I called before hand to make sure I had the right location. They offered samples to try but that just made me spend more money. I ate in my truck but the owners knocked on my window to see how I liked it and if I needed any additional napkins.

The brisket burnt ends were on point--easily the best I've had. The smoked clam chowder was also outstanding, and honestly the best clam chowder I've come across anywhere. We went back the next day, but the burnt ends and chowder are only served on certain days. I ended up getting the fried okra and a brisket sandwich. The okra was cooked perfectly, and the brisket sandwich was so tender it didn't even need a knife. Pro tip: ask for your brisket "extra juicy." The staff was great. Mary brought us their house-made honey mustard, and it was incredible--we ended up dipping both our fries and okra in it. One of the cooks even came out to talk with us, which was a nice touch. Hands down, some of the best brisket I've had. Definitely worth checking out if you're in town.

It took about 10 - 15 minutes before we were called back to pickup our order. The order came in a paper/cardboard bowl lined with paper. You really couldn't tell much since it was covered with nacho cheese sauce and bbq sauce. First few chips came up with...sauce which was cold. Surprising since nachos should be served warm. When I got a piece of chicken, it was small and barely warm. The chips were but a handful and cold. We did not find much chicken and for the $18.00 felt we were taken. Disappointed! By over charging and hiding the lack of meat, you have lost people who were regulars at the Dexter Lake Club.

Also cole slaw and cornbread. Everything was very good, I also grabbed three of the sauces - Oregon gold, spicy, and sweet. I'll be honest - I think the spicy and sweet were commercially made with a high fructose corn syrup base. I could be totally wrong on this however in my opinion the spicy and sweet were mid sauces at best. The Oregon gold however seemed more home made and mustard based at that. Again I could be wrong but I found myself eating the meats without sauce or with Oregon gold. And I was eating the meats without sauce not because the spicy and sweet sauces were mid but because the meats were actually pretty good without the sauce! Cole slaw comes with pepitas on it (for crunch I guess??) and which is fine just not something I'd do. Cornbread was good as well and came with whipped honey butter.
