Last week, I went and got a chicken supreme burrito from this taco truck. It was actually the first time I'd had a burrito from a taco truck in over 10 years. This burrito was the best thing I had ever tasted. It was so good, every day after that, anytime I was eating, I was just wishing it was that burrito. At one point I actually wished that I could un-taste it. Because now everything else just seemed flavorless, or lacking in comparison. It ruined all other food for me. It was easier not remembering how good it was, since I'm sure it's not very healthy and I would be better not knowing. That was until last night. I finally gave in and decided I would get it again. I hadn't eaten all day so I was actually starting to feel nauseated from being so hungry. I went around 9:00pm. Ordered the same exact thing. The woman who took my order was friendly, and my order was ready surprisingly fast! I grabbed my food, went home, turned on a movie, and started digging in to what I had waited so long for, and thought so much about. I ate about 1/5 of the burrito before I started thinking it tasted kind of funny... I couldn't figure out what it was, but something was wrong with it. I kept eating it and decided I recognized what it tasted like- fish! I do like seafood, so I just figured, maybe they just finished making some fish, and didn't clean the grill off well enough before making mine. I wasn't sure if I was crazy, or if it really tasted like fish. So, I asked my boyfriend to take a bite and tell me if it tasted fishy to him. He took a bite and said "that's fish they accidentally gave you fish instead" and went and spit out the bite in the trash. Well, I looked up the menu, and it turns out, they don't even serve any fish or seafood! I googled why my burrito might taste like fish, and it said rancid meat. My favorite taco truck in Sacramento/Stockton area. I always get carne tacos and tripe tacos extra crispy. Everything is so flavorful and fresh. The red sauce is little spicy but delicious! Solid spot with well seasoned meat. We both got carne asada and they don't skimp with the meat. I asked for extra sour cream, onions, & cilantro in my burrito but I didn't get it LOL I also asked for less rice and they barely put any or beans but I didn't mind because my burrito was full of carne. I should've asked for salsa on the side too for some more flavor but my jalapeños did the trick. Very fast service, I was worried it was going to take a while because there was so many people. The lady who took my order was nice too. This taco truck is in the cut at some auto shop. Plenty of parking so don't worry about that too much. They are Cash Only so be prepared. I usually avoid the food trucks because their quality tends to not be up to snuff, at least in this town anyway. But against my better judgment, and partially because of how close it is to my house, I decided to give La Picosita a try. People seem to rave about this truck, so I figured why not. I wasn't super hungry so I just got a regular quesadilla with carne asada. The two points count for the size of the quesadilla, and the excellent salsa roja. My issue was that the tortilla was burnt, and the carne asada, though it was packed with meat, more so than cheese to be honest, was exactly what I expected from a truck. Old dry over seasoned steam tray meat. It was so salty that even when doused in their more spicy salsa, all I could taste was salt. I ate half but had to throw the rest away. I've had more water since then than I usually drink in two days, and I drink a lot of water. I really hate food waste, and they also included a few wedges of limes which I did not ask for. So more food waste there. I wish these places would just ask you if you want whatever extra tidbits they feel like including. I don't want the lime slices, the radishes, the roasted jalapeños, or the sprinkle of cilantro to make things look fancy. Also side note, they are cash only. I don't carry cash but found a couple fivers in my wallet that must have been there for years. read more

This truck is a staple in Lodi and I have been here dozens of times over the years. I would always get the veggie burrito and it was a good size for the price. My son and husband both like this truck but we have stopped going as I have gotten sick the last 3 times I have come. I have never had meat from the truck and yet I still seem to get ill. To be fair, my husband also ate here the last few times and did not get sick, but it's just too much of a coincidence for me. I told him he was free to grab food here whenever but the last time he said the prices were not as good of a value anymore so we have found a new spot. Also, the location has gotten worse over the years as well; the last few times there has been a homeless man yelling at himself behind the fence they park near and it is not a very well lit area. This truck has been here as long as I can remember and if you happen to be in this area, there is not much else but fast food, so feel free to try it and decide for yourself. read more

This place.....WOW. It's such a hidden little spot that packs sooo much flavor! The prices are amazing for the portions they give! We got asada nachos supreme and asada burrito supremes 30$ total!! The pictures honestly speak for themselves. But the nachos is exactly what I want when I order nachos, had actual nacho cheese plus the works! If you're in Lodi this is the best Taco truck in Lodi in my opinion. The have a great meat selection Cabeza, Tripa, Lengua and all the regular like El pastor, asada, carntas, and chicken. If you need a vegetarian menu they have that as well. La Picosita wins the people's choice award at the Lodi Taco truck cooked off every year that the held it. Went here today after running errands & heard about this place from a few people. I wanted to try something new besides the carne asada tacos im always getting so i ordered the tacquizas a domicilo. Pretty close to a carne asada & it looked super delocious. The tortillas looked super fresh , and had a soft texture that reminds you of homemade cooking. It also had a buttery taste that was amazing. The meat was thick & the cooks made sure to top the tortillas with meat whoch i loved because sometimes tacos at other places dont have a lot of meat. This was a plus. & i got the salsa verde which added the perfect zest. The juice flavors and combinations made this the perfect lunch for the afternoon..10/10 would recommend read more

