While I was craving a rice bowl from Kunfusion I looked up my trusty food cart aps, and I forgot about the carts here at the BG! I love the garlic chicken. It makes you never want to cross the line back to Hawaiian times food ever again! Well unless they are closed here, and you are desperate. When you drive into beer garden's parking lot, you'll notice the teal food truck with the words "Lani moku" on it. After going through the beer garden building, you enter the covered and heated outdoor seating area and the food carts, Lani Moku Grill's truck located on the far right corner. They have a simple menu of offerings, but the variety does not feel lacking. I chose the chicken katsu with rice, mac salad and guava cheesecake the first time that I came here. I thought that the katsu was tasty, but felt that it could use a pinch of salt as seasoning since I am accustomed to eating it plain. However, eaten with the sweet ume sauce given, it tastes amazing. There was a decent amount of rice, and the mac salad made me feel emotional and nostalgic because it tasted much like my mother The guava cheesecake was simply divine, probably one of my new favorite desserts in this town. The second time coming here, I ordered the mixed plate with teriyaki chicken and katsu with rice and mac salad. The katsu was satisfyingly crunchy yet tender and juicy. The teriyaki chicken wasn't anything special, but comfortingly so. The first time I came here, it was around 9 PM on a weekday, so it very quiet, not crowded, and relaxing... 5:30 PM, not so much. If you come during peak eating hours, the parking lot can get quite full, and can get quite noisy, so keep that in mind when deciding when to go. read more

Definitely a fan! I miss spam musubi, mac salad and garlic chicken! The garlic chicken was amazing, I wanted to shovel the whole thing of chicken in my mouth let it stay there for awhile...like forever. The noodles were savory, and garlicky full of flavor, but I wish the rice could've been cooked with less water. That's the only thing I even have to say about my delicious plate of food. Love that Lani Moku is here to mix it up with all the rest of the food truck revelation going on in Eugene! I think it's so appropriate with our Hawaiian Heisman winner and the Ducks going to Nationals!!! Whoo-hoo....oops. Not Yelping about the Ducks. The tempeh was BOMB!! It had great flavor and was just the right amount of crispy. It was some of the best I've had. The pele sauce they used with it was also really good. The noodles were pretty good but tasted even better with sriracha. The slaw was better than most slaws I've had, and same with the mac salad. I truly like Hawaiian food and I am always on the hunt for it. While scrolling through yelp I came across this place. Plus, I haven't been to the Beer Garden, so I guess two birds with one stone. The setting is great and makes for a picnic like experience. I went with my son and went to Lani Moku Grill. We got half pele and half teriyaki chicken with all mac. The teriyaki was a bit too smoky for me and the mac was heavier in texture than most mac salad that I have tried. I wasn't a fan of this texture, but flavor was good. The pele chicken was great and it was the star of the plate. It wasn't too spicy and not to sweet. Just right! The staff was friendly, upbeat, and great. We found this place through yelp as a pitstop on a long road trip down from WA to CA. I would highly recommend coming here if you're doing the same road trip! It's a small 10 min detour from the 5. The food trucks are all located in the back of Beergarden. There were about 4-5 trucks in the back but it seemed like Lani Moku Grill was consistently the busiest. We got greedy and ordered spam musubi, fried noodles, and mixed plate. The portion size is HUGE though, it was def more than enough for 2 people. Spam Musubi: It was just ok. The slice of spam was way too small compared to the amount of rice. In addition the rice was also dry and not very flavorful. I would say pass on this. Fried noodles topped with beef: They reminded me of the egg noodles in Chinese cuisine. The beef itself was what I was disappointed with. The marinade was lost due to excessive amount of sweet chili sauce - the kind you get the supermarket. I liked the noodles though but the addition of all the sweet chili sauce just made everything oily. Mixed plate: We chose Katsu + garlic chicken + side of white rice and asian slaw. Meats were tasty, with a nice, crispy exterior you can dip in the sauce provided. Overall I think food is 3.5 stars but I loved the environment. Beergarden has an abundance of great beers and drinks that went well with all the food on a hot day. If I lived in Eugene I would have loved coming here to just hang out w/ friends. read more

Hands down the best Hawaiian food in town. Love the $2 spam musubi and the Garlic Chicken is dope. The Mac salad is a step above most of the other Hawaiian places. They also have Teriyaki Chicken, Kalua pork, Chicken Katsu, and many other great dishes. Hey I get it trying to stay a float during Covid with that said don't skip steps or forget Quality of food is what we have loved about this place. Tonight I chose to take my family out and we had dinner. 45 min later were all in the bathroom . Just remember if ur preparing food wash hands and keep it fresh, no one likes to think of the place you just ate at gave you contaminated food which we all know how that happens. 4/5 stars for being the greatest Hawaiian joint in Eugene. I had a combo with teriyaki chicken and the katsu with Mac salad with rice. The cashier was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. She was the one with the blue hair + red beanie - def worth a pay raise! Unfortunately, I didn't get to have my Musubi. According to folklore this is the best SPAM Musubi in town that is better than dropping in on a huge wave of Aloha and well, sadness for me. I haven't been this happy and next time I'll show my muhalo by taking amazing pictures of the plates and Musubi. And maybe, a beer! read more

I got the teriyaki beef w/ yakisoba, and a salad w/ Asian sesame dressing. I was trying to be healthy with the salad choice, and that ended up being a huge mistake in hindsight... because they have the best Mac salad ever, which I discovered too late. One of my friends that we ate with let me try the Mac salad and I instantly had buyers remorse. Not Lani Mokus fault, the green salad was fine, but next time I will be ordering the Mac. Really good! Some of the better Hawaiian food I've had in the area. The service is fast and friendly too! We had the Garlic Chicken and the Kalua Pork with the mac salad and fried noodles on the side. All was excellent. I love that the mac salad has a lot of pepper. The teriyaki sauce provided as a condiment is thin and it is heavy on the soy sauce flavor, perfect for me! My wife prefers the thicker and sweeter variety so just be aware if this is also how you like it. We did not try the teriyaki chicken or beef so I am not sure how it comes on those. I've attempted to pickup food from this cart three times during my trips to the beergarden because I've heard good things about their chicken teriyaki and noodles. The first time, I was told they weren't serving noodles after 8:30 because their late night menu started. Fair enough, I'll get something else. My second attempt, I tried calling it in for pickup at 8, but they weren't serving noodles because their late night menu started. Wait, what? So I asked when their late night menu began, and I was told it depends. Ok. Tonight was my last attempt. I came at 7:30, and asked if they were serving noodles and was told that they were actually closing for the night, right after helping a customer in front of me. The hours also show that they're open until 10pm and sometimes as late as midnight. Very inconsistent and not worth my time; just a bad review. read more
