First I would like to say this place has an intimate vibe. The ambiance is great. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. I got the chiliquiles with steak and avocado. The ingredients was fresh and tasty. The chicken tacos was also flavorful and delicious. I washed everything down with a flight of tasty mimosas. Because of everything mentioned I'll definitely be back again.

First Toast in Lodi feels like a modern version of a local diner. The food is elevated and good, though it needed a little bit of salt--probably because they were so packed. The portions are huge; one plate can easily feed two people. We tried the skillet hash with prime rib and a breakfast sandwich that had a nice aioli and handmade sausage. For drinks, the mimosas are normal-sized but have a ton of options to modify, including strawberry and orange among over 8 different flavors. We also had a Bloody Mary, but my only note is that if the bacon is burnt, you might as well leave it off the drink. Good spot, just needs a little more attention to the details when it's busy. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will come back again.

I went here for brunch with two other friends on Saturday 4th of July. We were able to get a table without a wait. The service was prompt and excellent. We shared three different dishes each was excellently flavored. I would receive this place to anyone who would like to have an affordable good tasting meal.

All of our breakfast was delicious! We was all satisfied with all of the plates we got!

Came here back to back days. Services, foods and drinks are delicious! Can't explain anymore then that. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

We came on a Sunday and it c was really busy. We were added to the list and we waited for about an hour in the parking lot. There's limited parking as they share it with Pappapavlos so I parked in the street. There are 2 benches out front to wait but the sun does hit you. Tip* I didn't know at the time but you can join the waitlist on Yelp before heading there. It's a nature restaurant so seating is limited but they have a sub room and a patio area that offers more seating. We sat in the sun room which was nice. They have an extensive breakfast menu with some delicious plates. I seen some nice mimosas flights being served around. I opted for the blueberry pancake, chorizo skillet, biscuit and gravy. It also came with a side of toast! It was a feast for the eyes for sure. It was part of their Restaurant Week. Everything was delicious! I really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. This is a must for brunch or breakfast in Lodi!

Yelp Waitlist review -- skip it. The hostess said they can't adjust wait times on the app, and it isn't synced with their in-house list. I joined the Yelp waitlist and got a text estimating a 15-minute wait. When I arrived and checked in, they added me to their separate list and quoted another 15-20 minutes.

If you are a yelp skeptic, this review's for you. This is the reimagined Amor y Paz space that now operates as First Toast and all of the positive things said on here are true! Located in the old Papapavlos space, it is charming, cozy, and clean. The service was excellent and we chatted a bit about their often changing concept. Hopefully this one is here to stay. We ordered breakfast and lunch since we were straddling that brunch line. My husband commented that the strawberry banana pancakes were among the best he's had. Equally true for my generously piled French dip. While we live in Sacramento, we will be back to sample a few more well crafted menu options!

This place is amazing! The owners and staff are so friendly and committed to making sure you have a great experience. The vibe of this place is so hip! However, It's not a huge restaurant so you may have a short wait. We came for breakfast on a Sunday at 11am and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. We split the biscuits and gravy which were so delicious. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito with no egg add avocado. It came with fresh homemade salsa. It was so good! My husband ordered the chilaquiles which were also delicious. This is our new breakfast spot in Lodi!

Ill just get right to it. The service here was great. The waitress was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The ambience is fantastic. The restaurant is clean and very modern. The only thing that wasnt great was the food. I ordered french toast and my wife had the chilaquiles. Both looked great but were severely lacking flavor. My french toast had a great whipped cream topping and fresh strawberries that were quite tasty. The French toast itself didnt live up to the toppings. It was very bland, lacking any sweetness that I expect in a french toast. I really wanted to like it but it did not meet my expectations. My wifes chilaquiles were lacking flavor as well. She said the steak was well cooked and flavorful but everything else was bland. Lastly this place is very expensive and the prices dont make any sense. My french toast was $18 and steak and eggs were $22. Theres no way 3 pieces of bread should be $18 and steak and eggs only $3 more. I really wanted to like this place but this will for sure be my last visit.

