We walked in to a sign that said please wait to be seated...to not be seated. The busser..or someone who seemed like a busser came to inform us he would be happy to help us but the bartender would be our server. Which would have been fine. It was clear since we weren't regulars they didn't care about paying any attention to us. We had to wait to get another cocktail...which were delicious. But our food order got 'lost' and the kitchen never got our food ticket. Then our food quickly came. My burrito...as massive as it was, was covered in marinara sauce. With no flavor. We weren't offered salt, pepper, hot sauce...nothing. We weren't checked on after receiving our food. However, the server who was actually working was trying every other patrons food, licking her fingers, biting into burritos, DRINKING DRINKS, all from right on the bar rail. As if she wasn't working. Which she clearly wasn't, since she never once washed her hands after she licked them, also never helped us. Such a disgrace. Only go to this bar if you're a regular. You'll get much better service. As for the gentleman who actually helped us. I'd give him 5 stars. He was the only one actually working and caring about the guests. I left still starving and disgusted with the level of service this place provided. Came here with my sis and her friend. It was Margarita Monday - $5 Margaritas. They had some interesting sounding ones, like Avocado Marg. Um, but we didn't get it. I didn't get any. My sis got the fish tacos with beans and rice, which I tried and it was good. I didn't get anything because I stuffed my face prior to coming, but would love to come back and try to Avo Margarita. Biggest fan of their happy hour. Highly reccomend the blackened fish tacos. Make sure to finish with a scoop of their dulche del leche ice cream. You won't find it on there menu as it is paired with another dessert but if you ask they will serve it to you by the scoop. read more

When the wife and I want to do Mexican that's just a step above the food trucks (El Camion) or the fast foody stuff (Taco Bell or Taco Del Mar) we go to Laredos. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the city. It is admittedly slightly more expensive than the aforementioned options but well worth it in my humble opinion. The drinks are usually strong enough to make the room spin just a little. That's my favorite part. I don't know if I've ever tasted anything on the menu that wasn't the steak fajitas. I'm sorry that's what I like and they do it correctly so why mess with a good thing? Someday I'll get around to tasting something else. The thing you have to try when you come here is the queso dip. I would eat a BUCKET of this sh**! Their salsa is really good too but it's immensely harder to enjoy when it sits next to the queso. If you want to know their weakness and it's not all the time it's the wait staff. Sometimes you might not see them for a while when you need something. My wife and I once waited about 15 minutes for our check because our waitress had a conversation that she needed to have with some people she knew dining in the restaurant. read more

Dang it Yelp!! You tricked me again. I thought with all of the stars for this restaurant that it would be worth while to check out. I was wrong. Also, I figured since they allowed reservations that this would be more of an upscale place. It's nothing more than a mexican, sports bar. I prefer the atmosphere more at the Matador compared to Laredo's. I had their Al Pastor taco plate. It was good and I like the addition of zucchini and corn as a side. I recently went back when a friend from out of town was visiting and they have revamped their menu to include some tasty vegetarian items. Laredos has a somewhat limited happy hour menu and as an added bonus, they have a small outdoor seating area for nice weather days. I would definitely return for margaritas and appetizers. read more

This place advertises itself as a place to watch Dallas Cowboys game so we loaded up and went. When we got there I asked if we could watch the game as they have a dozen or more TV's. The bartender, who controlled the TV, had no idea what NFL Sunday Ticket was saying "all we have is Direct TV". I explained to him that's where it is found. Then the waitress chimed in with "we're a Seahawks bar", in between bitching about various things which she continued to do for the entirety of our visit. The TV we wanted to watch was in an IDF room with no one in it. About 5 Dallas fans sat there and they eventually put the Dallas game on for 5 minutes before two Seahawks fans walked in and the staff changed the channel. No, that wasn't rude at all. As for the food, I had the queso. Being from Texas I expected a cheddar relationship based queso with a certain thickness. Instead they brought out this slop made from crema. Absolute AWFUL. We live nearby so we come here every now and then when I don't feel like cooking. The food and drinks are pretty good. I love the carne asada fries. I love the casual atmosphere too. The service is usually pretty fast. We came last Saturday night and it was pretty busy. The hostess was kind of rude. Not out of her way rude, but just not friendly at all! We came in and asked for a table for two and she said, "Wait a minute." and walked away. I feel like a more appropriate thing to say would be something like, "Ok. I'm just going to go check on a table, I'll be right back." Maybe she was in a bad mood because I didn't see her smile once. My husband and I went here for dinner one night since we live in the neighborhood. The food was mediocre, but what I really disliked about this place was the service. The busing staff was great and friendly. However, our waitress seemed completely disinterested in us. She came by right after we sat down to take our drink orders, but being that we just sat down we didn't know what we wanted yet. It took her forever to come back and take our drink and dinner orders. Once we got our food we waited even longer for her to come to clear our plates and give us the check. She looked at my plate, which I hadn't touched in awhile, three times before I had to explicitly ask for a box. My friend suggested this place for a Saturday lunch, and I am always down for Mexican! I had the Tecate-braised Carnitas Plate. It came with big tender beans that tasted of chili sauce, and oily (in a good way) Spanish rice. The meat was tender and flavorful. Both my flour tortillas, and my friend's corn tortillas (she got the Fish Taco Plate) were house made. The portions were generous, and the server refilled our waters several times. The salsa had a spicy-pizza-sauce flavor, which isn't my favorite, but different strokes. I did really like the vinegary veggie pico that also came with our order of chips and salsa. My friend asked for hot sauce and we got this really tasty chipoltle sauce. I'm not sure where the negative reviews are coming from? Perhaps people who only like ground beef and Colby "tacos"? I say if you can handle a moderate level of spice, this place is awesome! read more
