    45 Day Dry Aged Ribeye
    Devin C.

I recently made a reservation to celebrate an anniversary at Knife. We enjoyed the service and ambiance, and it certainly had great date night vibes; however, we still left feeling disappointed. The biggest positive was the service. Our waiter had great energy, gave great recommendations, and went out of his way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Since it was our anniversary, they offered us a complimentary dessert, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The biggest letdown was the steak. For a $150+ steak that was supposed to be 32oz, it was extremely underwhelming. It lacked flavor and was very fatty. I typically enjoy the fat on a ribeye, but the fat on this ribeye was inedible. The sides were good, but also overpriced.

Lunch today for our 15 year anniversary was Knife in Plano at Willow Bend. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The waitress was attentive and professional. The first thing that came out was the creamy jalapeño soup. This soup is rich, luxurious, spicy, and delicious and the portion was generous. The onion rings came in a tall stack and were huge, fresh and perfectly battered and fried. They lacked much flavor but when we added salt they tasted great. The steak au poivre and fries were wonderful. The 45 day dry aged bone in strip was cooked as requested (medium rare) but I was worried before I cut into it because it was well charred. But correct inside.

Steak night done right at Knife Steakhouse. Tonight's dinner was on another level -- perfectly charred cuts, buttery-soft centres, rich bone marrow, and sides that actually stand out. The roasted mushrooms were insane, the carrots were sweet with a little caramelization, and every plate was crafted with serious care. Knife Steakhouse is the kind of place that reminds you why great food is an experience, not just a meal. Exceptional service, beautiful plating, and flavours that hit exactly where they should. If you're a steak lover, put this spot on your list.

I've been to this establishment at least 3 to 4 times. The service is always so good. When you're craving a nice steak. The sides and the greens on are on point. The owner is very kind and the server or bartender. Whichever you see that is very attentive and helpful. Always a good go to. I love during the day or when the lighting is right. The patio outside is super cute

Wow! We found this restaurant on Resy when looking for somewhere to celebrate my husbands birthday. Brion was our server and was phenomenal! I really appreciated his recommendations and service. The food though. Wow. Top notch! We started with the bacon flight that came highly recommended and I can see why! It was absolutely divine (unless you don't like bacon and then you wouldn't like it haha) For the main courses I got the Lobster Agnolotti which was probably one of the best lobster pasta dishes I've had! That's almost always one of my go to Italian dishes so that's saying a lot. And they included CHUNKS of lobster which was delicious. My husband got the 45 day dry aged strip (he's a NY strip guy) and he said it was chock full of flavor and cooked perfectly. We added the mashed potatoes and avocado fries to round out the dinner. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had at a restaurant and the avocado fries were crispy and refreshing all at the same time. I do wish the avocado was salted a little more but that may be personal preference. For dessert we shared the vanilla creme brulee which was equally amazing compared to the rest of the menu! I loooooved that it was a thicker an creamier crème base All in all I would highly recommend Knife for a nice dinner/date night! The music inside was tasteful and it wasn't overbearingly loud. The ambiance inside is very moody but in the way you want for a higher end dinner. 10/10 recommend!

Visited this restaurant with a some friends and was amazed by their hospitality, selection of delicious foods. Servers were very friendly with their service and attentive to customers needs. We had a beautiful, lovely with variety of dishes that were very yummy. Desert was my favorite. Prices were reasonable too, would recommend to friends. Definitely coming back to try more menu's. Happy holidays to you.

I was a little underwhelmed with this place. I know this place is more of a dinner steakhouse place, but I went for lunch on a Saturday one day and there was zero people there at 12:30. I honestly thought they were closed but they were open. The mall that it's connected to was a ghost town. I don't know how many places over there are surviving. For the food though, it was really good. I just got a burger because it was lunch. It was a really good burger. The sides were really good too. The food itself was good. I really have no complaints about the food itself. I suppose I just got a bad taste from the atmosphere here.

