Very quaint and pretty inside! Our female server was so good in every way; I feel badly that I forgot her name! I took a gamble with ordering an iffy eggplant (parm) dish. Always a crap shoot! It was very good and fresh but it could have been more tender and cheesier. The (up charge) Caesar was very good. The winner for me was the linguine that tasted homemade! Soooo fabulous! We made dinner reservations for 7pm on a Saturday night and enjoyed our experience so much we subsequently booked my fiancé's bridal shower the following Monday! We arrived just before 7, and despite it being very busy, we were seated after just a brief wait. Shortly after being seated, we were greeted by our server who happened to have one of the most enthusiastic personalities I've ever had in a server and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and offerings. He made some incredible recommendations and had no issue tweaking dishes to our request. We were started with warm, fresh bread. Each table was equipped with quality olive oil and other necessary accompaniments (cheese, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper) so everyone could season their dipping oil to their liking. We decided to skip appetizers tonight, something we rarely do, and it ended up being a great decision as the entree portion sizes were huge. Each entree came with a choice of salad, Caesar or House. I went with a house salad, and looking back I wish I selected the Caesar. Our server graciously, upon request, brought out anchovies to serve along side of the Caesar salads. For dinner, we all ordered something different: Chicken Marsala, Veal Parmigiana, Chicken Francese, and Eggplant Parmigiana. Everyone elected to have theirs served with pasta aside from me. I chose mashed potatoes and some of the best sautéed green beans I've ever had. My fiancé's dad requested to have his veal parm served with homemade tagliatelle instead of capellini which our server had no issue substituting. I thought the presentation of each dish was desirable. Everybody enjoyed their entrees but struggled to finish as aforementioned, the portions were large. Recently got take out here. Got a shrimp Caesar salad and clam linguine. For the price I wasn't impressed. The pasta had barely any flavor but the shrimp was actually a decent size and cooked nicely but the salad was lackluster. Overall; maybe it's nicer to dine in but I probably won't get take out again. read more

As regulars at Barone's, we've enjoyed consistently tasty and freshly cooked meals, but our dinner last night didn't meet expectations. The shrimp scampi was disappointing, with too much broth and overcooked shrimp. It was very soupy. Our server confirmed that the dish is typically prepared that way.? The flavors were unbalanced and the dish tasted weak. The gluten-free cheese ravioli served to my husband was also subpar, with a sauce that was overly salty and had a burnt taste. I've been coming here with my family for years! The food is always fantastic, I'm addicted to their house vinaigrette, and they have some of the best gnocchi I've ever had at a restaurant. We've been for Christmas Eve on several occasions as well as birthdays. It's our favorite place to order from when we don't feel like cooking. Why have I not been here in all the years I have lived in the area!? A friend of mine has worked here for years and would always tell me I should come for dinner some time. I guess the location being not in the main shopping area and kind-of off to the side I had always forgotten about it or drove past without thinking about it? Anyway, I was looking for a nice spot for dinner with the wife to celebrate her new job and there it was: the elusive Barone's trip! Made a reservation, was expecting a decent meal...and was highly delighted with our decision to go there. We started the meal with a few appetizers: scallops with a romescu sauce (special) and the arincini (rice) balls. Both were spectacular! Scallops seared perfectly the romescu sauce was delicious. The Arincini having pesto inside was sooooo good! I had a tuna special, which was lights out, and my wife got the shrimp scampi, and it was great. Dessert: we had the peanut butter pie and tiramisu...can't miss. It's a somewhat small reminiscent of a small Italian village eatery inside. Very nice menu, BYOB, service was excellent from the hostess all the way to the kitchen staff. Cannot wait to go back for round 2 and many more. Check them out. read more

