Great experience! I needed to duplicate my set of keys, and they took care of it in 5 minutes flat in the store. It was $13 for 3 house keys, and they all work perfectly! Will return if I need to. read more

Quick, prompt, friendly service! I like coming to places that take your questions, have the answers right away, and best yet, provide you with your solution. What else could you ask for? Walked in midday on a Friday and there was a person ahead of me. The gentleman, who I assume was Oscar based off of pictures, was able to help us both very quickly while managing incoming calls. I asked for a quote on a car key and got a house key made. I was in and out in less than five minutes. Very quick and efficient service and both of my new keys worked without a hitch. Both keys and a couple accessories (carabiner and tag) cost me $12.22 - very fair pricing. read more

I guess they are not actually 24 hours. I waited two hours in the rain for no one to show. They took down my name, number and address. I called back 5 times over two hours and never spoke with another person again. ZERO STARS! Ended up using Amazing Lock Service, quick and friendly services and less expensive than Laredo quoted me. Expedited me after I shared that I'd been waiting and left hanging by Laredo Lock. Save yourself the hassle and work with a reliable and cheaper company. read more

I hired this company to change 2 locks at my Chicago office. A guy came out in a white mobile locksmith shop. He was lethargic and it grossed us out when he spoke to us because he had the worst dental hygiene my co-workers and I had ever seen. I used to work in a dental office and I thought I'd seen it all, but this guy had the worst plaque and tartar I have ever seen. The tartar completely surrounded each of his teeth. It was beyond gross. BUT this review is based on the fact that we had 2 door locks changed. When he was done, he handed me 7 keys. 6 for one lock and 1 for the other. He would have just handed these to me and been on his way, but my co-worker asked if we could get more copies of the second key and he said his machine was broken. WTF, so I had to waste my time to go get keys made after we spent a fortune on this guy coming to our office. No apology and he wouldn't have said anything if we hadn't asked. Please, do not send out this gross idiot to customers. read more

I needed a key fob made and Laredo did a great job. The had to special order it which took awhile then there were a few delays because of a piece of equipment they need to get the fob working. They kept me up to date, were apologetic and ended up meeting me in my neighborhood to get it set up. read more

Agreed that this place is super fast with making duplicate keys! I stopped in after work and I was only there for 5 minutes at most. Standard keys are $2 each. I like that they also sell key rings there and in multiple sizes. They're not cheap key rings, but they're necessary. I'm definitely coming back for any key copying needs! read more

I came to have a lock re-keyed. Excellent work, took under an hour. Great service. Very knowledgeable. Definitely highly recommend. Reasonable prices. I had called for an estimate at another location, it would have cost 3x more!!! read more

Super fast, nice guys with a sense of humor! Good price.

I called laredo lock while I was away on military orders to get my house locks changed. They said they would call me back and they didn't. My father recommended this company because he had a good experience. I called the company back and they asked for photos of the locks and they would get back to me. Again they didn't. So I finally called back irritated and said if you don't want my business recommend another locksmith company that will contact me back. Finally scheduled a date to change the locks and I was back home. Irritated from lack of communication they gave me an estimated time between 1-3pm to arrive. The person called said they were 15min away at 247 so I called and asked to cancel because the person coming was actually 30-45min away about 330 arrival time. I had plans to attend a wake so I said we had to reschedule. After rescheduling for a different day and time They were still 20 min late. I asked if I would receive a discount since they weren't on time the first time or the second time pushing my time back and they said no because it's an estimated time. I'll never use this company again. I should have know when I called back after the 3rd time to find a different company. read more

The place was closed during posted business hours. There was a guy inside. I called the store, he looked at me and shook his head like, "no i'm not going to talk to you." To be fair, they never made any keys for me, so maybe that would have been great, but I'm not in a rush to go back at all. read more

