Firstly, they are by appointment which I like because that means they won't rush and I don't have to worry about people swarming all around me in a frenzy. I came with another adult female and a kid plus myself. They just did an amazing job on filing, shaping, polish ... and my niece (the kid) actually wants to come back! Kim, Jenny and Lan helped us and each and everyone of them were very nice and friendly and just had amazing customer service. I just moved to Houston and finally decided to try a new nail spot. I should have really looked at the reviews before coming to this place as they are all from YEARS ago but DO NOT EVER go to this place. They are basically stealing your money. I went to get a full set, she literally dipped my nails in the powder like 12 times.... i've never seen someone do nails like that in my MANY years of getting my nails done. I asked for chrome, apparently they don't do chrome. My nail lady seemed like she barely knew what she was doing. I asked her to reshape my nails 3 times and finally just gave up. I didn't get a pedicure, just shillac on my toes, powder on my nails (no manicure) and my eyebrows waxed. They charged me ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIX DOLLARS for those services. My mind was BLOWN. I can go to a five star restaurant for dinner for that price. LITERAL THEFT. AND she cut my finger. They were anything but nice, laughed at you as you found a place to sit. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. NEVER!!!!! Way way way over priced for horrible service. This location is by far the worst nail shop I have ever been too. read more

Envision Nails, in between the Office Depot and Sushi King on Richmond, is pretty much the only place that I get my nails done anymore. It's a very large place with about eight chairs that have built-in massagers and a place to soak your feet. There are also probably another fifteen stations for regular manicures and pedicures plus a room for their waxing services. The technicians are very friendly, but not overly so. I hate it when I feel like I have to maintain a conversation when lots of times I just want to sit and relax. The manicures and pedicures I receive here are usually very good, though there has been one or two times that I think a better job could have been done. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but since I started making this my main nail place, I rarely break a nail. They also do chair massages here which are quite good for the money and work perfectly as a pick-me up or when you just need a little something to help you relax other than a cocktail. My favorite thing about this place - and why I always come back - is because they do a phenomenal job on nail design. My favorite is the goldfish that always looks fabulous against blue nail polish. At Halloween, I had a spider on a spider web painted on, which was so fitting for the season. I also had a friend get little yellow ladybugs done against a red polish and they were super cute. If you're looking for something a little different, be sure to ask to see the examples that they have, but also ask them if you're looking for something in particular. The spider I had done, for example, wasn't on there at all. Another plus is that they are open seven days a week and are open until about 7:00 in the evening. Later hours are always good, especially if you're trying to get there after work. The prices here are probably a little higher than I would really like to pay, but with the beautiful designs and the hours, it's always the first place I go. read more

I don't know why people love this place but if you are perceived as a person who can't afford it you will get the worst mani/pedi. I went in while waiting on my heels to get fixed (the business next store is the best when it comes to shoe repair). I asked for a mani/pedi ($55 if you want to sit in the "spa" chair $42 if you want to sit in a ordinary chair and have your feet popped in a basin full of luke warm water) I took the $42, I figured they would do just as a good of a job for either and I was mistaken. The total amount of time they spent on my services was 15 min. No real time of making sure that the nail polish was not on my skin and actually on my nails. I was extremely unhappy because I thought from the clientele they would take pride in their work and they don't well at least not for me. What really did it for me was when the nail technician tells me that I look unsatisfied and I told her I wasn't but it was ok because I would not be returning back. She tells me that my service more than likely was not a good one because they are bias on "my kind" of people. "My kind" do not like the prices and make disgruntle comments and they are bad tippers. Just to begin- I am extremely picky with my manicures but ended up extremely happy with my first experience here. I got a pedi and a shellac and powder mani. As soon as I walked in I was greeted politely and sat down in a pedi chair. I went on a Monday around 3:00 so it wasn't crowded at all. Overall the atmosphere isn't that great for the price and they only offer water- that's the only reason for the four stars. I have been going to Dawn for my SNS manicures now for years. She is very meticulous, and always does an amazing job. I get compliments on my nails all the time! I never request a particular person for me pedicures, but all the ladies do a wonderful job. I also find this nail salon to be sanitary at all times. I have been a customer at Envision Nail on Kirby since 2001. The consistent management has upgraded the salon regularly. sterilization procedures and cleanliness of the salon are unparalleled. As with other similar businesses, there is variability in the skill of the technicians as well as some turnover- but relatively little, comparatively. Most of the techs have a dedicated following. The salon is open 7 days a week, providing availability for virtually anyone. Prices are very competitive. I cannot recommend Envision Nails on Kirby any more highly. read more

This nail salon is very clean and always buzzing with happy customers. Stephanie does an outstanding job on shellac manicures. You should splurge and have her do a shoulder massage while you wait for the shellac to be removed. Her massage is actually better than some high end spas! Ahhhhh. I also recommend Ivy for pedicures. I had foot surgery and couldn't submerge my foot in water - she figured out a way to give me an amazing pedicure without getting my incision wet, plus she was super gentle and took great care in handling my foot. I typically go for it and get shellac on my toes. My pedicure lasts at least a month! I actually get tired of my polish color before I really need to have my next pedicure. This is not an inexpensive place though; shellac mani and shellac pedi sets me back over $100. It's worth it. read more

The women did a good job on my hand nails but I wasn't impressed with my toe nails. Also, I think the massage could have been a little better and longer. Love this place -- I walked in randomly a few months ago since the salon is right around the corner from where I work. They are always busy, which is a good sign, and they always squeeze me in and I'm back to work in-time. I usually get a shellac manicure for $40. I recently got a french shellac and it was $45 -- Prices are slightly higher than other salons, but I attribute that to the Rice Village area and the demand they get. This is a large salon and I was able to walk-in and get seated after only a 15 minute wait ( I actually spent the time shopping at the Office Depot nearby, my real reason for oing to this strip center,) The manicure I received was clean and professional. I just needed my eyebrows tended to but I didn't like the other places I had been because they make my eyebrows so thin even when I ask them not too. The ladies here do exactly what I ask. The first thing that i noticed was a woman leaving with a bag of nail tools. I thought "thats a really smart idea, to bring your own nail file, etc". I later found out that the salon gave you the tools that they used on you to bring back. Moreover, all of their nail tools were brand new or freshly cleaned. Terrible experience. Had a pedi here and it was a total rush job, even though they weren't at their busiest.