Are very first experience here. Let me start off by saying the Caesar salad with the homemade dressing is fantastic. My husband's chicken dish with what's similar to picante sauce was delicious. My shrimp scampi unfortunately missed the mark. As soon as they brought it out to me I could smell the stale old smell. The shrimp was totally overcooked tasted like what a basement would taste like that's the only way I can describe it. And my husband tasted it and even he said the same thing it tasted old and musty I felt like Gordon Ramsay I wanted our waitress to taste it and ask her would you eat that. We went to Barone's last night for dinner for the first time in years and had a great experience! We had a group of 8 people and the service was impeccable and super fast! Our waiter, Mark, was so friendly and one of the best waiters I've had in a long time! We started with the rice balls, fried zucchini, and calamari for appetizers. They were all very good! For entrees, we all thoroughly enjoyed all of them! I had the special halibut with shrimp over pasta in a cream sauce. The halibut was cooked perfectly and had great flavor and the sauce was delicious! The shrimp was overcooked, but didn't take away from the overall dish. Went here for a birthday celebration. Food was very good. Two pasta appetizers were verygood. One a penne with meat sauce and another with a blush sauce was very good. We had an entree oprion of chicken parm , chicken marsalla or salmon. My wife and I both chose the salmon. A bit dry, but still had a good flavor. I had a medical appointment nearby and Barone's came highly recommended. Nice, casual layout and the menu was quite nice. I didn't realize it was BYOB but I had to drive 50 miles so it is just as good. Shannon S was our server and she seemed to be training a new person. Very efficient and friendly. We started with an order of Stuffed Long Hots and all I can say is "try them, they were terrific". Peppers stuffed with prosciutto & provolone and oven roasted in olive oil. OMG, they were good! Small point, but the bread and butter was also excellent. I had the South Philly Panini and Carol chose the Bellagio and we brought half home. Their dessert case was vey tempting but we had no room. We never feel welcome hence the reason for not frequented it. The wait staff is bored and unfriendly except for the one lady who has been there forever. She needs to train the others. Sigh! I went during lunch and had the pear sachetti. It was really delicious and even better with the optional honey (I didn't get the walnuts) added. The pasta was delicate which is always a guys sign. Lucia our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. My boyfriend got the tomahawk steak on special and boy was it special! Other tables were literally asking to see it. He was a few bites shy of finishing it and it was absolutely delicious. The gnocchi literally melted in my mouth, so soft and cooked to perfection with chunks of fresh mozzarella mixed in. I googled for a restaurant near an ailing relative's home and this is what came up! Lucky me! It was just the wonderful respite needed on a stressful day! The service was prompt and courteous despite the two very large 30+ parties on either side of us. Acoustics were fine because it could have been just the two of us there in terms of hearing each other. The lunch was excellent! I had the Crab Caesar on flatbread and my friend had the Bruschetta salad. The ciabatta rolls on the table were warm, the olive oil high quality, the cheese in the shaker seemed freshly grated and high quality. All ingredients were fresh and high quality so I really missed out by not choosing one of the yummy looking pastries in the display case. I had lunch here yesterday for my birthday with my fiancé and mother. All of us agreed that it was a wonderful experience. The food was great and the service was exceptional from our waiter, Mark. OK DINNER Arriving at 7:30 p.m., we felt rushed as soon as we were seated. We were told twice that the kitchen would soon stop taking orders because the restaurant closes at 9 p.m. With little time to review the menu, we ordered Baked Clams ($13), Eggplant Parmesan ($23), Tagliatelle Pork Sugo (homemade pasta with pork ragu $23) and Chicken Franzese ($23). Overall, the food was good. The Baked Clams had more than a dozen small littleneck clams roasted in white wine and dusted with bread crumbs. The Chicken Franzese had three small pounded cutlets lightly sauced. The Eggplant Parmesan was very large but was drowning under an overly thick tomato sauce. The pork ragu was not good - the thick pasta was undercooked and instead of tender pieces of pork, the pork was overcooked, tough and stringy. It was hard to ignore the staff getting ready to close for the evening. As we ate, we saw the staff emptying out the coffee or iced tea urn and drying the silverware. read more

We had our first grand baby's shower today(60 people) and not only was reserving the place a pleasure and so top of the line customer service.. the actual day was beyond what we hoped. First our Hostess Lucia was THE BEST!!!! She was so informative and explained everything. She and the staff were wonderful with getting guests their requests. They were patient with our "less polite" family members and smiled and did all they could to explain and accommodate all our needs. The food!!! I don't even know where to start!! I was getting texts from across the room from people about how "amazing" the food was and there wasn't even one complaint about ANY of the food they served. Great food! Hadn't been here for a few years, but I've been missing out! Four of us went here for dinner, and we all got the specials. Two of had scallops over risotto - surprisingly good. But the best looking dinner was the filet mignonette over mashed potatoes with some sort of crabmeat side. We all wished we got that! Brought our own wine, which is nice. Have eaten here many times and also had a party catered at the restaurant. This week...the VEAL CARCIOFI was not good. As per the menu they are breaded, however they were served dry, a bit salty, and the white wine, and lemon Carciofi sauce was lacking in flavor. The veal was not a prime cut for a cutlet of this type and very dark in color. My recommendaton is not bread and pan fry the cutlets but saute instead, add a more flavorful and seasoned wine lemon based Carciofi sauce. read more
