I was overcharged. She definitely took advantage of there not being a sign with prices listed, and my being in a rush. I got double French tips ($10) and needed two nails fixed (couldn't be more than $6) leaving $29 for a REFILL? I came here because the place I usually go is a little further out and I didn't have the time, and based on reviews, the price was good. I'm used to paying $65 for a new set (which isn't cheap) but this wasn't even gel polish, it was regular. She also kept saying I was "making her work" but I don't think my requests were too much, you look at the attached picture and decide for yourself. This was also after I waited 45 mins because they were completely understaffed. There were only 3 people in the salon. I was going to go back in there and share my disappointment but I figured I'd just share it here. I wish I could because this is MY neighborhood, but I won't be going back for any reason. I do like the shape but because it was a refill, she can't even take credit for that. That's not the way business should be conducted. UPDATE:::: Just called and was told a refill is $20. She told me the French tips were $10. Making the two fixed nails $15?? With the tip, I spent $52 for a refill with regular polish.. a rip off! read more

I'm quite picky about my nails and due to my previous nail tech's move to California, have spent the last 6 months trying to find someone who could give me exactly what I was looking for (without me having to go home and reshape or going to one salon for refills and another for polishing...yes, I'm serious). I took a chance on this spot in my neighborhood and I could honestly kick myself! I've been driving ALL OVER Houston looking for what was basically in my front yard! They don't even deserve 1 star. My services included an eyebrow wax. She put wax on my eyebrows and the wax was way too hot and pieces of my skin were removed when she ripped off the strip. I told her when applying the wax that it was burning and she said my skin is too sensitive, but I get my eyebrows waxed often. Instead of stopping and allowing the wax to cool a bit she continued to wax the other side. After she finished the cleanup she applied an antiseptic that really burned. I am really upset about how service turned out, but I still payed for it. I'm leaving this review so no one else gets scarred. Hopefully my face returns back to normal. They pissd me off until I had a glass of wine to cool me off. I have been here before but I don't understand if you ask to soak off your shellac they use a drill. I was in a rush so I let her finish but I was boiling hot after she drilled the shellac off the top Of my nails. Now they are very thin and breaking. I am bot happy at all with their job with my acrylic nails, they are way too tick, there are bubbles, some parts of my bails were not even cover. I just moved to Houston last year, and I had been trying out different nail salons. This was my first time coming here, and the owner was sooooo sweet to me. I've never had a nail technician/owner be so sweet. My nails look amazing, and the shape and color is perfect. I'm SUPER picky and I've NEVER found a nail salon that I'd go back to. I like Lilly's. It's close to the TSU campus and they always do a great job. They also make a mean margarita! The issue with Lilly's for me is, the owner is the only lady that people want to be seen by. The other staff seems unknowledgeable or timid. I had one lady start my nails and the owner had to finish because she was causing me so much pain removing my acrylic nails. Same with the lady next to me. I called for an appointment to get my nails done on yesterday and when I walked in I was attended to right away. I was asked if I wanted a pedicure as well. I mentioned that I was in a time crunch and didn't have time to do both. She offered for them to do both at the same time and I agreed to it. I was offered a beverage. I opted for a glass of wine. I guess they all do this now. (But if they keep serving this cheap wine, I will have to start bringing my own) But it's cute. Anyway, my pedicure, nails, and eyebrows turned out very nice. The prices are reasonable too. I met the owner and her attitude was great. I could tell she has genuine appreciation for her customers.