I went to Laredo Lock Company with the intention of having them rekey a recently purchased lock. When I arrived I showed Oscar my key and he hesitantly told me they could rekey the lock. I could tell something was wrong so I asked him what was wrong. He explained that my key to my house was not secure and recommended I Google "bump key." I Googled the term on my phone and found an image of the key I just gave him. He proceeded to tell me that my key was the easiest key to obtain and that he and the locksmiths have them to try in case people are locked out. Apparently some builders just put these locks on homes and unsuspecting customers never confirm whether the key keeps them safe. Within four hours they were out to my house and rekeyed all the locks. Sergio was on time, respectful, and I do not hesitate to recommend his installations. I feel lucky to have come in contact with these guys and recommend all to use them. read more

Highly recommended by Glavin Security. Well constructed high rise downtown units use commercial Schlage locks (2 key grooves instead of 1). AVAILABILITY -- able to drop by within 1 hr with status call update. SERVICE CALL FEE -- near downtown is less than $100. Cheaper (about $65) outside downtown. Somehow, I think service fees should be reversed as there are more customers downtown. WORK QUALITY/EXPERTISE -- Satisfactory. Work was completed in less than 15 mins. Service Call Fee + 15 Mins of Labor = $140 by credit card. read more

This is a delayed review from over a month ago but i did t want to forget as Sergio was so helpful and kind. He arrived before the locks were ready to be changed and he patiently waited without complaint. Highly recommend this company and Sergio. read more

These guys saved me when I locked myself out, on my roof deck. They were incredibly speedy which was great since it was starting to rain and my house guests had a flight to catch (they were trapped on the roof with me) - the whole thing was incredibly embarrasing and the guy who came to let us in was quick and efficient. $95 later, and about 15 minutes we were back inside. He even ID'd me and made sure my key did work with the lock he picked to ensure I wasn't like spiderman, jumping on the roof and then breaking into the unit ;) read more

Person that answers the phone and handles a customers is an A Hole. I was suppose to pick up a lock today to purchase and he sold it to someone else. With no remorse or apology for his mistake either. I wouldn't recommend this company, especially how they were overcharging me. There are many 5 star establishments elsewhere read more

I hired Laredo Lock to replace three knobs and two locks on my home along with adding a peephole to one of my doors. I felt that the price was fair and the overall service was great. Sergio had an exceptional knowledge about the domain of locks and home security. He provided honest and informed opinions on the best products that would fit my price range and for my home. He even fixed my door to make sure it latches correctly. The one problem I had with the overall experience was just nailing down a quote on the work to be done. I initially tried contacting them on the phone and the conversations went great, but getting the written quote took a while. Granted, I changed the requirements of the project after I received my first quote (specifically trying to get an exact knob design). I ended up having to go into their store to figure out the final logistics of my project. Once I worked with the team at Laredo in person, everything went smoothly - they brought out a large book of all the locks and designs they can acquire from their supplier and scheduled the project to be done a couple days later. I would gladly hire Laredo again in the future - they are knowledgable about home security, provide quality service, and want to give their customers the best value possible. If you plan on working with them for a project larger than getting locked out of your home (e.g. replacing a set of locks with a specific brand or design), I recommend making the trip to their store to plan it out. read more

I live down the street, and I needed a Smart lock rekeyed. One hour later it was done. Great service. Use these guys. Great local business.

Well that was not a great start to the weekend= locked myself out...contacted Laredo since I could see they were close and they sent someone right over. Nice enough guy and was able to get in fairly quickly. read more

Don't go there with your car. I bought 2 extra spare keys online for my ford f 150. I went there to have them programmed. They asked me for $ 50 ahead because he said it is his time and many keys bought online are not good. After 20 minutes he said that key is not good and he can't program it. Next day I went to different locksmith to check these keys . It took them less than 15 minutes . Both keys were good and they were working. I lost only my time and $ 50 with these guys. They don't know how to program the key. I think it's something wrong with computer they have and they don't have enough skills. Another locksmith works only with cars and ignitions . It was piece of cake for him. read more

