I used to love Your Nailtime & Spa. They were my favorite salon and I was always pleased with the quality of the work, no matter who I saw. I had become especially pleased with Tim and usually requested him. But no more. Several months ago, I was getting a manicure. There was a woman in the pedicure chair who was just sitting there, not even being treated, and having a very loud raging conversation on her phone. Not only would that be super annoying and rude at any time, but this awful woman was spewing F...k this and GD that... (the salon was full of clients and one lady had 2 young boys with her). She got louder and louder and was impossible to ignore. None of the employees were addressing her completely obnoxious behavior so after about 30 minutes, I leaned up and asked if she could please lower her voice. She then proceeded to cuss me out and told me that she should get ___ to come up and "cut me." No one in the salon did anything to call her out. She finally left soon afterwards. No one in the salon apologized to me or addressed this in any way. When I went back to the salon a few days later to inquire why no one did anything, they said this woman has "issues." No kidding. But knowing that, I have no idea why they would accommodate someone who is prone to create such a disturbance. They told me they were sorry then, but to have allowed her to behave in such a way is inexcusable. Apparently, they went around to alert the other clients about this woman's behavior during the incident, but no one addressed this with me at all at that time. The police really should have been called when she threatened me and I'm sorry I didn't do that before she left. It's a real shame as I was a 2x a month client and had referred many people to the salon. No way would I want to chance encountering such a vile person again during what is supposed to be a relaxing treat. read more

I made an appointment when I arrived on time they asked me to come back in 45 minutes and I did and it was near closing time so I decided to leave. When I came back the next day my pedicure was rushed, the water was cold and nothing was added to it. she was done in 15 minutes and moved on to my nails. They are okay just a little uneven. I do appreciate the fact that even though I was the last person left in the salon after closing she didn't rush on my nails. I will most likely revisit once things get back to normal. read more

No. No. No. I went in for a manicure/powder dip. The lady was nice enough but the quality of the finished product was not good. My nails looked clubby and had dry skin all around the nail (from the acetone). Usually, my hands are soaked and then my cuticles are trimmed. This lady just used a dirty cuticle cutter in her box to trim a couple of the cuticles. I left and immediately went to my normal place.... Pictures say everything. When a pedicure does not last even a week you know there is something wrong. Been a loyal customer for almost two years but the time has come to move on. I have bounced around with different nail techs and they all seem to do the same - in the beginning it's great but then they start to "forget" steps of service (for example the deluxe pedicure has a foot mask and massage, but somehow they seem to forgot about the massage). Or they do not remove the cuticles well and when you bring this to their attention, they act like there is nothing there. If there is nothing there, I shouldn't see cuticles appear not even 3 days later. Despite tipping over 25%, and being a relatively simple client, (all I want it for my nails/cuticles to be cleaned up, and polished) it has happened with Tina, Lee, Tim, Kim, and a few other ladies. Sorry nail techs - I'm not going to continue to point out imperfections and over tip for crap service. Moving on. read more

I have been going here for at least 15 years. I moved to the burbs 5 years ago and end up driving back into town to come here. It is not fancy, you don't get mimosas or the royal treatment, but what you get is consistency. And they are meticulous! This was a bad experience and an expensive one. The salon is next to a gym and we heard, and felt, barbells hitting the floor the entire time. The pedicure and manicure I received was very quick and just ok. My wife had a pedicure and manicure including dipped nails. We spent $190 which is more than we paid are far nicer salons. To make it worse we have only been gone a couple of hours and one of her nails appears to be coming loose. Horrible experience, we won't being back. read more