I want to be clear that this place is very expensive, almost comically, but we were celebrating my birthday and I been wanting to eat at Knife for years. So here we are. It was a quiet Monday night and it felt like we had the restaurant to ourselves. The dim lighting provides a very moody ambiance, kinda felt a little throwback to the rat pack era. You always forget what exceptional service actually looks like until you come to a restaurant a Knife. Our host, waiter, and bartender were all top tier. Quick shout out to our bartender for making some exceptionally tasty and balanced cocktails. The bread basket to me was an interesting flex. It was kind of off-putting when our waited arrived at our table with this massive basket of bread for our choosing. All the bread was fantastic but I would avoid the biscuit. Even though it was good, it wasn't hot and no one wants a room temperature biscuit. The Mac and Cheese for me was almost great. The quality of the pasta was good as was the flavor of the cheese. However the cheese sauce was broken in my mac and cheese. This happens when you incorrectly reheat a cheese sauce. I could taste where the cheese actually separated from the sauce and it created a grainy texture. The sleeper side was the roasted okra! Our waiter even said not many people order it and it's a restaurant favorite. It was soooo gooooood and not slimy for all you okra haters. Now for the main event. We ordered the 45 Day Aged 44 Farms Rib Eye medium rare. So was the steak delicious, yes. Was it $145 declious? Meh not quite. The best part was the bites of the crispy edges on the exterior of the steak. What an epic bite of food. However, it was still cold in certain parts, and yes I realized it was ordered medium rare, but a cooked steak shouldn't be served cold unless that's how you want it. Also there was some gnarly fat and gristle buried inside the steak that wasn't fun to eat at all. Would we come back and try other things, absolutely. But at these prices, it would have to be for a pretty special occasion.

Went there for a special Valentine dinner it was great from the friendliest staff to the great bar tender but would add they need to add Guinness to the offerings we had a Caesar Salad to split my wife had the tenderloin and lobster tail for what the tail cost $75.00!It was meh but the steaks were excellent I had the skirt steak perfectly prepared as were the best ever onion rings and avocado fries loved every min the restaurant has a modern grill vibe will definitely be back

Excited to try this place and thought restaurant week would be a good time. Went on a Friday around lunch and it was pretty quiet in there, which is fine. Our waiter was sweet but the food was a little meh and the experience felt a little boring. Felt like it started off good, but sorta went meh in the main course. My first time ordering an espresso martini and that was delicious. We ordered the creamy jalapeno soup which was spicy (no complaints, I love spice) and served piping hot. Then I had the NY strip and mashed potatoes. Now I get it, restaurant week...things are supposed to be cheaper, so maybe a little smaller, but I felt like it was a sample portion. They served it on a huge plate and so it looked very "sad" and meager on the plate. The steak was slightly overcooked. I asked for medium rare and it was medium at best, pushing MW. My friend said the same about her steak. A different friend ordered the redfish and that was a better choice than the steak. Great crisp on the fish. We opted out of appetizers and dessert, so maybe this wasn't the best experience there. If you go, order from the regular menu not the specialty menus.

Came with a group for lunch, it was my first time. For the price, it was not worth it. Extremely overpriced restaurant. The food was good but not worth the price.

240 days dry-aged Akashi bone-in ribeye 32oz shared by 2. Med rare, perfectly cooked. Nice char on outside, tender inside, bold flavors

Husband and I were in Dallas area for a week, and we are glad we tried Knife Steakhouse in Plano with friends. Our party of four (us and two friends) ordered several dishes to try: - Starters: Bacon tasting, yellowtail, tuna tartar, and Caesar salad as starters - Sides: Pommes puree, onion rings, wild mushrooms, roasted brussel sprouts & cauliflower - Entrees: Two orders of 240 days dry aged Akashi bone-in ribeye 32 oz (suggested to share by 2 people) Everything tasted really good. The stand outs were the bacon tasting (5 varieties) and the 240 days dry aged steaks. The steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare, nicely charred on the outside, really tender inside with bold flavors from the dry aging process. Our mistake was actually ordering too much that we couldn't fully appreciate the star of the show (the steaks) and had to take some home (which made for a great lunch the next day). What's also excellent was the service. We had Jordan, who was knowledgeable with the dishes. We asked many questions...from appey, to sides, to the steaks. Jordan provided recommendations based on our preferences and checked in on us often. When our friend asked more detailed questions on the wine selection, Jordan immediately offered to bring Grant, the beverage director, to come help us with his recommendations to select a bottle of wine, again asking questions to understand the customer's preference (which was a great conversation). The attention to details, service/recommendations provided based on customers' preferences, and of course great food made this an overall excellent dining experience.

