This place is amazing! I've been wanting to try it for a while, and finally got a chance today. Seriously so good! I ordered a Brianna style arepa and plantains, both were perfection. The plantains were hot, barely sweet, and had great texture. The arepa has black beans, big pieces of avocado, and perfectly seasoned beef. Was each thing big enough to share? Yes! Should I have shared? Also yes! Did I share? NOPE. I ate so many plaintains I couldn't really eat much of the arepa, but I tried. I have leftovers for later, and I'm not mad about it. It may not reheat perfectly, but it will still taste great. I also tried a bite of empanada- they aren't really my thing. It tasted good though, and had a crispy shell. The filling was tasty. If you're an empanada fan, I'd recommend them for sure! They have a soup that needs a couple days notice, and I will for sure be ordering that. If it's half as good as the arepa, it will be worth the order time! Definitely check this little truck out, it's a great addition to the food options in Eugene! read more

I've been here a couple of times and both times I've been really impressed with the flavor, quantity and quality. Today I got the fried plantains with shredded spicy chicken. I LOVE how liberal they are with the avocados. read more

Finally made it out here, this place is awesome! Plantains & arepas were so savory, hot, crispy and chewy, and the meat was delicious, too. The lady was so friendly, too. I wish they were somewhere closer to Eugene - we'd go way more often if they were. read more

Coming from the east coast, I was fortunate to have Colombian Food easily accessible to quell any craving. Then I moved to SD and finding Colombian food became more difficult but still accessible. Moving to the greater Eugene area, I thought Taco-Time was the closest I'd ever get to Comida Colombiana until getting the heads up on El Sitio. My Abuelita (from Bogotá) made a mean empanada and that's the first dish I tried. STELLAR is an understatement as El Sitio does a legit empanada. The empanada filling was perfect and so flavorful and not greasy at all. The Ají salsa that accompanied these 4 empanadas was perfectly seasoned. As soon as I scarfed down my 4, I quickly shared my find with my friends and now all of y'all. I will most definitely be going back (in like 45min) to try something else. Pls try this amazing food from skilled cooks that care about presenting a delicious culinary experience from Colombia. You will not be disappointed in the slightest!!! read more

Wonderful people and absolutely delicious food! I can't wait to eat here whenever I am on this side of Eugene. Just amazing!!

We had empanadas and patacón pisao. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted so good we came back just a few days later and got a repeat. The owner was very friendly. The only downside is if you want yuca frita you have to order 3 days in advance! We'll be back frequently, although it's a schlep from where we live, and when we get to the arepas I'm sure they'll be as excellent as the patacón and empanadas. read more

So good! Drove down from Pdx for quick business meeting. Searched Eater for lunch El Sitio was 1 on several lists. The service was lovely and the food was fresh and delicious. We share 3 between the 2 of us. Worth the drive! read more

Tried the chicken arepa and a side of plantains. It was *chef's kiss* amazing!! Definitely will be coming back. They were very friendly as well :) read more

The owners are really nice and care about your order. They are friendly and caring. The food was very clean, not greasy at all and abundant. I got two different things just because I couldn't decide. Only one thing was not good - FLAVOR The food lacked flavor. Not really tasty and even the salsa for the sope didn't have much good to talk about. However, the food was clean, clean, clean. read more

El Sitio Food Cart - Cheese Arepa and Chicken Patacon - Food Trucks Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

Wow, we tried El Sitio yesterday for the first time, and our food was amazing. I had the arepa llarena (not spicy), and my husband had the chicken chipotle arepa (spicy). We've never had an arepas before, but will definitely be going back. Made from masarepa and griddled, arepas make the most amazing "bread" to hold all the yumminess inside. (The llarena has shredded beef, cheese, avocado, plantain, and pico de gallo). I want another one right now. :) We also tried the passion fruit juice drink which was also fabulous. This place is a little treasure - and the woman who works the truck is a delight. Highly recommended! read more

I remember when I got chorizo with arepa (very popular mix ) and it hit all the right buttons and took me back to when I was a kid in Colombia, I loved it I wish more people would try this amazing food read more

Arepas from these folks are just like your Colombia grandma that you never had made for you when you weren't growing up in Colombia. OMG are they good. Just order the special of the day, wait a few minutes while the really helpful and nice staff make it for you, and then go enjoy your deliciousness. It is AMAZING. read more

I needed to get my Colombian food fix, the lady that helped us she was very nice and friendly. We order empanadas, arepas 2 cheese and one spicy chicken, the food was good but I missed the Colombian encurtido. The lady gave us sample of the chorizo and also a free desert of Maracuya ( Passion Fruit ) that was delicious. read more

I love this place! Not only is the food unique and delicious but the owners are amazing people with excellent customer service skills. This is a food cart downtown Eugene. I bought a few different items so I could try more than one item. I loved it so much, I came back the next day for more of what I loved. If you have food allergies, they'll accommodate happily. The menu does change so the pics of the menu may not represent what you'll find there. The location doesn't have seating but if you walk a block down Willamette, there are other food trucks and lots of seating. Keep in mind, people will share tables without asking and that's ok in this area so keep an open mind :) I highly recommend the food, anything from the menu really. read more

The veggie arepas are delicious and stuffed with all kinds of goodies. The cheese and meaty arepas are less impressive. All they are is flat tortilla pockets with a small layer of cheese inside. The chorizo ones are the exact same thing but with a sausage on the side. Tried to call their number on yelp, but they didn't pick up. When I got there, I asked if they took orders over the phone and they insisted that they did. read more

I've been 3 times in the last 2 weeks and I can't wait to go again! I've only tried the Llanera arepa, but now I crave them. The arepa is cooked perfectly with tender masa and grilled crisp on the outside. The beef is perfectly tender and so tasty, a bit of sliced avocado, pico, and the most perfectly caramelized plantains served piping hot. It is probably enough for 2 people, but I have a hard time sharing. Next time I will stop to take a photo! The family that runs this is friendly and kind. I will branch out to other things eventually! read more

I got the Johnny style and it was fantastic. Chicken, beans, fried plantain and cheese, and the arepa was grilled perfectly. Delicious!