Shellac French tips! *** perfect shape, $36 lasts me 2 1/2 weeks and they are pickier than I am. Any bubble or blemish and they insist on fixing! Beware: Due to their perfectionism it takes about an hour for French shellac. Tools are in a sealed bag, and they are very careful doing the cuticle trim. No pain at all! Sigh. I'm torn about this place. I received a mediocre pedicure here and the technician didn't do what I asked (straight across toenails for zero ingrown issues therefore I had to fix it myself). BUT THEN, at the same time, I was given an insanely excellent manicure with shellac which lasted two full weeks without chipping or budging. If I didn't need short nails for playing the piano I could've kept rocking those nails another week. I went back today to have my fingers redone and my technician was again excellent. Her attention to detail was exceptional and I loved how picky she was with every step. My only beef was that a shellac manicure was listed at $33 but she charged me $43. Perhaps that didn't include a $10 up charge for taking of the old shellac, I'm not sure. Either way, I'm in love with how my fingers look and feel. I've been sucked in.... read more

Stopped by around noon time on a Sunday. First timer. They had me sign in, i was about to sit and wait, even though they seemed busy, a lady came up to me and asked me to pick a color. I showed them a flower design I wanted on one nail n was a bit disappointed when they said they couldnt do it. So I opted for the shellac with a simpler design. All grey with a thin pink line. They acted like it was a super crazy design which made me laugh but one of them said she could do it. Turned out great but she changed the color slightly which doesn't match my pedi. I was looking for more of a bright pink color n ended up with a dark pink almost purple color. Even tho i pointed out it didnt match she said it would once it dried n was on. Couldn't change it, it was too late, my pedi was done (bright pink) n the first mani coat (dark pink) already went on. Puuuuu! I guess adding the thin line jacked up the price I paid a total of $70 (not including tip) for shellac mani and a regular pedi, I said no to the deluxe spa pedi. I still left a good tip. The mani was impeccable and my pedi cute, feet n hands feel soft n smooth. Will be going again minus any special design in mind (simple or not). read more

It's a weird world we're living in currently with COVID-19 affecting businesses and ordinary lives, including my own. After an incredibly stressful work week, I decided to call ahead and make an appointment with this nail spa, not only to unwind but do my part in helping the economy by putting money in other business. I was very optimistic on my way to the salon. When I arrive, the salon is completely empty so I was happy because I assumed the service would be A1 as there wasn't a stressful atmosphere. I walk in and no one really greets me, they look at me like I'm lost which was super awkward. No one asks for my name so I simply let them know who I am and that I have an appointment. A man runs out from behind and tells me to sit, so I do. I brought my own color so no drama there. I notice that no one offered me anything to drink which was odd but maybe this place doesn't have waters so I just kind of ease into the seat and mind my business. I let them know I only want a simple pedicure but the gentleman upsells me to the delux, to which I agree because I felt kind of guilty not spending on more. They don't have price menus to offer me so I came to yelp to review the cost, which was $39, so I agreed. The experience was a little awkward but I played on my phone and kept a positive outlook. Once it was time to go, about 4 more people arrived so my nail tech briefly ran off. In the end, I moved to dry my toes and noticed a sign that said "free beverages and wifi" :( very bummed I missed out on a water but no big deal. I asked the receptionist for my check and she gave me a receipt that said $49. I let her know that there was an error as I received the delux, to which they said that was the cost. Confused I asked if there was a price increase. They responded with, "no but we gave you wax and that's an additional $10." I was shocked, that information was never communicated to me. The gentleman simply stated that he would like to offer me the delux as it had a longer massage than the basic and some sea salt. I'm writing this review because I felt a bit blindsided and hustled, to say the least, by the attempt to overcharge me on something that wasn't initially communicated. I've never in my life hustled anyone intentionally so it felt pretty ugly to be on the receiving end of the attempt. All and all, my complaints are as followed. 1. I made a reservation ahead of time, walked in an empty salon and was not greeted or offered any beverages. 2. I was up sold, to which I agreed, but then hustled after the fact against my knowledge. Customer service was very poor and I am highly disappointed. Regardless, I still tipped rather well at 18% because that's the kind of person I am smh but I will not be coming back :( Also, my toes have definitely looked better. I'm just sad overall! It was a nice atmosphere, very relaxing. However, it was not cheap. I've had similar quality for the same thing for 30 or $40. Overall, I'm satisfied, but I'll explore other salons in the future. After a $5 tip to each lady, I'm out $77. Edit: well go figure. I asked my mani lady to not use those cutters all over my cuticles. I said it always causes hangnails. She insisted. Today I have the grossest red strings coming from my nails where she decided I had to be cut. Her answer? "I need to do it so the nail polish looks good." Van is the QUEEN of waxing, IMHO (sorry Laura C., but Ann could never get it quite right! ;-) Once switching from Ann to Van, I started becoming a regular for occasional upper lip waxing ($8) and eyebrow waxing (~$11). I love the fact that Van is honest with me, if I do/do not need an eyebrow wax that week. She is very meticulous in making sure that any unwanted hair is not there when you leave--she gets a magnifying mirror and tweezers to get any missed stray hairs, and will even re-wax if she finds that there is a patch that needs it. PLUS, she is actually very gentle, and never hurried. I suggest making an appointment, as she in particular is always booked/busy on the weekends! read more