If the review were based on service alone, it would be five stars. We started with the chicken nachos, which were fresh and actually pretty good. For entrees, we ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak was very bland and tasted like it was missing seasoning altogether. The sides were okay, but nothing memorable. We also tried the rib plate with corn and mashed potatoes. Again, it was edible, but the flavors just didn't pop, everything felt like it needed more seasoning or a stronger profile to stand out. The staff was great across the board, but the food just didn't match the level of service. Not the worst experience, but definitely not the best food wise.

My friends took me here for my 60th birthday!! Outside of the perfect steaks and stellar service (a great big thank you to Brad our amazing waiter), the music stole the show!! They have this insanely talented musician who performs Friday and Saturday nights starting at 6:30 PM .. he literally has his stage on a landing pad halfway up the staircase with his own little music kingdom. One guy. Several instruments. Electric guitar and saxophone were played effortlessly. You can make requests, which adds to the fun! For example, "Sweet Caroline" was a song that everyone sang along throughout the restaurant lol. Then came something I didn't expect. This musician has made it his personal mission to play our National Anthem on Fridays and Saturdays 7pm sharp. Everyone naturally stood -up, the whole room joined in, hand over their hearts, so much patriotic passion and energy. It was truly beautiful to see people come together in that moment. And just when I thought the night couldn't get better, out came a birthday dessert .. a warm homemade cookie with ice cream and a real sparkler. It was a show stopper!! I haven't seen a sparkler since I was ten lol. Apparently, birthdays are a big deal here, because it felt like every table around us had their own sparkler birthday/ anniversary moment. It was hilarious ... and I loved it! If you're looking for a memorable experience or just a relaxing delicious meal, nothing compares to Texas y'all. TIP: they have valet parking! It was my first trip to downtown Plano which is a nice quaint strip of bars, restaurants, and shops that reminded me of any of the small one/two stop light towns around my home of NC, even though you're really surrounded by metro Dallas highways and city. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was perfection. I'll do my best to describe, but if I was creating a restaurant, I'd tell you to go here, and that is what I want. The restaurant itself is very nice, certainly upscale enough for a super nice date night, but also casual enough at lunch time for a business casual outfit. The area itself is relatively small and intimate, I'm going to guess 10 or less tables, and a spot for a few people at a small bar. Right beside the bar is the grill where you can see, hear, and smell the food being cooked! The owner was our waiter, and just like the rest, service was plenty formal yet also laid back. He did everything how you'd expect in a fine dining restaurant, but also was comfortable in a baseball cap and laid back fine with having a conversation. He was happy to tell us about the restaurant itself, the interior which he built out himself, and was enthusiastic about what he was serving and told us everything about the meat and sides. It was great seeing someone so proud and excited to tell his costumers about every aspect of it. He alone would make me want to be a regular visitor. But then there is the food! Perfection! All four of us ordered the Wagyu NY Strip, so he just told us he would serve it on a board with plenty of sides to fill us up. We didn't even have to tell him how we wanted the steak cooked, he said everything was cooked to 135 and it came out absolutely perfectly! Quality tasty meat, true wood flavor, it was what I normally have to cook myself at home to get! The sides were great as well, charred broccoli (which I'm a sucker for, marbles potatoes, fries, all wonderful! The menu is not huge, but I think that's perfect. Do what you do well and you don't need a multi page menu full of random dishes. BAR-Ranch knows what they are and they excel at it! It's not cheap, but personally I'd rather have one meal of exceptional quality over multiple cheaper meals that leave me feeling "meh that was fine". Personally I'll be back and can't wait for another opportunity to try it!
