't enough for the person who ordered but overall they enjoyed the dish. Lobster roll: 9/10 seasoned well but wish it was a larger portion. Crème brûlée: 8/10 fresh berries, nice flavor and the presentation was pretty. It came with vanilla gelato which was good too.

French onion soup was delicious

We've been here several times and it is always a very pleasant experience. Selection is limited, but all the dishes we've tried were good and Service was very attentive and professional. If you're craving French cuisine, give it a try.

First time here and the ambiance was fantastic! Management staff was really attentive. The food was so delicious! Sitting on the patio in this gorgeous weather with a wine - Vivre la vie!

What a charming and beautiful restaurant!!! We stopped here in the middle of the day to grab dessert and drinks. My chocolate martini was perfect.

Toulouse is Fab! - (kinda fancy). Great for date night!! SERVICE: Everyone here was so nice and attentive. They make drinks really fast ;) FOOD: I started with a Toulouse old fashioned and it was superb! Then, the deviled eggs and the Ahi Tuna Tower (so good). For dinner, had the steak frites - very good. If you are in the area...great place...go eat!! (Sorry I did not take pictures of the food)

I came here for brunch, and it was such a cute spot! They had live music, and the performer was really good. We shared the brie cheese and truffle fries. The brie was warm, creamy, and tasted great with the bread. I got the lobster roll, which was super flavorful and came with plenty of fries. The service was great, and I'd definitely come back!

The steak frites! I enjoy French cuisine and the steak frites at Toulouse are just delicious. I don't remember much else from the experience. Service was speedy and the ambiance was cozy. I was seated in the back for a large party and there were touches of France painted around the room.

An excellent brunch spot with a great ambiance. The dishes are beautifully presented, flavorful, and satisfyingly hearty. The staff is welcoming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely brunch with friends or family.

Amazing medovik cake, so good that I would order it as a whole cake on occasion, pricy but worth the splurge! Service is always attentive and the waiters are happy to explain their specials for those not familiar with the cuisine. Ambiance is upscale, they have belly dancing on some evenings and occasional themed parties (never been but have seen so many Facebook invites).

Not too surprising given the cost of beef, just a little disappointing. It's still tender but couldn't beat the old one. Similar experience with the Lagman. More tomato-ey and veggies than beef, but the beef was still good. Tasty soup. I wouldn't try the kholka again. It was interesting to try but the beef lacked flavor and the dumpling top was too thick for me. I ended up just eating the soup and beef and leaving the wrapper. Finally, despite the restaurant being empty on a weekday evening, the music was extremely loud, 65-70dB from our table across the room from the speakers. I have sensitive ears, so it was quite disarming for me. Moreover, the server was quite inattentive. I'm sure he was giving us space when he felt was best but his judgement may have been off. I spent time with waiting for something like water or utensils, or even to order when we were ready. Overall the experience was good - the food really is nice. But I hope the music can be toned down. Or at least some soft elements for sound insulation can be added to the venue. It's HUGE. There's really no reason for it to be so obscenely loud when it's not karaoke night.

The manager greeted us at the door and personally escorted us to our table, which set a professional, welcoming tone for the evening. The preordered appetizers (meatballs, shrimp, and prosciutto with melon) arrived within minutes of us sitting down and were a hit with everyone at the table. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the night, keeping drinks topped off and timing courses perfectly so conversation flowed without interruption. I ordered one of the nightly specials, a Carne Asada steak with chimichurri and fire-grilled vegetables, and the steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Everyone at our table loved their food. Between the great Highland Park Village setting, excellent service, and delicious dishes, Bistro 31 delivered a flawless business dinner experience. Highly recommend -- 5/5 stars.

We started with the Bread Basket ($24), which included a croissant, cinnamon roll, muffin, and a lightly sweet cronut-style pastry. At about $6 each, they may seem pricey at first, but every item was generously sized. Sharing each pastry between two people was more than enough, and we actually ended up taking two of them home. The Fruit Plate ($12) was absolutely worth ordering. The pineapple, honeydew, and other fruits were all perfectly ripe. Their sweetness, flavor, and texture were spot on and arguably some of the best-tasting fruit I've had at a restaurant. My husband ordered his favorite, the French Dip, while I chose the Niçoise Salad. The salad was very well executed. The dressing coated the greens evenly without overwhelming them, and the large chunks of tuna sashimi were lightly seared on the surface, creating a delicious smoky aroma and satisfying texture. The white anchovies added a pleasant acidity that elevated the dish. My only criticism is that the potato portion was rather small, making the overall composition feel slightly unbalanced. As for the atmosphere, we were seated toward the back of the dining room by a window with a large vintage-style mirror. The location was pleasantly removed from the family groups and larger parties, offering a quieter dining experience. However, the ornate mirror frame looked as though it had not been cleaned for some time, with visible accumulations of dust. It was distracting enough that I found myself worried about dust falling onto our food. To the restaurant's credit, a staff member promptly came over and cleaned it when we pointed it out. Despite that issue, we thoroughly enjoyed our brunch experience. The food quality was excellent, and I would love to return in the future to try their dinner service.
