She didn't even bother to ask what kind of pedicure service I wanted she just went straight to the basic one. 2. She was done with the first foot in less than 10mins 3. I was going through a lot of anxiety and health issues and had the worst looking nails in the world. Embarrassed to even go to a salon, I read about Jeanie and decided to give her a shot. I called in and said "my nails are horrible but I would like a full set with colored tips and a pedicure." She joyfully and honestly told me tips can be hard if the nail is too short but asked me to send her a picture of my nails. I texted it to her as we talked on the phone, along with a picture of what I wanted. She joyfully said "oh, I can do this!" Haha. So sweet. Given the condition of my nails she told me she recommended a gel base to make my nail look longer below the tip. She was very transparent about how much that would cost. She said she likes being upfront so that no one wastes their time. I really appreciate that. I came in a few hours later and she already had every color picked out. I felt like a celebrity. She sat me down and cut my cuticles and made my fingers look pretty. Meanwhile, Lan came over and started working on my toes. I had really bad Ingrowns and Lan was SO patient and caring. All three of us had a blast talking. They're simply so sweet. I couldn't be happier with the result. The final cost for everything was $80 but I left $100 because it was the best nail service I've ever gotten. I would recommend this place to everyone but please be nice to them. It matters who your nail technician is. I went to Neon Nails for the first time for a simple manicure/pedicure and a lip wax on the recommendation of a colleague at work. I had no issues with the lip wax (nothing fancy, but it did its job which was to deprive my lips of hair without damaging or burning my skin) so the rest of this review pertains exclusively to my mani/pedi. I called at 1:00 pm on a saturday, asked if they accepted walk-ins, and they said they could see me at 1:30. I arrived promptly at 1:30 pm, as they requested; I waited 15 minutes before I was brought back to a chair, and another 15 minutes before a technician came to work on my feet or toes. This is a basic nail salon so I am not expecting luxury frills here. And I do want to point out that the place was very clean, all implements were sterilized, and the nail tech worked very cleanly throughout the manicure and pedicure process. That said, the reason I go to a nail salon in the first place is for the components of a manicure that are difficult to do yourself: well-shaped nails , properly trimmed cuticles, and most importantly , a perfect polish job. that means the polish should cover the entire nail bed without touching the cuticles , the sides, or the top of my finger; the polish should also be evenly applied with no bubbles , and the top coat should also completely cover the nail bed, not stop short simply because you're in a hurry and you think no one's going to notice because the top coat is transparent. That is not what I got at Neon Nails today. The nail tech that worked on my feet appeared to do a reasonable enough job ; upon closer inspection after I got home, however, I saw unevenness in the polish -- I do have ridges on my nails, but a good technician should've done a better job of buffing them down or using ridge filler. She also missed a couple of spots where there was still a little bit of top coat on my toe. I was charged $2 extra for what was supposed to be the higher quality OPI nail polish (they did ask in advance, and I was perfectly ok with the extra charge, but the assumption was that the result would be better than with regular nail polish; not so). The nail tech that worked on my hands took a long time, which normally I consider a good thing because it means that they are being detail oriented. The manicure included a neck, shoulder, hand, and arm massage , which was very good: she did more than simply apply lotion and work it in, actual massage was involved. Sadly, the massage was the highlight of my manicure. I have short fingernails that don't go past the end of my finger; the nail tech said they were hard to shape/polish was difficult because they are so short. I do not buy that argument, because (a) I have had others successfully polish my short nails without issue and (b) my toenails are equally short yet there seemed to be no trouble today shaping and polishing them. I brought my own fingernail polish, purchased at a different nail salon (so it is professional nail polish). This polish is more sheer than the standard OPI polish, and requires applying thinner coats for it to come out even. A nail technician should know that just from looking at the thickness of the nail polish, certainly at minimum after applying one coat and seeing how it performs. This tech applied at least 3 coats , 4 on some nails, in an attempt to make it look "even"; so it made the polished look overly thick (which defeats the purpose of the thinner, more sheer look). The polish stopped short of the edge of my cuticle, something she also did with the top coat: so you can clearly see where the top coat ends and uncoated nail polish begins. This has nothing to do with the quality of that is 100% technique. Similarly, she did not do a meticulous job of cleaning off the excess because. All in all, my fingers looked like a student did them. But by far the experience that left the worst taste in my mouth: My bill for the mani/pedi and lip wax was $50. I tipped 20%, (industry standard); the fingernail technician asked, "is that the total tip for all three of us?" Not wanting to make a scene or appear cheap around other people, I changed my tip to $10 per person which in hindsight was egregiously excessive (we're talking about a 60% tip here), especially considering the quality of the service. One can argue that I overcompensated. But the point is that the technician should not have asked for a tip adjustment at all; the whole point of a tip is that it is discretionary and dependent on the quality of the service. Otherwise, just charge higher prices and pay your personnel appropriately I am not sure whether I will be returning, but if I do, I will request different techs than the ones I had today. read more

I've been coming to Neon Nails for yearsss and can not recommend this place enough to friends and colleagues! Not only is the price unbeatable ($35 for a mani AND pedi) the service is amazing! The women of the salon very friendly and talkative, they are always willing to accommodate walkins, typically double team a customer for faster service, and massage your shoulders/ neck and feet as a standard feature of their service at no extra charge! If that not enough, the reason I'm leaving my first Yelp review ever is the truly the above and beyond treatment I've received there. I recently was the last customer in the salon and when I got to my car accidentally chipped my nail. While I was sitting there pouting the owner walked out and saw me looking upset, and she literally came to my car door, asked me to please wait, went back inside and came back to my car to repaint and fix my nail and sat and talked to me for 10 minutes, buckled my seatbelt so I didn't have to and then once everything was dry let me leave.
