I personally think the entire menu is delicious and there is something for everyone. My husband and I came here for lunch this past weekend. We really enjoyed it! Our server was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere had an open, airy feel. Nice space between tables. We shared the beet salad and a Margherita pizza. Delicious! The salad was large enough to share with plenty of beets. Fantastic flavor and not swimming in dressing. The pizza had a thin, crispy crust, and the sauce was tasty. I liked that the cheese stayed on the pizza instead of slipping off and smacking me in the chin like most Margherita pizzas I've had. The menu offers good variety without leaving you overwhelmed. The food I saw on other diners' tables looked equally as good. We will certainly be back. read more

It's a fairly new restaurant in the Prommenade. I had a casual dinner there one Tuesday evening. My friend met me there at 4:30 pm and we had the restaurant to ourselves initially. She had the chicken Caesar salad and I had the pizza with prosciutto and arugala. She enjoyed her salad while I felt my pizza was just okay. It was a little dry....needed something extra. The service was okay, they were not busy but I still had to track my waiter down for a refill. He was busy socializing with the hostess. I would probably return and bring some wine next time. This is the WORST place I have ever been to when it comes to customer service. The hostess could NOT care less about us. Do they have such a huge following that they don't need us? My favorite local restaurant. Love that the food is always fresh and honestly I've never gotten a bad dish. I also love that they serve the food as it is finished- instead of waiting for all entrees to be ready at same time. My faves are the tortellini, the rigatoni, the mushroom truffle pizza and the Alicia's Sunday dinner. The truffle fries and Lascalas fries are also excellent, as well as Caprese appetizer. We came and tried this place the first month it was opened. The food was delicious and the place had a great great energy! I had the New Yorker/ the steak was cooked perfectly and fries were delicious! My husband had the pizza and equally loved it.. I came again last week and the energy in the place was very low. The waiters and waitress's seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else and it was very slow in there. We got the ricotta board- first few bites so outrageous, but as you kept eating it it was really sweet a little too much honey to ricotta ratio. I had the pizza this time and it was pretty good. I was so impressed with LaScalas Fire! We used to be regulars at their Philadelphia location on 8th street. Since moving to the area I've been looking for good pizza with fresh ingredients! This place fits the bill! The decor is modern and clean. Our waiter was friendly but not overbearing. Salads are fresh and large. Pizza was cooked perfectly and the sauce is phenomenal! Can't say enough great things about our meal, party of 8 people, last night. It was a short 15 minute wait for a table at 7:30. Our waiter, David, was past superb!! The only thing better than David was the lightning delivery of the app's we order from the great meatball, stromboli, ricotta board with the honey to our entrees! I had lunch yesterday with my two sisters and had a wonderful experience which started with our waiter named Michael. He was extremely polite and friendly and knew the exact times to come and check on us and refill our water. We shared the chopped salad and the hot Italian pizza which was perfect for the three of us because of the large portions. The salad was extremely fresh and the Pizza had just enough hot peppers and meat to satisfy us. To my surprise and also my embarrassment Michael took it upon himself to bring out a delicious cannoli with a birthday candle and two other waiters to sing to me after hearing my sister mention it was my birthday. In my eyes nothing can make a really good restaurant great than to have a wait staff who is friendly and caring and efficient and that's why I will be returning to La Scala's in the very near future. read more

This restaurant was a surprise as it wasn't at all what I had expected. I dined on a Saturday night and was surprised that the menu is sort of a giant appetizer menu. Most items are 11-12 dollars and the portions are average at best. I was expecting more of a traditional menu with apps, dinner items etc. the food was excellent and the service was perfect for the type of restaurant it is. Very casual, very inexpensive and sort of a quick dine, lunch experience. Great decor but the place was rather empty for a Saturday night. Can't see how this restaurant will survive on such low ticket meals. The rent in the promenade is too high. I wish them well but would recommend changing their marketing strategy to invite the customer that truly wants to dine. All in all, I think they are close, just a few tweaks and they'll have great success. read more

So good!! However not thrilled when the server touched my babies hand. I was trying to enjoy my time there and converse with the people I was with but our server kept telling us stupid stories. He talked more than we did to each other. When people go out, they want to spend time and talk to each other , not listen to stupid stories. I will definitely be back. I just ate here for the first time for lunch today and really enjoyed it. I think it was the owner who came over to our table to welcome us and explain the menu. He was very well versed in the menu, ingredients, and other details. We just ordered the Sausage and Broccoli Rabe dish and the Lascala Fries. This was enough to satisfy three slightly hungry adults. The food came out quickly and was very very good. The staff was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the chairs are very comfortable. It was little bit cold inside though. LaScala's Fire is BYOB so plan accordingly. This place is a great new addition to the local restaurant lineup. I'm excited to return to try the pizzas as well as a few other items on the menu. read more
