I had wonderful experiences in both Back Bay and Newton locations for lash extensions. A lot has to do with which person performs them and whether you prefer a full, more natural look or the extreme/dramatic extensions. I wanted the former. It can take a couple times to get exactly how you want. My first time lashes were long but sparse, the next fill was perfect, the next was too over-the-top, but they fixed, and I love them. This lash salon is very professional and they have always done an amazing job. I trust all the girls that work there with my lashes. It is worth the price for anyone getting that close to my eyes. I got my lashes done for the first time and they came out amazing. They were exactly what I wanted, length and volume. Everyone was so sweet and I was given lots of tools and instructions on how to maintain my lashes. However, about a week later all of my lashes were falling out. I was taking care of them, brushing them out, not getting them wet, sleeping face up but they were still falling out very quickly. I came back for them to look at and they fixed it up for me but the same problem was happening. I've been going to Lash L'Amour for over a year and a half now, and I constantly get compliments on my lashes. I've seen numerous artists and masters at the Newbury street location, and they all do a beautiful job. I see Tammy regularly and I always walk out feeling amazing, her work is stunning. The facilities themselves are extremely clean and especially with COVID, they have great protocols in place so I always feel safe when I come for an appointment. This place is definitely pricey but SO worth it -- they're the best I've seen. Everything is very clean so I've never worried about anything like that. And my lashes last for MUCH longer than any other place I've been to. I will say that, while everyone there is very good, some are better than others. It was my first time going to Lash L'Amour and it was more than I had expected. I have known Ann and have been following her around for lashes and when she told me that she is at Lash L'Amour I had to go and see her. Ann always knows what I want! Not only does she give you what you want but she also makes suggestions according to the structure of your face. They say to come back every two weeks but they last longer than that for me. I am new to the area and needed a new lash place, when I showed up I had the exact information from my last lash girl about the lashes that I wanted, I shared them with the artist and she just went on to do whatever she felt was best, which was not what I asked for and had to pay $125. I decided to give it another try with another artist because I had a wedding to go to and needed my lashes done, I tried to explain to the artist that I wanted single lashes and not the volume lashes as I feel they don't stay on as well, $135 later I ended up with the volume lashes I did not want, however they looked great... for about 3 days and then they all fell out. I think it is ridiculous to charge $135 and spend 1.5hrs on lashes that only last a few days. read more

I've been wearing eyelash extensions for about 2 and 1/2 years now. I moved to the Boston area about a month ago. I saw all of the positive reviews and decided to give this place a chance. I really wanted to like this place! The pictures were so convincing that I spent 500.00 to get eyebrow and eyelash extensions. My eyebrows turned out ok... However, my eyelashes were barely noticeable. I payed an additional 100.00 for mink lashes. I was told that there would be complementary appt. For 30 minutes to fix my lashes. I scheduled the appt for 5 days later initially. But, by the time my appt came... I only had about 5 eyelashes remaining on each eye. Not to mention my eyebrow extensions turned out to be more tent than extensions. Neither my eyelash nor eyebrow extensions lasted over a week. I would have been fine with scheduling an appointment two weeks after the initial appt. For my eyebrows... but not even a week... that's entirely too expensive! I should have never left with my eyelashes looking incomplete to begin with. If it weren't for the purple hue from the mink eyelashes, you would have never known that I had gotten eyelash extensions. Even weeks after my refills are done, I am still complimented by friends and random strangers on how amazing my lashes look and they all think that they are natural! I have been inconsistently getting eyelash extensions at different locations around the Boston area (Newton, Wellesley, and Brookline) until Lash L'Amour with Heather became my go to. My biggest pet peeve when getting extensions is that some estheticians put a lot of pressure on your forehead but with Heather I can barely even feel her touching my lashes so that I can relax throughout the procedures. From start to finish, she takes her time to work on each individual lash with no noticeable signs of glue. The quality of their work is amazing. I had a set of lashes put on for my wedding and have kept up with them in the months since because they look so great. Having never had extensions put on before, I have no point of reference for the experience here vs. other salons, but I will say each location (Boston and Newton) are super clean, the staff is friendly and the quality is great- I constantly get compliments. I do have one criticism, and it's the availability of appointments. I realize this is due to demand and the number of technicians, but I really wish they had more weekday evening times available at either location. People work during the day and can't make a 5:15 appointment sometimes. The one time I did book very far in advance and finally got a time that worked for me, I got a call from the receptionist about a week before saying the technician I was scheduled with had left the company and they would need to reschedule me. I realize it's not her fault at all, but all she could offer me was 10:00-2:00pm on weekdays, which is impossible for someone who works. Maybe stay open until 8:30and offer people appointments for fills as late as 7:00pm? I'm sure they would get filled. read more

