I ordered delivery from Bill & Tim's tonight and was incredibly disappointed. One major issue was that only half of my order arrived. One bag had my name on it, the other had someone else's name on it. This could have been the fault of the driver or the restaurant, both should have been more vigilant. I ordered a 2-meat plate for myself with mac and cheese and onion rings as the side. My partner got the BBQ chicken sandwich with truffle fries and two pieces of Texas toast. Only my food arrived, split across two bags (one of which didn't even have my name on it). My partner's food was completely missing and in its place were sweet potato fries. He had to order something else and wait for it to come. The sweet potato fries were cold and mushy and didn't have much flavor. My plate was packed in the bag vertically so that all of the grease was leaking out into the bag while it was en route. This meant that the entire container, inside and out, was absolutely covered in grease. I could not touch any part of my meal without getting covered in a thick layer of grease. You might think with all that mess that there wouldn't be any grease left for the food, but you'd be wrong! All of my food was very greasy. The mac and cheese was cold and congealed, like it had been sitting all day. The chicken was alright, but greasy. The brisket was shredded (who shreds brisket????) and VERY greasy. The Texas toast was the greasiest of them all. Every bite I took had a significant amount of grease squishing out into my mouth. It was truly foul. The onion rings were also greasy but that is a bit more forgivable since they are fried. I was really looking forward to a nice BBQ dinner at home after a long, tiring day. Alas, I'm left with a greasy life and a headache. Unless you want health issues from all the grease, skip this place and try a different local BBQ joint. read more

Great joint right in the heart of Eugene! Friendly staff greeted and took my order. Food came out fast and was delicious. Brisket was good, turkey was VG! Pulled port was ok but still good. Potato salad was bomb, very unique and well executed. Coleslaw wasn't dripping with dressing which made me happy as I hate sog-slaw. The baked beans had a meat and other yummies in there too. Eclectic vibe with a lot of pig and cow statues that made you smile as you looked around. Really liked that they had the condiment "islands" that had sauces, s&p napkins utensils and all. Staff passing by the entire time. Finally went to check on our order, only to find out it had been sitting in a bag on the back counter. I ordered the smoked meats salad via GrubHub. Wow was it good! I'm watching Wimbledon. Could NOT take a break to pick up food. Tim and Bill Wests' Bros is very close by on 13th... The meat is perfectly done, slightly rare, the greens include arugala! And the red onions were perfectly sliced. The salad dressing (hold the blue cheese I am lactose intolerant) was nice and sharp. Maybe it was an off night. Maybe because it was a Wednesday (?!) and it was a slow night. Maybe because it was summer and students weren't around. I will keep trying to give the benefit of any doubt because I hate leaving an unfavorable review. First I will say that the service was great. Very friendly, helpful, attentive. Ambiance here is also good; festive, relaxed, clean. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. Not ALL of it was but the main attraction was. Between 3 of us we got: - potato salad (very good) - coleslaw (pretty standard) - sweet potato fries (over loaded with salt) - baked beans (dry, not warm) - pulled pork (dry, not very flavorful, not warm enough) - brisket (dry, not warm enough, decent flavor) - Brisket Philly Cheesesteak ( this got thumbs up) - margarita (so sweet and sour we added water to it) The sauces including the ranch and fry sauce are all very good and seem to be homemade. Like I said I'd give anything to give it a better rating and hope that it was an off night. As for the shredding....the 2 Meat Plate had two piles of mush that identified itself as pork and beef...and both were about as watery as if they had just been pulled out of a boiling pot of water and mashed with a fork. The sides...mmmm, mmmm....Texas soggy bread, and I do mean soggy/floppy, like straight out of the microwave floppy...then the clump-o-mac & cheese mush, you know, cook the noodles for 4 minutes according to the instructions, so 8 minutes should make them twice as good, right? The pork & beans, OK, they were slightly edible...so I guess those might get a second star, but just those. I get it, this is Oregon and the only smoking people are known for around here only became legal like 10 years ago, so it's not like I was thinking this was going to be an award winning meal ready to take over the Food Network or something, but I'm not kidding when I say this...while in the military I've had multiple MRE's that tasted better, were less watery, and if push came to shove, I'd willingly eat again. Bill & Tim's...let's just say that there are probably homeless people around here who would turn it down. I tried, but I couldn't even finish the substance that identified as meat...even after applying some sauce... I'm a hard no on being a repeat customer. I have driven past Bill & Tim's many times and I have always wanted to stop in. It looks like a legitimate BBQ joint. While the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was not good. I had the brisket and smoked turkey and both were disappointing. The Brisket came out shredded, I've never seen it served that way. While there was a good smokey flavor, there was no sign of it actually being smoked (like a smoke ring). The turkey was a flavorless slab with what I'm assuming as fake grill marks as the protein arrived at room temperature with no hint of smoke flavor. It's sad that Safeway can serve you more flavorful turkey from their deli counter. The Mac n cheese was an overcooked, under-seasoned side. The cucumber and mint salad was refreshing and delicious. This entire experience was a waste of $25+. I guess some places rest on their location more than others. read more

Good BBQ. Really good Ribs. The chicken is usually really tender and they have a good choice of sides. If you want you fires or tots "extra crispy". you will struggle a bit to get those here, especially with takeout. I take a little bit of exception with their brisket - Hear me out: They chop it all and don't offer sliced. Sliced brisket is amazing! Their's is a little dry usually, and is nowhere near smoky enough. I have some strong brisket opinions and wish that they would smoke it a little lower and slower and work on the paper wrap finish game for the proper posture content. I also wish they offered a brisket and rib combo plate, They do not and if you ask why, it will be a lesson in circular reasoning. They thing I like about Bill and Tim's and the reason for the 4th star is that Eugene is devoid of Great BBQ and they try REALLY hard to make good food at fair prices. They succeed and are our weeknight BBQ fix go to.. They have a good amount of seating and the tables a clean. If you order to-go it is a fast and painless process. Their Sweet tea is yummy. Parking is painful on a Saturday night and a couple of times we have had to park a couple blocks away and navigate side walks, tents, and street crossing in the dark (street lights in the area are almost non-existent). My order arrived with four small sauce cups -- two ranch and two barbecue sauce, which was unexpected. The sandwich was smaller than I expected, but plenty delicious, just saucy enough to be appropriately messy. The tots were pleasantly spicy, plenty crispy, as were the fries. I am far from a barbecue expert, but I found this place to be really good. The pork ribs were expertly cooked. The sauce was smoky and sweet with layers of flavor. I also tried the Luau burger. With pulled pork and a pineapple ring, it was one of the best burgers I have had in Eugene. For a side option I had the bacon and potato salad. It was house made and did not overwhelm with a smoked flavor, something I noticed other barbecue places do. I had a really good meal. The staff were all friendly and genuine. I noticed some reviews were not so positive. Either they used the constructive criticism or the right people were working. What barbecue joint does not serve sliced brisket? I ended up ordering tritip that had almost zero smoke flavor and was pretty chewy. The pulled brisket also had little smoke flavor, no burnt ends mixed in and was bland. The homemade fries were not fresh tasting. The pork and beans were the best thing on the plate. For $66 for three meals I expect better. We won't be back. Good barbecue does not require sauce. I'd like to know exactly how they are "smoking" their meat. read more

I had a couple things. I had the Taquitos appetizer. The corn shells and meat were over cooked in the fryer. It was tinged black on the edges and make the meat inside quite dry.
