Out of the way location, with a warm and intimate feel inside. Top notch service with high end bar selections and wine collection. The side dishes and dessert were spectacular. Why I rated this low was the cut of meat for the Prime Rib au jus. As with many of my steak dinning experiences in Texas, volume does not make up for a bad cut of meat. 16 oz is too much, no matter the price. While the steak was cooked perfectly, the amount of gristle that was tough to cut with the steak knife left about 8 oz on the plate when I gave up. To avoid disrupting an otherwise great dinning experience, I was unable to bring this to the attention of the manager. Given how well the place is run, I would suggest they would have made things right, but i never gave them a chance. I would try this place again, and would expect to find my experience was not repeated. At least one other member of our 4 member party had the same problem. read more

The food was ok but very over priced for just "ok" food. I had to send my bleeding undercooked filet back and the second was very over cooked but I ate it because my husband was waiting for it to come out. Nothing too special about the wedged salad or the sides. read more

very overrated... the food was good but not amazingly better than any other nice place...actually Rockfish is so much better in our opinion and more reasonable & very strong delicious margartitas for much less than we paid...seriously... won't go there again...$7 for a baked potato that wasn't even that big or fresh...we had the las brisas salmon and the prime rib... we had an attentive waiter but definitely a smooth talker saying "i'll hook you up on the margaritas" adding 2 extra ingredients that were $2 more for each thing...$155 for 2 people I would expect to feel it was the best meal I've ever eaten but it wasn't... the atmosphere was nothing special either... read more

Took my wife to Las Brisas for her birthday. The food was very good although somewhat expensive. We had wedge salad & filets. Filets were prepare correctly. Entree came with asparagus. The ambiance was not great. Most places where I spend 50+/person, are usually fairly quiet. This is not the case here. Service staff loudly threw beer bottles in trash near our table. Wait staff could be overheard talking about work schedule and other items. The dining area seemed more like Furrs cafeteria than a $$$ restaurant. I come to the Lubbock area regularly, and one of the nicest things we do is hunt down a good restaurant. I get suggestions every time. Sometimes they are complete misses. But this place was a huge win. Maybe it was just that I was starving, but the food was about as delicious as anything I've ever had, cooked perfectly. Had not been to Las Brisas in a long time. What I found appalling was the prices! I'm sorry this is West Texas and not a large Market steakhouse that you can charge $40 for mid level meat and seafood. Yes, it's a white table cloth restaurant but if you are going to have those high prices for the same menu you have had for years then the whole level of dining needs to change! No kids, no t-shirts and jeans, no baseball hats, a sport coat is required for all men! Let's be real. The wine list was even more appalling!! Wine by the glass for 5oz of wine was no less than $15! For the selections Las Brisas had I could go to Specs or Market Street and buy a full bottle! And then a full bottle - nothing less than $100! Whaaa! That's insane and not right. I could get a martini for $10, though .... I had Chilean Sea Bass and they torched the top of the fish. The body of the fish was still good but the charred top tasted like fish dust and then they covered it up with heavy sauce - so the nice light flavor of the fish was lost. Oh and my vegetable was broccoli stems. Our waiter sealed the deal ... he was snippy and rude. Sorry our group got downsized from 8 to 5 and all you saw were dollar signs but be glad we didn't order water and appetizers!! He also would also take plates and items from the table without asking. This waiter acted like he was on something ... even ran after us outside the restaurant accusing my friend she didn't leave him a receipt! I'm sorry that this once gem of restaurant has taken a turn for the worse!! It was a Friday night and not even half the restaurant was full. I know this restaurant is now owned by someone out of state but note to the owners - do your market research or you won't have a restaurant much longer!! This place at one time was a great place to dine, but over the last few years it's gotten to where they nickel and dime you death for everything here. My wife and I went in to eat Brunch on Sunday June 11 2017. Brunch is my wife's favorite meal to eat period. First of all they never keep a consistent menu so if you like something they offer don't get excited about it being there the next time you go in because chances are it may or may not be. We ordered the quesadillas and I wanted an order of pancakes which comes with 2 and since the original meal "Texas Breakfast" or something like that had pancakes with it was and no longer part of the menu. Well the meal was ok, but the waiter was a little cocky and snickered every time I had to remind him of what we had already told him in the first place like it irritated him. Long story short those two pancakes were $13.00. We had already stopped eating dinner here because you can't get out of this place with dropping $100 bill and that is without drinks. Needless to say that was our last visit to Las Brisas and good riddance! read more

My wife and I took a friend to La Brisas for his collge graduation dinner. We had read a number of bad reviews on this restaurant but were more than pleasantly surprised. We arrived at around 7:00 pm without reservations but we were promptly greeted and seated in the Cantina area. Our waitress was a Texas Tech student and could not have been nicer. Our service was first class throughout our dinner. We all started with ceasar salads, which were quite tasty in that tortilla chips were crushed in with the ceasar dressing. For our entrees, we each ordered something different, with one of us getting the 24 oz bone-in ribeye, one the regular 16 oz ribeye and one prime rib. All of the steaks were cooked to perfection, well seasoned and tender. We ended our meal with one apple dumpling dessert and my wife and I shared the kahlua-infused creme brulee. Being from out of town, my sister and I asked for recommendations for a good, local steak place. (price no object) Las Brisas came highly recommended. What a disappointment! Possibly the worst food I have ever had. We started with arancini (stuffed rice balls) which came out swimming in an almost tomato cream sauce - some cream and lots of canned stewed tomatoes. Comprised of mostly meat the dish was more like fried Swedish meatballs than the arancini we have come to know and anticipate. We moved on to rib eyes - prepared rare. The waiter pushed the "prime" cut at approx. $20 more per steak. The steaks came out on a sizzling plate. By the time the meat had cooled enough to eat, the steaks were medium. The mashed potatoes were cold, and microwaving did not enhance the flavor. The chef's vegetable - sugar snap peas were hot on the outside and cooler on the inside from just sitting on the sizzling plate. Finally the ambiance was nothing to write home about - a large room filled with four tops jammed almost elbow to elbow. Service was haphazard and server was condescending. read more
