The food is OK, but I have to say that the service is in need of some help. The lady that was there the day we went seem to only be able to manage one order at a time. When my friend and I's order was done the modifications that each of us asked to our orders was skipped. We didn't go at a time that was extremely busy so these oversights were unacceptable. I simply ordered the garlic fries rather than regular ones and my friend ordered a different drink than the standard lemonade. We tried Chicken Crossing for the first time last week. We got two fried chicken sandwiches and one order of the fried chicken tenders. We shared an order of potato tots, crossing coleslaw, and the PHP (peach hand pie). The sandwiches were good. They had a bit of a kick from crossing sauce and the slaw. They came in a cool wrapper that you could open and leave on to hold your sandwich together. My kiddo had the tenders. They were a bit of the skinny side so there was a lot of breading for the amount of chicken. The sauce was too spicy for the kid so we gave her some sauce we had at the house. The chicken was pretty tasty and has an interesting marinade made it different than your typical Southern fried chicken. The tots were standard and fine. The coleslaw was a little lackluster and redundant since we had it on the sandwich already. I sort of wish they had a creamy slaw to cut the spicy instead of more spicy (even though it was only a teeny bit spicy). The peach hand pie tasted like fryer oil and the peach filling was a bit bitter. We took our food to go but they have a very cool patio. The owner said they're working on keeping it dry and tweaking their tents. The tables and whole deck are all custom from Northwest Redwood. read more

It's rare to find a good vegan chicken sandwich so when Chicken Crossing opened I was stoked. We've eaten there a couple of times now and I've tried the Vegan Bangkok Hot Chicken Sandwich, Vegan Buffalo Sandwich and the Vegan Chicken Sandwich. All were great and keep.me coming back for more. They didn't get 5 stars because each time my wife orders the regular Chicken it comes slightly pink in the middle still. They've always made it up to us, but it was enough that I couldn't give 5 stars. However, my wife LOVES the Vegan option and we eat this regularly now. We just stay away from the regular Chicken. The owner is a super friendly guy and I enjoy chatting with him about other Vegan restaurants or options in town. He's always interested in learning about new spots. The decor is wonderful. They took this odd corner property and built a gorgeous red wood deck with planters and plenty of shade. I've walked past Chicken Crossing several times, always meaning to give it a try. We took our order home (a fried chicken sandwich, a wildfire chicken sandwich, and bleu ballz tots), and sadly it didn't hold well. We're under 10 minutes away, but the breading was already softening and the bun was getting mushy from the sauces. Admittedly, that's always a hazard when taking food to go, so I tried not to let that affect my overall impression too much. The sandwiches themselves weren't particularly flavorful. My wildfire sandwich was kinda scary looking as I pulled it out of the wrapper (I wasn't expecting the chicken to be completely black - I should've read the ingredients more closely). But ended up being okay. I didn't really get much flavor from the seasoning (mequite, garlic, onion, and vegetable ash), so it basically just hit like a fried chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce. The tots were also kinda disappointing. Since we ordered to go, drizzling the blue cheese dressing over the tots didn't do any favors. Our tots were soggy, and I think I would have rather had the blue cheese on the side. The bleu cheese came through strong, but the dressing still tasted pretty strongly of mayo. These are worthy of praise. Thick, but light (I know it seems implausible) and it easily holds the meal securely in your hand with no mess and without filling you up on bread. Well done! Blue Ballz: tater tots w blue cheese scattered throughout, topped w a light crème sauce and a lemon wedge. Super good... and obviously, blue cheese is very salty, so keep that in mind. I am so happy I stopped here!!! I had just got into town and my sister and I just wanted something simple but with vegan options as well. Came here and sat outside in 40 degree weather eating our overly-delicious meals. We both ordered a "surprise me" one vegan and one regular and both turned out amazing! My chicken sandwich was the best i've had in a really long time. They added their sweet hot mustard and it was so delicious. We also ordered a side of fries and a variety of dipping sauces to try. Highly recommend their house sauce and the hot mustard. Fries are authentic and fresh and their homemade lemonades are very yummy! The customer service was amazing, they even brought out a heater which made our stay a lot more comfortable. Both workers were super friendly and made the experience much better. I have eaten their fried vegan chicken sandwich twice already this November and I WANT MORE! First, the packaging is adorable. The sandwich is enveloped in this twisted wrapper that is meant to keep your fingers clean as you indulge. Then after you open up the wrapping you see their logo braised into the bun. Clever clever marketing. Said bun is light and fluffy. The breaded vegan patty is nicely seasoned and has a wonderful texture. The sweet and sour slaw and pickled ginger assists with a nice crunch and sweetness. I also need to sing the praises of their potato tots. SO GOOD! I would love to try the other vegan options on the menu, but I am such a creature of habit. Once I find something I like I tend to obsessively stick to it. The food is wonderful, and the service is outstanding. The French fries came home with me because there was no way I was leaving anything behind. My chicken sandwich was crispy and well-seasoned. The bad news - the location. It's not a great neighborhood and the road noise on a Saturday afternoon was overwhelming. I counted three sirens during our brief visit. There is no parking. If you can take your order home, that would be the best option. I live too far away for that, so sadly I won't be returning.
