This place has become one of my faves after just one visit! I knew it had to be good if my very picky BFF, went there recently, and decided that she wanted to go back so soon for her birthday dinner. And, guess what, she'll be back on Sunday for another birthday meal! Wow. I can understand why.. This place is surrounded by many quality shops.. I am already thinking of a wonderful lazy Saturday shopping trip followed by a meal at La Scala. On this particular Friday night, it was packed. And I'm sure this is the norm. Because of the long wait, we were given the option to sit at the bar and I'm so glad that we did. It was a nice experience.. I like to sit high and get a good view of the whole room.. the TV was right in front of us, and we also had a nice view of the "kitchen"--I like to see how the magic is made. Service was friendly, accommodating, and prompt. We ordered a bunch of items from the apps menu.. and believe me, they were HUGE! This place definitely gives you a lot for your money. Each app is the size of an entree! Our choices were Brussels sprouts with pancetta and balsamic glaze (our absolute favorite---divine!!!) Arancini (I never tasted, but my girlfriend was not impressed) Ricotta with honey and toasted bread (this was wonderful). Shrimp pompeii (shrimp and peppers in a wonderful wine sauce--with bread to dip it in--a fave) La Scala Fries (these were decent, I'd expected the Provolone sauce to be more saucy). Went to have dinner with some friends. We thought we could get there before happy hour ends which we did. We were told we can only sit at bar for happy hour even though we were seated not even two feet from the bar. My friends and I ordered panini's which tasted like a Dominos Pizza stuffed with very little eggplant and peppers. In all seriousness, their cheesesteak egg rolls would be on my bucket list if I suddenly developed a terminal disease! They are that good. I love the chopped salad, the chicken Milanese, the tortellini, pretty much everything. Been to several LaScala restaurants and by far the Marlboro NJ is the worst. Food was good as with all the restaurants but that's where the good ends! The staff was bitchy and irritated with every question. Noise level due to ridiculous DJ playing awful disco music, 95-100 decibels. Server messed up billing requests. So if you'd like to have a meal screaming at everyone at your table to be heard and enjoy the weight staff providing stink eye the entire meal, then feel free to enjoy this lousy establishment. read more

Solid spot with cute decor for food. This place is BYOB with no corkage fee, so that's pretty nice. A lot of the dishes didn't LOOK so beautiful, but they tasted great. My friend and I came around 1:30PM on a Wednesday afternoon. I always get confused why there are so many people just eating lunch in cherry hill on any given weekday, but I guess that's cherry hill for you. The place wasn't packed, but there was a decent amount of people for a weekday afternoon. My friend and were seated immediately and the hostess was nice enough to let me charge my phone at the front. We ordered truffle fries, cheese steak spring rolls, and buffalo chicken pizza. Now what I mean by some of the food didn't look so great is that despite being such a cute place, their plate of fries looked like they were microwaved and thrown on a dish. HOWEVER, never judge a book by its cover !!!!! The fries were solid and after a bottle of wine, definitely needed those fries. The truffle flavor is also pretty strong, which I liked. We garnished them ourselves with cheese and they were BOMB. The real winner was the cheese steak spring rolls. As someone who has grown up eating traditional Chinese spring rolls, I didn't really know what to think of these when I ordered them. It seemed like a weird fusion dish that wouldn't be great. My friend wanted to try them though so we went for it. And to my surprise (again) they were really good!!!! They literally just taste like (good) cheese steaks. I appreciated the creativity. Pizza was just okay. Didn't find the dough to be amazing or the toppings. Chicken tasted a bit rough, but maybe we just chose the wrong pizza. Also didn't look like a very beautiful pizza, but again, it was okay. Nothing special, but definitely more than edible. Overall, I really liked this place. I had originally discovered La Scala's after being super impressed by a friend's Instagram story and figured I needed to give it a visit one day. I decided to stop by for a later evening dinner with a friend on a Saturday. It was about 8PM, and fortunately there was no wait time for a party of 2. We were seated promptly. Our server came over in about 5 minutes, and greeted us in an extremely friendly manner. She was super helpful at answering questions regarding various items on the menu, and she gave very good input on her menu favorites. After about 15 minutes and getting some water ready for us in between, my friend and I were ready to place our orders. Despite a fairly busy restaurant on a Saturday night, our food came out in what felt like under 20 minutes. We went for 2 different types of pizza. My friend ordered the Wild Mushroom Truffle pizza, and I ordered the Brussels Sprout Pizza. I was able to customize by removing the pancetta and adding caramelized onions. The food quality was absolutely amazing. The individual pizza portion is very large; being a big eater myself, I only got through 2/3 of it. The Brussels sprouts were flavorful and made a delicious combination with balsamic glaze and burrata cheese. The crust was the perfect thickness level and was cooked to the optimal crisp level without being burnt. After eating our pizza, my friend and I went for a dessert to share. We placed an order for the Warm Banana Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding. I honestly didn't expect it to be much, but it was incredible. It had the perfect density and the banana flavor was perfectly present without being overwhelming. The orange flavor was a great flavor enhancer without being overwhelming. The vanilla ice cream on top was the perfect sized scoop. Everything about this dessert was awesome. This experience was great, and I'll definitely be returning to La Scala's soon. The great service, high quality food, reasonable pricing, and great ambiance make it an awesome location to come to with friends. Had A Wonderful Lunch, with Friends our first time at LaScala's Fire.. Atmosphere was perfect. The Service by our Server, David, made the lunch Extra Special, he explained the workings of the restaurant, we were served three varied lunch entrees in rapid fashion. One of my favorite happy hours - great food and drink selection. Notable are the cheesesteak eggrolls - ricotta board - meatball trio. The regular pizzas and entrees are also really good and portion sizes large. The bar is very large however fills up very quickly. Get here early! read more

