Got the OG vegan chicken sandwich, was really looking forward to it and was disappointed as the bun was stone cold, on a hot sandwich it wouldn't kill you to grill or toast the bun. The food is OK, but I have to say that the service is in need of some help. The lady that was there the day we went seem to only be able to manage one order at a time. When my friend and I's order was done the modifications that each of us asked to our orders was skipped. We didn't go at a time that was extremely busy so these oversights were unacceptable. I simply ordered the garlic fries rather than regular ones and my friend ordered a different drink than the standard lemonade. This was an online order, so no note on the service or ambiance. The chicken was big, juicy, filling, and the coleslaw was yummy. Not that overly processed sweet stuff I typically run across-this was more savory! And the pickled ginger was amazing. Think Southern with a dash of Asian influence. The house made fries were soft and yummy, and would be perfect for ranch. The only downside was that they were so salty. I never knew that pickled ginger was good on a chicken sandwich! Yum! We tried Chicken Crossing for the first time last week. We got two fried chicken sandwiches and one order of the fried chicken tenders. We shared an order of potato tots, crossing coleslaw, and the PHP (peach hand pie). The sandwiches were good. They had a bit of a kick from crossing sauce and the slaw. They came in a cool wrapper that you could open and leave on to hold your sandwich together. My kiddo had the tenders. They were a bit of the skinny side so there was a lot of breading for the amount of chicken. The sauce was too spicy for the kid so we gave her some sauce we had at the house. The chicken was pretty tasty and has an interesting marinade made it different than your typical Southern fried chicken. The tots were standard and fine. The coleslaw was a little lackluster and redundant since we had it on the sandwich already. I sort of wish they had a creamy slaw to cut the spicy instead of more spicy (even though it was only a teeny bit spicy). The peach hand pie tasted like fryer oil and the peach filling was a bit bitter. We took our food to go but they have a very cool patio. The owner said they're working on keeping it dry and tweaking their tents. The tables and whole deck are all custom from Northwest Redwood. read more

This place is marvelous! I have driven by it a few times, and as a Vegetarian I wasn't tempted for "chicken" place. But, Iooked their menu up online, and was pleased by all their fake-chicken options! I can't wait to go back for their (pseudo)-Chicken & Waffles! It has Marionberry syrup, which sounds amazing. I just started basic the first time I went with the OG sandwich and their fries for the lunch special. And, I got their frozen Lemonade too! I kept it simple, with the classic, but you can get other flavors/syrups as add-ones as well that seem really fun. But, my lunch was delicious and the highlight of my week! I really loved their curry fry seasoning salt as well, it was really flavorful but not over-bearing, it was well balanced. It's rare to find a good vegan chicken sandwich so when Chicken Crossing opened I was stoked. We've eaten there a couple of times now and I've tried the Vegan Bangkok Hot Chicken Sandwich, Vegan Buffalo Sandwich and the Vegan Chicken Sandwich. All were great and keep.me coming back for more. They didn't get 5 stars because each time my wife orders the regular Chicken it comes slightly pink in the middle still. They've always made it up to us, but it was enough that I couldn't give 5 stars. However, my wife LOVES the Vegan option and we eat this regularly now. We just stay away from the regular Chicken. The owner is a super friendly guy and I enjoy chatting with him about other Vegan restaurants or options in town. He's always interested in learning about new spots. The decor is wonderful. They took this odd corner property and built a gorgeous red wood deck with planters and plenty of shade. I've walked past Chicken Crossing several times, always meaning to give it a try. We took our order home (a fried chicken sandwich, a wildfire chicken sandwich, and bleu ballz tots), and sadly it didn't hold well. We're under 10 minutes away, but the breading was already softening and the bun was getting mushy from the sauces. Admittedly, that's always a hazard when taking food to go, so I tried not to let that affect my overall impression too much. The sandwiches themselves weren't particularly flavorful. My wildfire sandwich was kinda scary looking as I pulled it out of the wrapper (I wasn't expecting the chicken to be completely black - I should've read the ingredients more closely). But ended up being okay. I didn't really get much flavor from the seasoning (mequite, garlic, onion, and vegetable ash), so it basically just hit like a fried chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce. The tots were also kinda disappointing. Since we ordered to go, drizzling the blue cheese dressing over the tots didn't do any favors. Our tots were soggy, and I think I would have rather had the blue cheese on the side. The bleu cheese came through strong, but the dressing still tasted pretty strongly of mayo. Fries- both the regular and the black garlic fries- are seasoned really really well. