What a great lowkey bakery in the seaport area! Found this spot on uber eats and had to give their sundaes a try. They're small but so worth it! Delicious and filling. We also had the Dubai brownie which was more like a cake but still hit the spot! They're had a lot of other flavors for their sundaes that I'll be back to try as well as a wide variety of cakes. A must try if you're in the area!

Layers Bakeshop has outdone themselves yet again with a 3rd custom cake that I've gotten from them this year alone. I got the Biscoff cheesecake yet again & I swear it just keeps getting better. The cheesecake is creamy yet not too soft & the right amount of Biscoff spread (for a lack of better terms) is given. Also, every custom cake exceeded my expectations as well & they were designed perfectly. All in all, I plan on going to Layers for many years to come as quite frankly I know I'll never be disappointed.

WOW. These cupcakes are PHENOMENAL!! We were staying at a hotel nearby and found Layers on a complete whim. I've heard about them on Instagram and was not disappointed. They live up to the hype and more! We picked up four cupcakes to go - we got a Ferraro rocher, double chocolate, biscoff, and chocolate cream cheese and they were so delicious! The chocolate ganache is unreal and so so good! I wish there was a layers closer to me! The prices of the cupcakes are also so reasonable for what you get. This is more of a takeout place than a sit down spot. The lady at the counter was helpful in helping us narrow down our choices since I wanted one of everything! Please open a spot in CT!

Everything here tastes so good! Just make sure if you order for delivery heat it up a tiny bit, tastes even better--more homey. The blondies are to die for. They're perfect and taste just as you would imagine but better because it's in cake form and the frosting is the secret.

Very reasonably priced for this area. The space is clean and the guy in the store is pleasant. There are many flavour options nothing gluten free though.

Cream Cheese chocolate, strawberry, pistachio and vanilla: all vanilla cake.

Our go to cupcake spot. Chocolate flavors are divine, while the others are ok. We come back all of the time :-)

The young lady behind the counter has to work on her attitude and must wear gloves when handling food.

Not bad. The cupcakes were of good quality and I liked the pastry cream they use. Not overly sweet but still rich.

Okay I was cracking up about my experience here because I literally asked the dumbest question to…read morethe guy working but he was so nice and explained the answer to me until I understood! So fun fact they are now advertising Banana Pudding Hot Chocolate and it is NOT actual hot chocolate but banana pudding made to taste like hot chocolate. Why I got so confused? I don't know! Maybe I have been watching too many videos about Tyra Banks Hot Ice Cream. Either way I appreciate the guys patience and kindness when explaining it to me twice especially because I did not end up ordering that at all (though it sounds interesting) but I did get the regular actual hot chocolate and it was amazing! It tasted like melted marshmallows were in it! Perfect for a cold winter day. In addition we got to the humming bird cake, a cupcake, and the regular banana pudding. My husband had never been here before so you know we had to get the banana pudding, it's their claim to fame. And it is decent. Growing up in North Carolina banana pudding is taken very seriously and is literally at every gathering. Would this be a contender for the cookout? Sure! I have no complaints about. The other baked items were delicious as well. The store is cute unfortunately this location has no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor. It was like negative degrees when we went so we definitely did not sit outside. All and all it's a cute bakery/ sweets shop. There are many locations through out the city. I've been to others and it is consistent. It's definitely not a bad dessert spot to try.

Let me start with the positives, because there were some. Daniel was excellent--polite, attentive,…read moreand gave solid customer service. Credit where it's due. Now for the madness. Another employee, Kirk--an older gentleman who looked completely out of place--approached and coughed directly over the slice of cake that had just been cut for me. Yes. Over it. At that moment, I honestly wondered if it was intentional. A young woman nearby immediately caught my reaction and went to the back to replace the slice. She handled the situation professionally and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the chaos continued. Kirk later made me a hot cocoa, and when I went to drink it, it spilled on me because the lid wasn't secured properly. At that point, I stopped believing in coincidences. And the cake? The German chocolate cake was terrible--dry AF and nothing like the Grand Central location. Not even remotely close. Between the coughing, the spill, and the subpar cake, this visit was uncomfortable, messy, and disappointing. Magnolia should seriously reconsider who they put on the floor and retrain accordingly--because this location is not living up to the brand. But honestly, I believe the 2 guys had to be the owners. I love a good watch but rolex's while serving Desserts is WILD

While I'm not the biggest cupcake fan, they have a nice selection of cakes, bars, and other things for pretty reasonable prices, especially in Midtown. The staff are also friendly. The most recent time, I got a Ube Buttercake Bar for $4.25, or something very similar. As per the name, it is made with ube, or purple yam, and it has a slight purplish hue. It was just a bit rich, had a soft texture inside, and had a very mild ube flavor with a bit of vanilla. The dessert was decent, but not strong enough of a ube flavor for me to buy it again. Much better was the Brookie I got the first time for $4.50 or so, listed as a blend of their Ooey Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar and Fudge Brownie. I was happy that the chocolate chip part was dark chocolate, and it wasn't overly sweet. Otherwise, it had a nice mix of textures, with some soft and crunchier parts. I liked it a lot more. The prices here are decent enough, and the quality isn't that bad. It's not a place I would go out of my way to go to, but it's nice to be nearby if I want to pick up a snack or something similar. I would probably try a slice of cake, or another bar such as their lemon or dream, next time.

Buttercup Bake Shop is my neighborhood bakery, and I appreciate that it stays open late. The…read morechocolate cake slice I purchased was moist and delicious. Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. The employee behind the counter did not greet us or offer any assistance while my friend and I looked at the display. When we decided on the chocolate cake, she sharply asked, "Which chocolate cake?" as though she were annoyed, so my friend had to walk over and point it out. The store was not busy, and both of us noticed the unfriendly attitude. The slice was also $7 and smaller than the portions I have received there before. For that price, customers deserve both a good product and welcoming service, especially since people often visit bakeries to celebrate happy occasions.