This was one of the widest experiences I've ever had at a nail salon. The actual pedicure was nice and it came out great, but the women doing mine and my friends toes didn't even try to hide the fact that we hadn't shaved and couldn't get our jeans over our calves! We weren't going to get pedicures that day, but decided to at the last minute. Unfortunately we were both wearing skinny jeans and hadn't shaved in a week or so. Twice they asked if we wanted leg waxes and then would stare at us and talk in Vietnamese. One of them even started laughing a little and looked at my friend real quickly and then looked away. Whatever. Afterwards, my friend was going to pay for me since it was my birthday. She finished first and paid for hers and then when I came out 10 minutes later, paid for mine. Well apparently that was like... The most difficult thing in the world. They somehow refunded my friend, charged her again, and THEN charge her mine. Then when we tried to leave, one of them looked at me and said "you didn't pay!" Omg. What did we just spend 10 minutes doing. So then we have go back and show all of the receipts and then HER BANK ACCOUNT to prove she was charged. Completely ridiculous. Safe to say, we're never going back. read more

I went to Nail Time last weekend for a mani/pedi and must share... Lynn did my fingers (I can't remember who did my toes, but it wasn't Lynn), and it is hands-down not only the best manicure I have ever had, it is the best manicure I have ever seen. I requested a sheer shellac (wanted french, but didn't have time) and she selected the shade. I told her that I liked shellac, but I am not a die-hard fan because my nails grow quickly and i tend to remove it after about 10 days because the regrowth at the base drives me up a wall. What made the manicure so good? You couldn't actually see where the polish ended... it looked like my nails were magically shiny and had a sheer pink tint. It is now 8 days later and you can just barely see the regrowth. She took her time and it will easily add an extra week to this manicure. In addition, there is not a single chip, smudge, or snag. And my cuticles look great. Best. Mani. Ever. Thanks Lynn. I'll be back, and will make an appointment (rather than walk in, which I did last weekend) The pedi was great, but probably a 4 1/2-star review. This is most definitely not a cheap nail salon. What else do you expect though, it's in River Oaks. When I stepped through the doors, the ladies didn't seem to friendly or welcoming. Every time a customer walked in, all the technicians didn't seem happy about it. I'm sure part of it is because it was closer to closing time. The lady that did my nails warmed up through my mani & pedi. She was very meticulous and did a great job. I wanted a Minnie Mouse design on one finger, and this other girl was going to do it. My go-to manicure and pedicure in Houston! I have done several trial and errors to other salons in the area and I will not venture out again. I am here every 10 - 14 days and my nails have never looked better. It's a pricier mani/pedi for others I've seen in the area but it's well worth it in my opinion. They are quick, thorough, and consistent. Highly recommended. I won't go anywhere else. A little advice - I recommend calling ahead and getting an appointment - even if it's just to call them and tell them you're on the way. I find that I get in and out quicker if they know I'm coming. read more
