I believe this restaurant deserves 5 stars instead of the 4 stars it currently has on Yelp--but you can decide for yourself. On our first visit today, we tried four different drinks and four menu items, and every single one was a work of art for both the eyes and the palate. The Shrimp Ceviche appetizer was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, especially paired with the Mexico Lindo - Salsa Pan Negro sauce. The Aguachile Negro was incredible--a beautiful presentation worthy of butterflies, featuring fresh shrimp in a perfect combination of tangy, spicy, and slightly sweet black sauce. And let's not overlook the fish tacos--crispy fried fish topped with slaw, but it was the sauce that truly took them to another level. Each dish was unique in its own way, yet equally delicious. The drinks were just as impressive. The Entre Espinos was refreshing, blending cool lime with the subtle heat of jalapeño and agave. The Tequillero Mucho tasted like a berry mojito, the Mango Tequila Shot was fantastic, and you can never go wrong with a classic shot of Tres Generaciones. Service and location was great. My family ate here for dinner. Out of four of us, my son got food poisoning after eating the Carne Asada Super Burrito. My first time here I ordered two carne asada tacos and two chicken tacos. The place was practically empty since it was the middle of the day, yet it took around 30 min to get my order. Both the asada and chicken were old and dry, and the tortillas (that are smaller than every other place in town) didn't seem to spend much time on the grill. The meat was also quite sparse. It was more a sprinkling of meat on a tiny life raft as opposed to the cargo of the vessel. I think they didn't even double up the tortillas as is the way of the street taco. Honestly, for smaller inferior, tacos at a higher price than most other spots around town, I would be ashamed to serve these. No pride in product if you ask me. The "live laugh love" font signage doesn't drive up the price of a taco if you can't back it up. Second time here was late on a Sunday night. They were busy but not that busy. A couple parties in front of me in line at the register. Took them at least a half an hour to just take their orders. The person at the register didn't seem to know what they were doing, and was largely absent despite people being in line. I ordered a shrimp burrito to go. After another 15 or so minutes, the same guy asked if I was here to pick up a DoorDash or something. The guy didn't remember taking my order. Another ten minutes go by and my order is finally ready. The shrimp were black. Kind of alarming. I think they leave the raw shrimp in their hot sauce as a marinade, and since it was later in the evening, they must have been there a while. The burrito was big and alright, I'd like to see refried beans available, as well as clarification on what their tequileros sauce is. I don't trust mystery house sauces. But I was mostly underwhelmed. The shrimp, being already marinated in hot sauce, made me not need to add any salsa. So no choice here. It was also a kind of typical NorCal burrito with mostly rice and a few whole beans. I always feel like I'm being ripped off when half my burrito is rice. SoCal does it right. Anyways, you get faster service at the taco truck, so if you like this place, and don't want to wait forever in a super loud place, go there. Otherwise, I think that there are better places to get a mostly rice burrito in town. read more

Updated Menu! I had not been here in a few months so I was surprised to see these changes. They still have their cantina menu but have added other dishes like enchiladas and appetizers. This place use to be more fast casual, order at counter and you take a seat. So please know you must wait to be seated now. Service: everyone at tequileros has always been friendly, and very welcoming. That has not changed. Food/Drinks: I was happy to see they have full service bar now. This restaurant is great with their tacos. We ordered chips and salsa for the first time. They were just ok. The table didn't care for the chips having more of a chewy consistency. Definitely deep fried but not like a normal chip. The pastor nachos were tasty but because the of the chewy factor it made it tough to eat. The plate was definitely big enough to share. Decided to get a bite to eat. It's located in the heart of Lodi so it's easy to pop in if you are going to the movies, or doing a little wine tasting. So I am torn on. The 4 or 5 star rating of this place. Walked in liked the vibe but come on if you're going to be a Mexican restaurant you have to throw down some chips and salsa and not make the customer pay for them. I ordered way too much and needed to be hauled out of here. I had their street fries loaded with Al Pastor and they were so good 100% a meal all in itself. Then I ordered the birria tacos and 1st off these arrant normal sized and easily a shareable meal. The flavors and taste 100% 5 star! Saw this place on tik tok and found out that they had multiple locations. This one was super close to my sisters home so we decided to drop by and try it out. We both ordered the quesabirria tacos and agreed that they were just ok. They lacked seasoning and was really missing a chile salsa to add to the taste profile that these type of tacos usually have. As you approach this location, you will see outside street facing patio seating when you walk inside you also have more seating and bar seating as well.
