This is probably one of my new favorite seafood restaurants. The food was delicious and the variety of drinks offered is also great! My boyfriend and I were greeted by a lady as soon as we stepped in. Our waiter was very friendly and answered all of our questions since this was our first time there. We've been here a dozen times and found it fine. Today went for lunch and ordered three margaritas and asked the waiter for top shelf with a Grand Mariner floater and was quoted $12 each. Two of us ordered fajitas, one with steak, chicken and shrimp, the other with steak and shrimp for $25 each. The three meat fajitas was served hot and sizzling in cast iron skillet (typical) and the two meat was served on a ceramic plater. The server said they only serve the three meat in cast iron skillet. I have NEVER received fajitas in anything other than cask iron! The steak was tough and tasted boiled! The one served correctly was delicious! I can not say anything positive about the "boiled" one. When we brought the issues up to the server, he said it was a new cook and that was the way they do things. There is no one there who knows what they're doing. I must say the server was friendly at first but overworked and mentioned they were horribly understaffed! When we received our ticket and found the margaritas were NOT top shelf (they said they had used well) and charged us $13 each! We asked to speak to the manager he immediately snatched the ticket from my hand and told me not to tell him how to run his restaurant. When I asked him how they can charge $13 for a well drink..I didn't want to pay that much for them, he pointed to his server and said call the police! Absolutely uncalled for..we paid our bill of $105 and left. We will not be back! Added after response by Alma...we did not take the "boiled " fajitas home, we took only the fajitas that were cooked and served properly. They were delicious! As I stated in my original review. No one cussed at anyone in your establishment. Your manager came out with an attitude and snatched the receipt from my hand and said "don't tell me how to run my restaurant "...and threatened to call the police. That escalated the entire interaction. That was uncalled for and was the catalyst of our unsatisfactory experience. The manager over reacted from the get go...what your manager reported to you glossed over his poor customer service. We had no problem with our waiter. He tried his best but admitted he wasn't a bartender, they have a new cook, and no help. He ran his legs off...kudos to him! I still think being threatened by management for complaining was totally uncalled for. read more

This place is so delicious! I went there tonight with family for Taco Tuesday and ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp tacos ("mariachi tacos"), mariachi burrito, chicken tacos, guacamole and jamaica. They start by bringing you a basket of saltines, fried whole corn tortillas and a small bowl of ceviche. Which was delicious and perfect when it is a billion degrees outside. Service was amazing and quick and food was delicious!! Side of guac is huge and the jamaica was perfect. I have been hearing about this place for a while now. My parents have been half a dozen time already, so we finally went to celebrate my dad's birthday last night and we were NOT disappointed. On a Friday night my family and I are the first to arrive and since they don't take reservations I went in and asked for a table of 11. Without hesitation and full of smiles the staff was very happy to accommodate, had the table and menus ready in minutes to my shock so I had to run back out and get the family out of the truck thinking there'd be some wait to get tables pushed together. We were seated in no time with a wonderful ceviche, drink orders taken while we waiting for the rest of our party. The food is absolutely amazing. I love this different style coastal type Mexican dishes with so many options it was hard to decide. The seasoning and spices were all on point, even the hot sauces on the table weren't hot to be hot they were good and full of flavor that complimented the ceviche and the food very well. Service all night was amazing even as they filled up and remained busy, table after table were being turned as we took our sweet time. They even offered to put the cake we brought into their refrigerator until after we ate. Even though there's at least 6 other things I want to try next time, I do not know how I'm gonna order anything different than the bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese served with rice and beans and salad with an amazing dipping sauce for the shrimp I'm going to be craving that for weeks. My stars are for the service. I can not tell you how excited I was to see this place pop up in little town Galt! I have been to the other ones, and loved it. The only thing that lacked was the service. When we got to the door we were instantly greeted, and sat down right away! So then we