NEW IGNITION KEYS FOR MY MOPED A very hard task, hard to find keys, Not an easy job THE COST - New moped keys made form the ignition and outcall to my house was quoted at $155 and i paid $155... no surprises here, these guys are honest! THE NEGATIVE - I talked to Oscar when I called, he gave me very fair price that was 15 lower than the best price from 4 or 5 other places I had called. We scheduled a time of 11:30 to 12:30 for a guy to come by in which i moved a meeting to make sure i could be there. 1:20 comes around and not call! I call oscar and he says he will call me back in 20 min and let me know when he get someone. NOTHING! I finally get a call at 2:40. He said he would have someone out and i let him know i was un-happy, however instead of trying to fix it or make the situation worse he got defensive and argued with me about silly facts that i was not talking about. He was lacking COMMON COURTESY and COSTUMER SERVICE SKILLS. IF if was just oscar i would say avoid this place. Good thing it's not. THE PROS - The guy who came was AMAZING! He was a pro at his job and nice as could be. He came in and got the job done faster than anyone else and faster than oscar had quoted ( a couple days ) ended up taking him an hour. He is the best at what he does and if you own a Bike or Ped this your guy. The Verdict - YES... USE THEM. For what oscar lacks in costumer service and punctuality he more than makes up for with quick quality work at a fair price Score Run Down - Office and punctuality - 5/ 10 Work - 10 / 10 Oscar 5/10 Locksmith 10/10 Friendly 10/10 Work time 10/10 Happy Customer read more

These guys rock! My company went green and purchased some used desks with file cabinets. No master key or any copies were given with the desks - after weeks of calling cutters I finally found the nicest, fastest and most reasonably priced key cutters in Chicago! These hard to find keys were no problem for the guys at Laredo! Location is great, Domino is a sweetie and I have over 25 back up keys. Fast, friendly and now my #1 key company in the city. I had an old lock that I needed keys for. I walked in hoping they could help me. They said they could do it (which was awesome since other locksmiths I went to couldn't) and said they'd call me in a couple of hours to let me know when it would be done. Couple of hours turned into 24 hours. I walked back in the next day and asked why they hadn't called me when they said they would. Whoever the dude was turned into a total b*tch and said to me, "I don't have to do anything. Take your stupid lock." Seriously? I didn't realize you were a 10 year old girl in a 40 year old man's body. Never go here again. read more

This place seems to be rarely open at least the 3 times I stopped by, which was during their stated "open hours", the shop was locked up and no one was inside.) After calling them and talking with them in person they told me they expected to get a blank key to work with my vehicle in 2 weeks. So I called back in 2 weeks and was told the keys were delayed and they would have them in stock by the next week. Two weeks after this I went by the shop to see if they had received the blank keys finally only to find the shop locked up @ 10:30am on a Wednesday!!! I called the number and after 10 rings someone answered saying there was no one at the shop but they would return within 30 minutes. So I waited 25 minutes, went into the shop only to find out they still did not have the keys in..... I should have stopped trying to give them my business at that point in time but for some reason I decided to give them one last shot. I ordered a blank key myself and got it within 4 days. I went by their shop last Saturday around 11am and the shop was locked up with the security gates down. Clearly not open for business at all that day... Oh well, I went to another shop less than 5 minutes away from there and they cut the key within 2 two minutes! Save yourself some gas money/time and go to a shop that will actually be open during their stated hours... read more

Laredo helped me with removing a broken key that was stuck inside the lock cylinder. They were very responsive and came to help the same day. However, I believe they are very expensive since I was charged $110 for less than 10 minutes of work. For comparison, I had a different locksmith stop by our building to re-key four locks for $175. I should have asked for an exact price quote before letting the locksmith touch the lock. read more

Gave them the extremely worn out key to my old car and they were able to make a perfectly working copy. They also gave me an extra copy when I made a specific request for a plastic head on the key. Insanely fast! You know those keys that say "do not copy" that you can't find any place that can copy (it's because of the shape of the key that's not commonly carried - it's NOT illegal to copy these, FYI.), they make them! Had keys made here, walk-in. Had quick and efficient service, and all 6 keys cut worked well in the locks. I learned that they also offer security system installation. read more
