The quality, consistency, and experience have kept me coming back year after year. Everyone is always so kind and welcoming, the salon is clean and relaxing, and my nails always turn out exactly how I want them. I absolutely LOVE the owner/manager and just love the atmosphere that has been created here. It is unlike other nail salons in the fact that there isn't loud talking ( well, depending on how talkative the other clients in the space are at the time), but for the most part no cell phone conversations by techs or patrons, no obnoxious music, just truly a great environment. I actually get reading done when I come here for services. I have been seeing Michelle and feel as though she truly does a great job. My first visit to this location for a…read moreShellac pedicure was stellar and I absolutely enjoyed it, though the pinky toe polish did chip off completely within 1 to 2 weeks. I figured that was just a fluke, so because this location is close to work and convenient for my lunch break, I came back today to treat myself for my birthday ahead of my upcoming vacation. I explicitly told the technician I was there for my birthday and planned to spoil myself with a manicure right after. This second visit was a completely different story and one of the worst experiences. There wasn't even a callus where she was working, but she scraped the area so aggressively that she cut completely through healthy skin, leaving me bleeding. She tried to pretend she didn't see it, even though it was incredibly obvious and right in front of her face. I am not one to make a scene, so instead of yelling or demanding the manager, I pointed the injury out to her directly, and she looked shocked. The manager did come over and appeared to question her about it, but nothing was ever said to me. Honestly, I probably should have stopped the process and walked out right then, but I was just ready to finish up and get out of there. When we finished, she asked if I was ready for my manicure, and I politely declined. There was no way I was letting them touch my hands after that. To make matters worse, she didn't even offer a Band-Aid for the bleeding and expected me to just put my shoes back on over an open cut. I had to ask for the salon's disposable slippers just so I could get back to my office to clean the wound and patch it up myself. Despite the injury and the complete lack of accountability, I still paid full price for the service and even left a small tip just to exit gracefully. I went to Nailed By Em expecting a nice treat, but I left feeling completely ripped off and deeply frustrated. This was, without a doubt, the worst nail appointment I've ever had. First, despite having an appointment, I was forced to wait for 45 minutes past my scheduled time. Emily herself was the one who kept me waiting, constantly rushing between clients and leaving me sitting in the corner with no communication other than a hurried "almost done." This completely threw off the rest of my day. When I finally got to the table, the service was hurried and poor. I asked for a simple acrylic fill and a standard gel color. Em seemed distracted and rushed the entire time. The resulting shape was uneven, the polish was sloppy around the cuticles, and there were visible bubbles trapped in the gel. When I pointed out that two of my nails were visibly crooked, she just sighed and made a half-hearted attempt to fix one of them before declaring she was finished. The hygiene standards also seemed questionable. The tools felt like they hadn't been sterilized properly, and the entire station was covered in dust from the previous client. The air was thick with harsh chemical smells. The Final Charge The shock continued at checkout. Em charged me an extra $15 "removal fee" for my old polish, which was never mentioned when I booked the appointment. On top of that, she automatically added a mandatory 18% tip to the transaction before handing the machine to me, even though the service was clearly terrible. I ended up paying over $80 for a manicure I will have to get fixed somewhere else. Save your money and your time. Do not go here. This tech is disorganized, unprofessional, and the quality of the work is a joke.