wait, I was anxiously waiting on the free ceviche that we normally get with tostadas and crackers. About 7 minutes later, NOTHING. But, I believe our waitress/server was Gabriela. (According to the receipt) She had glasses on. She asks us for our drinks, I thought cool, maybe she's bringing it out with our drinks, another 12 minutes pass now us 3 at our table have our drinks. Then across from us, these 3 girls are way down, and guess what they were given immediately? Yes, the ceviche! & yet our table only has drinks. So another 12 minutes pass, which is approximately now 30 minutes, she asks to take our order, so I immediately ask her about the ceviche. (I know i'm making a big deal but their ceviche is delicious) She brings it out, finally. So I thought to myself, well maybe she's overwhelmed, so gave her another chance, we ordered our food; Mojarra with flour tortillas, Shrimp Taco, plate with Shrimp and Steak with melted cheese with & half a dozen of raw oysters. So our order starts arriving, The Mojarra first, then half a dozen oyster shots, Yes you read that right, oyster shots. We didn't ask for oyster shots, we asked for raw oysters! So she takes them back to the kitchen, the Fundido plate comes out. The food did come out at a decent time, no complaints there. Most of the food was nice and warm, except the beans, they were cold on one plate. The food overall was good which is what I expected. But now here we go again, we ask for a Mega Michelada with a Corona Familiar, she goes back to the kitchen, fails to mention, either they don't have anymore Familiar or what but the mega Michelada comes out with 3 regular coronas! We didn't ask for that! But my boyfriend being who he is, just drank the michelada. Then almost 30 minutes after we get our food, she asked him if he was ready for the oysters. That was his appetizer of course he's been ready for 45 mins. Well she comes back and tells us they are out of oysters ‍ UGH! & you guys don't think I haven't forgot, I hadn't received my taco, & the flour tortillas to the Mojarra! At this point because I was so excited to dine here tonight, I was upset my appetite went away, that I did not want to ask for those items. On top of that I'm pregnant, so my hormones are all over the place. I know this is not the same service other people received from other waiters, because I watched the people around me, they were asked if anything else was needed, they had their ceviche right away, drinks, you name it. I can not say I will not be back, because I know I will, honestly it's good food, and it's beautiful inside, I just hope the next time me and my little family attend, we are treated way better than tonight. read more

My husband & I tried it out for the first time last night & all I can think about is what am I going to order next!!! Our food and service was FABULOUS!! The place was pact and we opted to sit at the bar. So glad we did because we sat in front of the kitchen and got to see all the food coming out EVERYTHING looked yummy!! Our plate was sooooooo flavorful & was plenty for us!! It is funny to read other post about the service, but like with any new restaurant there will be growing pains. Me coming from the restaurant industry & opening of a restaurant's there was a lot of pressure and perfecting the system.. I say please give them another try!! New Mexican restaurant in town....taking over the building where a previous Mexican restaurant had failed. That is where the similarities end. This place is one of those spots that you dont come across very often. AMAZING food, drinks and especially important....service. It was packed but we had seats quickly...don't let the lack of spots in the parking lot fool you, plenty of room inside. This team is not only well trained and professional...they are very personal and make sure you are enjoying yourself. They had a mariachis band and lots of fun energy. The menu is seafood and there were lots of variety. Try the shrimp cocktail or shooters....we saw a ton go out and they dont skimp in preparing them. Great place. We go to both Galt and South Sacramento locations. We love the original food, the unique menu items. This is NOT your standard Mexican restaurant. The food is 90% seafood. Try the whole fried fish-OUTSTANDING!!!! I like the shrimp a la kora, and the plate version has all the sides. The other great thing is the wait staff at both locations are very friendly. So....We chose to go to Las Islitas at the last minute to try this restaurant ourselves after seeing the early negative reviews. Well I gotta say....those reviews should not decide on whether or not to try a restaurant unless you experience it yourself. On a Saturday night, we were seated quickly, our drinks and food arrived on time, the food was fresh and flavorful, and the service was friendly and helpful. Overall we had an awesome dining experience and will definitely be back. I highly recommend Las Islitas and glad it's in our town!! read more