I went here yesterday for a private opening event with my friend who is a client here. They have another lcoation in Newton and just recently opened the Back Bay salon. They offered free services like 30 min lashes, nails, hair and makeup. The place itself is beautifully decorated and has a nice open space and welcoming vibe to it. Not sure what to expect I sat down for a 30 min lash extension. The technician was very good at letting me know what the process was and what she was doing as she went along. The process was painless and when she finished I had beautiful long lashes. The session was an intro session and so only 1/3 of the usually lashes were added to my lashes. I could not feel them on my lids and they were natural looking. I received a gift bag and will be back to we my gift card towards a set of lashes. I did not feel forced to purchase anything and was given after care instructions. I met the owners who were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend coming here for our lashes and other services. read more

They offered me a chance to come back and get a complimentary singles fill upon my request. For this reason solely I bump up the rating because good customer service is half the battle. Unfortunately my lashes still did not last--around half fell out by the end of week one. I've been getting them done for a long time and am used to them lasting around 3 weeks. I take special care to keep them in good condition and even wear goggles in the shower to keep them from falling out!) but i noticed when they fall out that the false lashes are glued on relatively high up on my natural lashes (not at the base). I knew nothing about lash extensions, and they were very accommodating answering all questions I had. They customize exactly the style of lash you want and they lashes turned out great. Monica and Melissa are the two I see. Always super happy with how they real they look. My eyes are sensitive and the adhesive doesn't both me. I made the mistake of booking at Eye Starr bc M & M were both booked. Never will I do that again... Minus 1 star bc I had lashes done at Elite yesterday. It was $100 more than I spend here for a full set but I like the lashes at Elite better. They are lighter, more volume and even more natural looking. I just recently moved from Boston to DC, and I am mourning the loss of Lash L'Amour. Things I loved: -Cynthia, the owner, who did my lashes about every 3 to 4 weeks, did a superb job on my lashes. I have asian lashes that are practically invisible, so they can only hold a certain weight and length before visibly becoming droopy. Cynthia managed to do a great job - selecting the right weight and length. -Reasonably priced -The customer service is awesome. I've been disappointed in other lash places customer relations, but at Lash L'Amour, I feel like they really put their customers' first. -The location is convenient, clean, and relaxing. I have been seeing Melissa for my extensions since 2014. She is that good! She is so talented, professional, friendly and does an amazing job. She also makes you feel extremely comfortable. I have had my lashes done two times now. Once by Monica and once by LeeAnn. Both times I was so happy with the outcome! You can barely tell they are fake, just looks like I am wearing mascara. While lash extensions might be too expensive for me to continually have, I do recommend them for a special event. I never like the way that strip eyelashes look when I apply them myself! If you get these done a week or two before the event, they offer a free touch-up one week after your first appointment to make sure your lashes are full as can be. The process is a little tedious, I would recommend bringing music to listen to! read more

I've gone to Lash L'Amour about 3 times now and my first two experiences have been pretty good. However I just went for a volume fill and I have to say I'm so disappointed in how they turned out. The application was awful and they all started falling out almost immediately after I stepped outside, and they looked very much like a classic set rather than volume despite me telling the artist I like a very full and long lash. If you're going to go to someone, go to Tammy. I had the best experience with her. But other than that I cannot believe I paid $140 for a fill that all completely fell out without me even touching my eye or doing anything. read more

I get lash extensions a few times a year in NYC and DC. I came in for a fill while in town and was disappointed with the lashes. The salon was very upscale and the lash technician was fantastic, but the lashes themselves were poor quality, didn't look very full, and started falling out the very next day. Usually a few fall out the first week, but not 6-7 lashes each day. I'm in week 2 now and it looks like week 7 from my past experiences. I am not using mascara, curling them or rubbing my eyes. I checked my natural lashes carefully before coming to make sure I had enough for it to even be worth the bother, and I did. I've had plenty of refills in the past that looked great. But unfortunately these did not, and they were way too pricey for the result. Disappointed. read more