Ambiance is high class home. Decorated like a restaurant version of a Pottery Barn magazine We were able to revisit this wonderful restaurant. Chimichurri with steak comes with the entire steak on top. Incredible deal for $17 6/5 Hash came with birria. It's very good, not spicy. The carmelized onions and bell peppers marinade well. 5/5 Tres Leches French Toast 4/5 Excellent crème and berries on top. Wish there were more berries. French toast is just ok. I would recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes.

We came here for a girls brunch since I've been following them on instagram since they opened and their food looked amazing. We got there around 10 and it was pretty busy inside so they sat us outside which we were totally ok with. There were four of us so we ordered different things so we can taste a little bit of everything. (Chilaquiles verdes, Taquitos, American breakfast, enchiladas rojas) Our favorite was the green chilaquiles and the pancakes. And our least favorite were the enchiladas Rojas, the sauce was a little too sweet for us and a little too thick but still ok. They were pretty busy and you can tell they were short staffed because they kept forgetting stuff we asked for and our pancake never came until we asked for it. but we understood that they were busy. My sister is very picky with her eggs and always asks for them a little burnt and she was so happy that they were just how she likes them. I'm thinking maybe it was the owner that that checked up on us a couple times and apologized for the wait time. It does get pretty busy and loud but still manageable. We definitely would come back and try something else.

We were excited about trying this new place out because we love brunch spots but I was a bit disappointed, the place is nice but way too small, felt tight and crowded. The menu is overpriced and the portions are small. I don't think we will be returning. The food was ok, a bit bland for me, the drinks were good and the bartender was friendly.

Trusting in Yelp reviews, we headed to Lodi's highly rated and popular Avenue Grill. Service was wonderful. Our server (blond lady with glasses) was friendly and chipper and had a very nice demeanor. She was on top of everything. Food came out quickly too. Seemed like the rest of the customers there were local regulars, who knew one another. Cozy, family-friendly vibez. I got the chicken fried steak with crispy potatoes. Good country gravy, seasoned potatoes, and chicken fried steak was delicious. Big portion, enough for leftovers. My husband got the steak & eggs. The steak was a little too dry and under seasoned to my husband's liking. He always orders medium-well, but it was more well. I did agree that it didn't have much flavor. But I had it the next day for leftovers and thought it was good mixed with my gravy and potatoes. So if you're looking for a good traditional breakfast diner, this is probably your spot. I don't think it was worth a drive from Sac, just because there are a lot of similar restaurants, but if you are already in the Lodi area, definitely worth a visit.

Tonight, we returned for another birthday, but the experience was nothing like before. We arrived at 6:10 PM for our 6:15 reservation. Upon entering, the hostess walked right past us with another party, without so much as a "I'll be right with you." Another employee eventually asked if we'd been helped; when we said no, she said she'd find someone. We were finally seated, and our server, Monica, was the bright spot--attentive, friendly, and kept us updated on our food. That food, however, took nearly an hour to arrive, and we watched several tables who were seated after us receive their meals first. When our dishes did come, they arrived in stages--the succotash and salmon first, then the pork chop and gnudi about seven minutes later. Worse, nearly everything was cold and overdone. Pork chop: Unevenly cooked--some parts dry and overcooked, others undercooked. The potato purée was gummy and overworked, though well-seasoned. Salmon: Overcooked and bland; I had to ask for salt and pepper just to add flavor. The corn velouté underneath was unpleasant--the corn kernels were dried out and rock-hard (I circled the pieces I had to spit out in the photo). The beans were burnt, not charred, and tasted bitter and inedible. The succotash was flavorless and had 1/2 cherry tomato poorly executed. Gnudi: The lobster was chewy and overcooked, and the dish was dry--it desperately needed a sauce and a bright note like lemon to bring it together. The only course that delivered was dessert. For the price, the quality was disappointing across the board. Needless to say, we'll be looking for a new spot for our future celebrations.
