Tony's is the best! He has recently changed the name to Heavenly's bbq. Started eating at his truck in 1999 and still eating at his establishment.

Brisket, sweet potatoes, and beans

Last time I had this place was when it was on River rd. Originally I thought the place was okay. It was always hit, or miss. More misses than hits. So my reviews are a roller coaster. I do not revise a lot of my reviews, but this one is warranted. A few weekends ago I was craving BBQ, we decided to stop here since it was closer than other BBQ places in town. Boy, what a mistake that was. First of all upon walking in I wasn't greeted for some time. The woman behind the counter was busy doing grub hub orders. She was writing them out on a ticket from her tablet. She could have at least greeted me, and said I will be right with you. No acknowledgment what so ever for a while. There was barely any personality once there was interaction. Not customer service like anyway. I ordered 2 brisket plates with beans, and sweet potatoes. While waiting I was reading some reviews. Some were pretty bad. My gut sank, and I was giving this place the benefit of a doubt. When I got home my food was hot, I was happy about that. I am pretty sure it is because the food was put in the microwave. It just had that texture to it. Rubbery, and hard....and extremely hard to eat. I would like to point out that one of the pieces in the picture was not meat at all. It was nothing but gristle! I felt ripped off, and disgusted! I get there is a certain amount of gristle that comes on a piece of brisket, this was straight gristle no meat! The beans were probably the only edible things. I bet they were from a can. The sweet potatoes were disgusting. They never have been consistent with the same flavor. How do you mess up sweet potatoes? I just can't justify going back here, and I sure hope this review saves someone else the trouble. There has been way to many times a person can take a mishap at a place. I am calling it quits. I sorry, especially during these times. There are just better BBQ places in town that not only have better customer service, but better quality food. Truly hope that this place gets better. It just won't be me giving them business.

Pulled pork and links sandwich

Let's just say it's a good thing that they make some good meat. We came in on a Sunday with a group of 5 and a baby at lunch time. The parking lot was full so we assumed it was busy but when we went inside there were maybe three tables with people, not sure if it is employees cars or what but there is very little parking especially if 2 or 3 cars are staff cars. There are also no handicap parking spaces in the lot as well as stairs to get into it which makes it not very accessable to everyone. You order at the counter which is fine but they don't even have a few paper menus for you to look at so if there is more than one party wanting to look at the menu then they are all huddled around the front counter looking at the one menu on the wall while other people are trying to order food. The service was over all pretty good with a few weird exceptions that are kinda out of the hostess control. There was a young girl there maybe about ten not sure if she is the owners daughter or what but she was going in and out of the kitchen and helping bring drinks to the tables and stuff. Now I think it's awesome that she's helping out and learning stuff but I'm also not sure that a kid that young can or does have a food handlers card which would make me question if she should be in the kitchen. We often only get water to drink because none of us drink much soda but they don't even have cups for water, you have to buy a bottle. Not a huge deal but a little annoying. Even if you don't have a soda fountain even just a drink dispenser with tap water out in the dinning room with small cups is better than nothing. On to the food I had the pulled pork plate with Mac and yams. The pulled pork was good but greasy the yams we're nothing special but did have some nice caramelization on them. I wanted fries instead of yams but I was told Fries are not considered a side even tho the cost of fries is the same price as any of the other sides that you would get. Just a little weird that I can't get fries as a side without purchasing them separately even tho I ordered a plate that came with two sides. The Mac was so disappointing, not because it tasted bad tho, in fact the flavor was great but the texture was so so bad. It was very grainy and the noodles were a bit over cooked I wanted to love it but I couldn't. My husband got a pulled pork and links sandwich which he liked but said that it was a touch spicy even tho he ordered mild sauce. Also for 10 bucks the sandwich should come with at least chips if not fries. The other three orders in our party were ribs, Philly cheese steak and fish and chips. The fish and chips we're pretty good but VERY over salted! While there is a roll of paper towels on the table it would be nice to have some wet wipes with things like ribs that are super messy. I do understand that this business is new to this space and may be getting used to running a bigger restaurant as opposed to a food truck or smaller location and I do hope that they will make improvements as they get more comfortable in their new space. Would I come back? Yeah but for now I might order just meat and take it for carry out.

This was the menu photo showing sliced brisket and not chopped

I ordered the brisket family dinner. Instead of 4lbs sliced brisket, I got chopped beef covered w bbq sauce like they use in sandwiches. Spent $96 (including door dash fee and tip) got dried up beef in bbq sauce. Sides were okay. Coleslaw was good, and baked beans were smoky, spicy in brown sugar sauce. Portions were stated to be 12oz but containers not filled. Luckily ordered 4 extra sides or would not have been enough to feed family. We ordered potato salad and they sent macaroni salad which was sub par. Basically Mayo and macaroni. Expected slow cooked sliced brisket like in menu photo. Not at all what we got. Not sure if they were having an off day? I would not recommend to anyone. I try to support local, but the food didn't match the hype.

Twinkies - Two fried, breaded food items with melted cheese visible inside, served in a basket with paper lining, held by a person.

Food had no flavor, they were out of a lot of things. The fried Twinkies we sooo greasy did not even want to take a bite. Would not go back.

