I've been getting used to getting such basic, average and even rude service at so many places that when someone like Zoe helps me out, it makes my day! I hate dissing on my local store but it's obvious that with prices going up (which are already more expensive than other stores) product is lacking and more noticeable, staffing shortages. It's obvious those working are feeling it as many seem frustrated in the deli and bakery area. I shop here on a regular basis. But WHY does everyone working here hate their life!?!? Nobody is ever happy. Just this evening everyone was trying to get out of helping somebody in the bakery who needed a cake and the gal who ended up having to help the person in the bakery put her hands up and said I'm going to quit! This store is a mess! The deli has old spoiled food in the salad case, the kids that work in the deli and bakery straight up ignore you & are rude! I'll shop at Walmart for now on, I hate to say it but Walmart has way better customer service! This is a rating for the bakery. I went in for a strawberry shortcake which sadly they were all sold out of. The women who was working in the bakery was super busy but offered to make one for me. I could see she was stressed but she didn't say a word, she just made a cake like she offered. I wanted to thank her because the cake was for my dog as part of his last meal. I ran in to grab a couple boxes of crackers and some red wine. I get to check out line and waited. Not because the store was busy, but because the cashier, an older, burly gentleman, was too busy socializing with with another employee that it took him some time to even notice me. When he finally walked over, he never greeted me. He just started ringing up my items. I thought that was odd. I've never been to a Raley's store and not been greeted. All the employees are usually polite and very helpful. The only time this guy spoke to me was when he asked me my age for the wine, and if I wanted my groceries bagged. I would've just let it go, but there was a nice looking gentleman who was behind me in line. The employee greeted him with such enthusiasm that I was a bit offended. Worst customer service I've ever experienced at a Raley's store. If the staff doesn't completely ignore you, are you really even in the Galt Raley's? Lol. 9 times out of 10 customers can expect to go through the check out line and not a word is spoken by the clerks and after you've spent your hard earned money on groceries, your receipt will be handed to you without a "thank you". According to coworkers management does not enforce mask wearing. For the safety of the staff and customers this should be required. Put your staff first! Today I witnessed 2 men in the parking lot of Raley's talking saying "let them tell me...I'm not wearing a fucking mask". They walked through the store as if they were looking for someone to approach them almost wanting someone to in an obvious aggressive manner. These are the people who make safety an issue. This Raleys feels like a Walmart with how customer service is so poor. They really know how to make a customer feel welcome with a sheriff deputy at the front door with a mug face and attitude when you walk in. The customer service manager is more concerned with watching cameras than helping people at the desk. As stated in comments before the checkout staff seem very miserable to be working there. They don't seemed to be trained into customer service. Looks like they just show up for a check and go home. Store feels very off. I'm gonna start going out to Lodi now for my groceries. read more

I normally do my grocery shopping at the Walmart across the street but after the pandemic and people panicking, it looked like 70% of the groceries and essentials would go missing by the time I'm there. I came in 4 days after shelter-in-place took happened looking for simple meat for a simple dinner. They had it! They were stocked up on most of my essential needs like detergent, soap, napkins, paper plates, meat, beans, plent of fruits and veggies. I'd say 5% of the shelves were empty and there were signs allowing customers a limit of 2 for certain items. Coming here (compared to walmart across the street) and paying a little extra felt wonderful knowing that I can still buy some of the things I want/needed. I seen workers stocking up by the minute and checking up on empty shelves to make sure they stayed stocked. Raleys and their employees have been fantastic and helpful during this pandemic. Nurse's aren't the only heroes. :) read more

My buddy and I were on this way up to Sacramento to visit a skate park, and this Raley's seemed a safe choice on the way. Out of all grocery stores in Northern California, Raley's is my favorite. This one had a different layout that any other I've tried. We ended up finding the water aisle to get water, and got Mountain Dew Kickstarts (as cheap as Walmart!) up front near the registers. The cashier was very pleasant and despite so many customers, everything was moving quickly. Raley's is always a bit pricey but the rewards program seems helpful when you have their filling station nearby--which it was. read more