Amazing! I think this is one of the best food carts in town, and prices are super reasonable. We got two kinds of arepas with shredded meat and an empanada-really a perfect meal, my only regret is not getting a full order of empanadas. read more

Fantastic. Great food! Great service. Great prices. The empanadas were perfect and the arepas are worth the visit. 5 stars. Will go back! read more

Yep, yep, yep!!! You gotta try this place. The arepitas are bomb and make me super nostalgic for my grandma's cooking. As a Colombiana who lives in SoCal, I can say that the food here tastes pretty authentic for being so far up north. read more

Fresh and flavorful, with lots of crunch on the outside and a variety of textures and flavors inside. These were my first arepas and I was not disappointed. The vegetarian one was filled with cheese, beans, avocado, and sweet plaintains-surprisingly filling, unsurprisingly delicious. The plain cheese was indistinguishable from a pupusa to my uneducated eyes (please don't excoriate me, those of you from the respective culinary cultures; I love pupusas, too!)? But still tasty. Good price with fast an friendly service. read more

El Sitio Food Cart - Cheese and vegetarian arepas - Food Trucks Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

This is my new favorite food cart. Most, if not all menu items are gluten free, it's easy to find meaty or veggie options, and it's divine. They have a brilliant talent for creating flavor palettes, and getting an arepa and their fruit cocktail drink (fruit cocktail as cut fruit, not as boozy drink) makes for a great flavor palette. The owner gave me a spoonful of their dessert and it took my breath away. So. Good. read more

Holy carp!!! I was really hungry today and hadn't eaten breakfast, and during my 30 minute break I tried El Sitio out of desperation, as it was the only place open with vegan options, and I was amazed! The owner is so sweet and caring, and I can tell she puts love into the food. I'm used to being treated like an alien for my vegana, but she was super cool, and the food was INCREDIBLE! The THICK homemade corn tortilla was hearty and filling, with a wonderful round flavor. The fried plantains were AMAZING, so yummy. The black bean, pico de gallo, and avocado were fresh and delicious. Overall a surprise experience of EXCELLENCE. I will definitely visit again. read more

This is one of my favorite food destinations. The empanadas are excellent, as are the arepas. I like the beef arepa with avocado. Other items are also superbly prepared and served hot. A fine example of Columbia's culinary excellence. There is no area for seating, so we call to order, pick up and take home or eat in the car. Call ahead, and no waiting. BEST FOOD TRUCK IN EUGENE. The other day, I heard myself thinking that my firs pregnancy cravings (if I ever become pregnant) will be for the Vegetarian Arepa at El Sitio. Amazing. I have only lived in Eugene for two weeks and have already brought four visiting friends back with me at different times to experience this delicious food. If you love the intermingling of unique flavors and textures... Imagine sweet plantains, silky avocados, earthy black beans, and delicious drippy cheese... You will love this place. El Sitio has made me a vegetarian. Literally all I need to every day is a vegetarian arepa and I'll be all good. Support this biz! read more

Perhaps the best empanadas I've ever had! The service was also extremely courteous. This place has a Down Home family feeling to it, and I'm definitely going back again. read more

Recently discovered @ Food-cart Festival and fell in love with their arepas; need them again ASAP.

We love this place! Sweet plantains are so delicious and they know how to cook them to hot perfection!

Took 25 minutes to get one sausage on a stick and two cheese filled doughy pancakes (with only three food orders ahead of me). Greasy, bland food, NOT worth the price of $7.50 or the ridiculous wait to receive my order. Should have gone to Subway instead. Do not recommend. read more

Arepas are one of my favorite foods since traveling to Venezuela back in 2007. They're hard to find in the PNW, though, so I learned to make them myself. Just out of curiosity I asked on a Facebook Foodies page if there were any arepas in Eugene and someone suggested El Sitio, a food cart downtown. Finally got to try it out, and Wow! What a find! I had their shredded beef arepa and my husband had the vegetarian one. Both were great. The shredded beef one has a sauce on it that's like a really good barbecue sauce (much better than any barbeque I've found in Eugene to date). Got an empanada on the side and it, too, was delicious! Perfectly crispy crust enclosing a savory filling. The only downside is that there are no tables at this food cart pod. Might be okay for people picking up lunch to take back to the office, but not for out-of-town visitors. We had to eat in the car. Nevertheless, I shall return! read more

I finally gave this food cart a shot today and I am so hating that I hadn't tried them sooner! I got the vegetable arepa and it was divine! Served hot and fast! Plenty of ingredients (lots of avocado) . I thought i could save half for later but i just couldn't stop eating it. The seasoning was perfect...a bit of a kick, but not too much and they serve it with some pico de gallo if you want more spice. There was a sweetness of something in there - some veggie or sauce that i just couldn't pinpoint, but it really helped make the arepa tasty and unique. I will be a regular customer from here on!! read more