This is beef ribs dinner for $15! Two small short ribs and two sides! I don't think it's not worth 15$$$ We called to pick up and this is what we got for beef ribs!! What a disappointment. We thought we got beef ribs not short ribs when we opened the box at home so it was very disappointed. We don't care about short ribs. We really want beef ribs! Not only it was short ribs but also there is 40% of them are fat which I don't like! Sandwich is looking good on the menu but not trying it yet. I don't know if We go back soon.

Waited forever for one pulled pork sandwich to go. In fact everyone in there was waiting, No eating just waiting. Good

Hot link, canned beans and box potato salad

The one star is really 1 to many. We ordered at 5:03 and finally got our to go order at 5:30. The order was very simple, a brisket dinner and hot link dinner, really nothing special especially when the place was empty. We did hear a lot of microwave bells in the kitchen so we were expecting everything to be hot. A short drive back home rendered lukewarm food. Upon opening the boxes, we looked at store bought potato salad (no taste), canned baked beans and beef brisket in chunks. In all of our travels, into real BBQ areas we have never run across cubed beef brisket. It tasted like roast beef with some sauce on it, and no evidence of a smoke ring. The hot link was a real hot link and would have been good except it was covered in some kind of sauce of unknown nature. For 26 bucks, we were highly disappointed and will not return.

Took my Mom there today for an early Valentine's day dinner The place is small and cute. It smelled great as we entered, everything was clean. There were a couple tables filled, we were greeted as we walked in. We went to the counter and checked out the menu. Wow nice selection of options to choose from. We both ordered the catfish dinner. I ordered the collard greens and mac and cheese, my Mom ordered the collard greens and and coleslaw. The food was out very quickly it was hot and fresh. The fish was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked. Our sides were delicious as well. I look forward to trying other things on the menu. This is definitely a place to check out if you want some good southern comfort food

"Pound" of brisket.

I want to love your BBQ, Tony. I really do. At least... what I can get of it. We've been ordering this place on DoorDash since Covid, and the first time, the food was tasty, but the portions were abysmally small. Not a huge deal - it was also pretty cheap, so we figured next time, we'd buy individual sides and get some meat by the pound. Can't go wrong with a whole pound of BBQ! Well... it felt pretty light. It was a better portion, but I couldn't help but feel like it probably wasn't a pound. Got it a couple more times, because again, it was tasty, but seemed pretty light. Finally, today, I decided to whip out my postage scale and weigh my "pound" of brisket - it weighed in at 11.3 ounces, including the butcher paper and container. $15 for this portion of brisket seems pretty ridiculous on its own, but the fact that it's advertised as a full pound is what gets me. It seems obvious that weighing the food wouldn't be that hard - but the staff probably figures that most people won't actually weigh it, especially once it's been delivered by DoorDash. Disappointing cost cutting and purely dishonest business practices.

Can't afford to eat out very often, but have enjoyed every item I've tried on his menu. Just wish the portions were bigger.

The service is hands down the best I've experienced in Oregon -- attentive, kind, and genuinely caring. I'd give top ratings for the food, atmosphere, and overall service without hesitation. The fish and chips are the best I've had in Oregon, perfectly cooked, crispy, and packed with flavor. They truly don't miss when it comes to seasoning. And that special sauce? I loved it so much I started calling it the "Bayou Sauce" because it tastes like it came straight out of New Orleans! It's that good. I'm very picky about smoked meat, but theirs completely won me over. My brother even brought some home for me to try, and it was incredible tender, flavorful, and smoked to perfection. This place in Eugene, has such a strong sense of community. I've never walked into a restaurant and genuinely felt so much love and positive energy. The food was beyond incredible my mom described it as "fire," and she wasn't wrong! The desserts are amazing. You can truly taste how fresh and homemade everything is. I'm also a huge hot wings fan, and their wings are some of my favorites. And don't skip the fresh lemonade -- we had blueberry lemonade, and it was absolutely refreshing and delicious. The gumbo was very tasty. I loved the fresh ingredients used. The flavors were definitely there. Overall, I'm beyond impressed and can't wait to come back. This spot is a true gem!

One bag had my name on it, the other had someone else's name on it. This could have been the fault of the driver or the restaurant, both should have been more vigilant. I ordered a 2-meat plate for myself with mac and cheese and onion rings as the side. My partner got the BBQ chicken sandwich with truffle fries and two pieces of Texas toast. Only my food arrived, split across two bags (one of which didn't even have my name on it). My partner's food was completely missing and in its place were sweet potato fries. He had to order something else and wait for it to come. The sweet potato fries were cold and mushy and didn't have much flavor. My plate was packed in the bag vertically so that all of the grease was leaking out into the bag while it was en route. This meant that the entire container, inside and out, was absolutely covered in grease. I could not touch any part of my meal without getting covered in a thick layer of grease. You might think with all that mess that there wouldn't be any grease left for the food, but you'd be wrong! All of my food was very greasy. The mac and cheese was cold and congealed, like it had been sitting all day. The chicken was alright, but greasy. The brisket was shredded (who shreds brisket????) and VERY greasy. The Texas toast was the greasiest of them all. Every bite I took had a significant amount of grease squishing out into my mouth. It was truly foul. The onion rings were also greasy but that is a bit more forgivable since they are fried. I was really looking forward to a nice BBQ dinner at home after a long, tiring day. Alas, I'm left with a greasy life and a headache. Unless you want health issues from all the grease, skip this place and try a different local BBQ joint.