Don't know when they stopped being a restaurant and turned into a nightclub, but after patronizing this restaurant for years we decided to find a new place. We showed up at 8pm on a Thursday for dinner with my tween. There is now a DJ at and you can't hear the people at your table let alone the wait staff. It's a shame. Great Italian american restaurant with such addictive dishes! Truly a great place to try. Warm family friendly feel with great drink options and food options. The pizza and truffle Mac and cheese is out of this world. Portions are big so we had plenty left overs that taste just as good reheated. I think these prices are very reasonable. Wonderful place with delicious food, definitely give them a try. It's not fancy, we had a group of nine and we were seated in a booth which was a bit tight for a birthday celebration, but we made it work. It's also BYOB which is nice. We had a big group so tried many things; rice balls, burrata, the honey ricotta with brick oven bread is to die for (think I over indulged), truffle and regular pizza, wings, lasagna, eggplant parm, chicken parm, several pasta dishes, artichokes, Calamari and Caesar salad. Not a single thing was bad. The only thing I would change is we would have preferred the artichokes were cooked in the brick oven maybe in lemon sauce, rather than fried, they were the only thing a bit disappointing, and I do mean a bit because everything else was amazing and putting that ricotta on the artichokes really helped :-). Everyone agreed the calamari was perfect and a great indication of great chefs because you can really ruin calamari but this was tender and crisp. Give them a try! read more

My wife liked it but I found it tasteless. We also had eggplant parmesan. It had one long slice of eggplant (for $20) on spaghetti, with bland tomato sauce. This review is based on my one visit last summer. I had not been at Promenade for the past couple years (maybe more); so this was a new addition to me. At the time, I was actually craving a chicken parm, and LaScala's Fire did not disappoint. Their style for chicken parm is more like a melt sandwich as opposed to the traditional sub sandwich. The chicken were a couple of decent cuts stacked up with enough breading to get a nice crunch in each bite. The chicken parm sandwich comes with fries, which tasted great as well. The inside of the restaurant has a fancy-casual style. I would describe as a "minimalist's take on a traditional Italian restaurant". It's bright and simple; yet, you know it's an Italian restaurant. Overall, I'm a fan! I would come back again if I am in town. read more

Came for lunch today and sat at the bar. It was very crowded. Bar was dirty and the bartenders seemed overwhelmed and inattentive. Silverware dirty, glass dirty and the chicken was dry. There was a smell of old beer near the bar. Like rancid smell. Bar. I really liked the place when they first opened but it's going downhill and I won't be coming back here. Terrible experience. And waiting for someone to take your money was another thing. Waiting with your coat on with you credit card and check and trying to get someone's attention. I felt like I was in a dirty cafeteria. It's a shame because there aren't many good places around here and this place started off nicely but without managers roaming around and no bar backs, it's not looking hopeful. read more

It was my birthday and we wanted to get something different for lunch so we were NJ and we've seen some pictures of the food here before and the food looked pretty good so we figured we'll give it a shot. The meatball ricotta stuffed crust was okay. It was not very flavorful and the ricotta stuffed into the crust was a little odd. I would have preferred it a little bit more well done since it was too soft and it fell apart very easily. I did reheat some leftovers at home later and came out much better. The white pizza was very good. I like the flavors of all the cheese's. This was also a bit soft, not as soft as the other. I would have preferred that one also more well done. This was our preferred of the two pizza's. Chicken cutlet sandwich was served on a nice soft bread didn't have enough sauce but the flavors are all good. I would have preferred a little bit more cheese and sauce but overall wasn't bad. read more

Where do I begin? If you plan on going there for a date either, bring earplugs or don't plan on talking. The noise level is terrible. The pizza is coated in oil. The macaroni was cold and slim to none for the price. The " happy hour appetizer only apply at the bar,but you find out after you order and go to pay your bill at your table. They sneak in an extra 3.5% on top of the already 7%. So expect a 10% INCREASE on your bill! Pretty good. This one's a 3.5. First off, the decor and ambiance here is downright cool. Super modern, chic, and open. Definitely unique with good vibes. Great for groups too. We came to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday and it was definitely a good pick. Food? So so. Some was very good, some was just okay. Let's start with the very good... THE RICOTTA BOARD. So f-ing good. A must-get. Delicious wood-fired piadina bread served with a jar of creamy honey ricotta. The combo is beyond perfect. The piadina bread is baked just right - perfect chew on the inside, warm and crisp on the outside. The ultimate vehicle for the amazing honey ricotta mixture. Every dip into the jar created a perfect bite of creamy, savory, sweet, goodness. Perfecto. Another pretty impressive dish is the seafood fra diavlo. Unfortunately I didn't order this for myself, but my friend did, so naturally I munched on hers, ha. Plenty of seafood with a solid sauce. Yum! For me, some of the "just okay" items were the truffle mac n' cheese, cheesesteak eggroll, and the wild mushroom truffle pizza. All seemed a bit dry or over cooked. The mac n' cheese was definitely the driest of them all. Good truffle flavor, but the pasta was crunchy. Wouldn't get this again. The pizza wasn't too bad but just seemed a bit on the bland side. The cheesesteak eggrolls were pretty underwhelming too. The steak was dry, not so cheesy, and not so plentiful. Overall, LaScala's a good joint for a get together, offering a nice selection of foods that's easily sharable. Some improvements can easily make this into a five star pizza spot so I'll keep my fingers crossed for now and check back in when I'm in the area. read more