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. All sauces are vegan. Only things on the menu that aren't vegan are the meat patties if you choose them and the waffles (which they say they're eventually hoping to find an equivalent recipe that's vegan). I'm sorry there are no pictures, but the food was SO good we just inhaled it! First off, the owner was just the nicest man! You can tell that he's proud of his craft, and he should be because he's doing it right! I had a vegan OG sandwich, my wife had a vegan wild fire sandwich, we split a large order of black garlic fries and got one of each flavor of the hand pies. Both sandwiches were huge, filling and absolutely delicious. The house made pickles and slaw really shine. The vegan bun was tender and soft and put it all over the top. The garlic fries....OMG!! These are the fries I dream of. I am not a fan of French fries, but I will want these again. They were incredible! Perfectly cooked, a tad sweet, just garlicky enough and finger licking good. I've never had such good fries in my life! It's worth the trip across town just for these! Then there's the hand pies. You don't know hand pies until you've had these. The peach one is from a different dimension. They smoke the peaches first then turn them into a gingery sugary bliss in a delicate and flaky crust that is the glory of all. First time customer today. Special this week: Rainbow Trout sammy/ $14 I ordered the Chicken Sam Delish and pretty to look at. The bun is something I'm always super picky about. These are worthy of praise. Thick, but light (I know it seems implausible) and it easily holds the meal securely in your hand with no mess and without filling you up on bread. Well done! Blue Ballz: tater tots w blue cheese scattered throughout, topped w a light crème sauce and a lemon wedge. Super good... and obviously, blue cheese is very salty, so keep that in mind. Coleslaw: excellent! I'm a coleslaw snob... this is the best slaw I've ever been served in Eugene... other than my house :) PNP: peach pie... no room for another bite... I am so happy I stopped here!!! I had just got into town and my sister and I just wanted something simple but with vegan options as well. Came here and sat outside in 40 degree weather eating our overly-delicious meals. We both ordered a "surprise me" one vegan and one regular and both turned out amazing! My chicken sandwich was the best i've had in a really long time. They added their sweet hot mustard and it was so delicious. We also ordered a side of fries and a variety of dipping sauces to try. Highly recommend their house sauce and the hot mustard. Fries are authentic and fresh and their homemade lemonades are very yummy! The customer service was amazing, they even brought out a heater which made our stay a lot more comfortable. Both workers were super friendly and made the experience much better. My kids ordered the strips and it was delicious and was still fresh when we got home to eat. I could see where the super soft bun could get soggy if you ordered it for delivery, but the flavors are great and unique! Service was fast and friendly. We brought our food home because we were worried that the busy corner wouldn't be a nice atmosphere, but once you're in the porch area you're kind of separated from the traffic and it wouldn't be a bad place for a casual meal at all. read more

This place is my current favorite place to stop at when I need something quick and delicious to eat for take home. I have eaten their fried vegan chicken sandwich twice already this November and I WANT MORE! First, the packaging is adorable. The sandwich is enveloped in this twisted wrapper that is meant to keep your fingers clean as you indulge. Then after you open up the wrapping you see their logo braised into the bun. Clever clever marketing. Said bun is light and fluffy. The breaded vegan patty is nicely seasoned and has a wonderful texture. The sweet and sour slaw and pickled ginger assists with a nice crunch and sweetness. I also need to sing the praises of their potato tots. SO GOOD! I would love to try the other vegan options on the menu, but I am such a creature of habit. Once I find something I like I tend to obsessively stick to it. The food is wonderful, and the service is outstanding. The French fries came home with me because there was no way I was leaving anything behind. My chicken sandwich was crispy and well-seasoned. The bad news - the location. It's not a great neighborhood and the road noise on a Saturday afternoon was overwhelming. I counted three sirens during our brief visit. There is no parking. If you can take your order home, that would be the best option. I live too far away for that, so sadly I won't be returning. Hers was ok, but overpriced for the quality. Mine was burnt to the point of being inedible and took 25 minutes despite being the only customers. It's very possible this was a one off based on the other reviews. The main guys who run it weren't there that day and the crew seemed unfamiliar with how to make the spicy sandwich, asking each other questions. I came up to Eugene from Los Angeles after hearing about this new chicken place that I just had to try. Holy cow this is simply the best chicken sandwich I have ever had! Everything about the sandwich is just perfectly done. It starts with a high quality chicken thigh (a must for any decent sandwich for me - keep the breasts away!) which you can tell has been treated well. It was cooked perfectly and was so delicious throughout! The breading - oh my god - I can't even fathom what the spice blend is as it was simply mind-blowing; every bite sends you on a journey across the world, from India to Thailand to the chicken my North Carolinian mom used to make (in case you had any doubt that I know my chicken). It was also fried beautifully. After many attempts to fry chicken at home I can really appreciate the artistry in getting a piece of chicken so perfectly crispy and not soggy or oily.