Service is super fast and the portion is big for the price! I tried the lengua and cabeza tacos. Both are delicious and the meat is tender. Took my family here ( mind you that my family is kind of picky with their burritos ) and they added this to their "go-to" list for burrito spots :). They said they had a good amount of meat and all the ingredients were nicely/evenly distributed throughout , as some burrito spots just have a chunk of sour cream on the top and the rest of the burrito has no sour cream. Their horchata is deeeelish,, I've had some horchatas that didn't have a cinnamon milky taste to it . . but this place is legit. It's not everyday I spend much time in Lodi. Reason being is because I live a good 45 minutes north. And if I DID live closer, well I just might be a regular at this place. I only say that because this has got to be one of the BEST taco trucks on earth! Which takes us to "La Picosita". Located in a quiet parking lot off the corner of W. Turner Road and N. Church St., La Picosita is located a mile west of CA Highway 99. Since the truck itself is in a relatively quiet area, parking shouldn't be an issue for anyone coming here no matter what time you arrive. As far as the hours, they are open 7 days a week from 10am-11pm. I came here with my lady on the afternoon of Monday 9/3/18 around 1:00pm. Since it was Labor Day, I was praying that they were open. Luckily they were and coincidentally, there was not a single customer at the truck. However a few minutes after we arrived, there must have been at least 7 vehicles that pulled up. Talk about good timing for us! Menu options are very straightforward (tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, & tostadas) while the prices are unbelievably reasonable. I live north of here (in the Sacramento area) and I've seen prices on tacos and burritos in my area to be at least $1-2 higher than La Picosita. Since we both had not yet eaten lunch, we decided on ordering three of their "Carne Asada Tacos" priced at $1.50/each. Our tacos are ready, they are wrapped in parchment paper and kept warm in aluminum foil. Included with our tacos are a side of red & green salsas, lime wedges, and radishes. Since our tummies were growling, we decide on eating right there in the parking lot near our car. After unwrapping the foil, I was absolutely mesmerized to see the abundance of meat in our tacos. This place absolutely did not skimp at all and as you can see from the picture I took, they were very generous. There was also a fair share of cilantro and onion while two corn tortillas held up well when eating this. As far as the taste, it had a major WOW factor to it. Everything was seasoned to perfection with the right amount of spices and heat. Overall, "La Picosita" is a damn good place which I will definitely visit again when I am in the area. They have won several awards as they were voted Lodi's best taco truck from 2011-2014. Out of all the taco trucks I have been to up and down the state of California, this place definitely ranks in my top 5. A true gem and amazingly great comfort food. This is my third time here, I've gotten the carne asada super burrito each time. One thing I've noticed is that the food is never hot/warm. I never hear a grill or flat top burning so i'm assuming they just throw it all together and don't heat it up all together. The service is fine, the workers don't seem like they're working too hard. Any review shitting on this place is out of their mind. This place is tremendous when it comes to customer service when it comes to flavor of food, I mean they won nine taco truck competitions consecutively. This is a Lodi staple they've been around since the early 2000s, perfecting flavors. The only complaint someone can make is the parking lot it's in maybe because the parking lot is a little small but other than that, you can't really knock it for its location. It's very accessible to get to, and if you can't park in their parking lot you could park on the street. I highly recommend getting the Asada supreme burrito. You need to get it with everything. Make sure you get the salsa extra or if not extra on the side the salsa they have is off the chain. to finish up this review place needs at least a five star if not around that 3.9 is just not doing this place justice. Really don't understand why there are so many stars and good reviews for this place. Me and a friend wanted to get a taco truck while in Lodi but it was a mistake. Stockton has way better taco truck options so we should've just went back to town. I got a carne asada torta, my friend got tacos, and my boyfriend got a carne asada super burrito. The meat was so dry! It was really hard to eat because it was so dry. I wish it was a little spicier. There were a lot of people here and it seemed super popular. Maybe we just needed to try al pastor or some other meat. This place would be a last resort if I was craving Mexican food so I probably won't be back. read more

We used to go here often - like three or four times a month. The last time we went was awful and I'll never go back. The carne asada was greasy beyond belief - it leaked grease through the bag. The tacos were the same and the pollo was nasty. There are so many good places to get tacos in Lodi - La Picosita went from #1 to never again...pretty gross. Have been coming here for years off and on. I considered them the best and tastiest taco truck in Lodi. I always tip a couple of bucks because I like them. Last week I ordered a regular burrito and three regular tacos. Instead I got the burrito but "super" tacos. I assumed the extra cost was due to price increases that are occurring everywhere and didn't question it; they are still bargains. The "supers" included cheese on the tacos, which I hate and ended up throwing the tacos away. Came back yesterday hoping they would make it right and while I pay for another burrito, get three tacos for gratis. But no, they in effect told me I might be a liar, so why should they do that.