I love the bakery & the whole store. However the rockstar for me today was Gwen she did my cake for my 5 year old. I ordered it late in the evening the day before. She was into the details on my cake and what I wanted. Fresh strawberries inside so good. Then when I went to pick it up she told me that she got decorate my cake for me. Extremely disappointed in the engagement cake I ordered from Raley's. Specifically asked that writing and ring was done in gold., they wrote this on order form. The ring itself is horrible. Nothing elegant about this. The lady assured me cake would be ready at 11am for our surprise engagement party and when my mother in law arrived it wasn't and she had to wait for them to do it. By the looks of it I think they started and finished it after her arrival. I would have rather them tell me they couldn't do it so I could order what I wanted from somewhere else. This location has the worst customer service. Also the discrimination I have endured by several of their employees is ridiculous. I am a person of color and every time I walk into to the store and go to self check out the person at the register overseeing everything glances at me to make sure I have a receipt. They also never greet me on my way out, they just give me a nasty glare and go back to what they were doing. This happens every time without fail. E-Cart online buyers beware!!! IF you use this service at this store, you MUST check to make sure you receive every item you ordered (and paid for!). I mean take everything out of the bags and visually check against your order. My experience: The first time I used this service (months ago, before this current situation), I did receive all that I had ordered, probably 15 or so items. I also ended up with one item, a large package of chicken legs and thighs, that I did not order. I immediately called the store and let them know and offered to return it. I was told to just keep it. On Monday, 3/16, in the midst of the current crisis, I used this service for the second time. I ordered 27 items for a total of $104 before tax. When I arrived and parked in the e-cart space, I called and gave my name. About 5 minutes later a young gal came out with my order. I saw some things that I did not order and said so. The young lady started reading the receipt and I told her she had the wrong order (the name was somewhat similar to mine - understandable mistake). She went back in and came out about 10 minutes later. This time she handed me the correct receipt and I signed - without taking everything out of the bags to check that ALL of the order was there - that I received the order. Once home, my husband and I both put groceries away, so I did not realize that several items were missing - probably one entire bag! I was busy out of town on Tuesday, so it wasn't until this morning that I realized...Hey! Several items were missing! Meat items, butter, and broccoli totaling about $30! I stopped by Raley's this morning to tell them about the missing items. The person at the service desk basically said, "Sorry about that" with a rather bored, non-caring attitude. Her excuse was "we have many new people and a much higher demand for this service." I agreed that I am sure this is true, but I will not be using the service again and that I was going to write a review warning people about this issue. Her response was "Okay. Sorry." The meat that I get here is incredible and they have good specials that I shop for; i.e., 30% off wine if you get 6, great beer selection and other items that I like including a good assortment of cheeses and deserts. The vegetables are good but more pricey. What I don't like are some of the crabapples that wait on you. Today went to the fast lane (big mistake) and my machine locks up for assistance. The crabapple who was stationed there was doing something with some incident outside. I told her I needed help and she just about bit my head off stating that she was busy YIKES. How about saying it in a more pleasant tone. Damn. There are checkers that I really like (and some that I don't), and last weekend a Hispanic man checked me out. Please put him up front checking more. He's so pleasant and a great checker too. By comparison, SaveMart almost 90% of the time has checkers who are PLEASANT. Seriously, improve is needed in customer service satisfaction. This would have gotten a 4 star review but 1 star off for checkers who are not courteous. read more

I have shopped here for years. The customer service has recently improved due to change in personnel at the check out. Thank you. The next issue to improve is the produce department. I have bought five melons and out of the five one has been good. The other melons may have been frozen, dropped or unripe. This seems typical of the poor produce at this store. The carrots are wonderful and many greens; however, the produce section is lackluster and unappealing. It is always iffy if the food is any good. Sorry, but Walmart across the street or Savemart in town is providing a competitive edge on the produce section. Honestly, alcohol and dairy varieties are the only upscale items the other stores do not have. Parking lot is nice. read more

Store is fine but gas station I will avoid going to at all costs. Our debit cards have been cloned here (along with many neighbors) twice in the last year. This is the only location we have all been to that we've used our cards at. The pumps are poorly maintained and the scanners for discounts are often broken. Avoid the gas station if you can. Very happy to see the measures Raley's has put in place in view of the Covid19 pandemic. As a senior, going to the store has become my most stressful essential outing. But having the sneeze guards in place at checkout, and marked spaces to keep a safe distance while waiting in line, and controlling the over-buying of paper items by keeping them at checkout, has all made this easier for me. So much better than my recent experiences at Walmart. Yes, the prices are higher. But safety measures make it worth it to me. read more
