Landmark is an intimate bar/restaurant in Dorchester/Boston. Difficult and stressful to find street parking, but once you're inside the beauty of the place should put you at ease. They have a wide open resturaunt area with two parallel copper bars and 3 large TVs. A great spot to sit and stand to watch the game. I've been here two separate times, and both times had 5 star service (please note that this is a BAR ONLY review) Staff is friendly and professional, food comes out in a quick manner. The drinks I've had are also good, simple house margaritas but were made well. They have a nice selection of craft beers and everything is well priced. I cannot stress enough how phenomenal the Cauliflower is at this establishment. BEST cauliflower I've ever had in any location. For $6.50 it's a steal, because it will fill you up and make your tastebuds crave more even after finishing. Now, I must note that I have only been living in Massachuttes for 1 week at this time (I'm originally from Rural PA). However prior to my Move I frequented the state for work so meeting new people when I'm on travel is second nature to me. The first time I came across landmark was about 1.5 months ago on a Thursday night. Everybody was super friendly and I made two friends that I intend to meet there again in the future. Everybody was all smiles! However, last night I went to the bar alone again and had a completely different experience. as soon as I walked in, was pleasantly greeted by the hostess and made a beeline for the bar. No seats were available, so I went to a corner space to grab myself a beer. However, immediately a drunken "masshole" as the bartender put it, berated me for standing near him? I replied I'm placing a drink order and he said no dont stand here go somewhere else, because the waitresses come here and u are blocking them. I just walked away and then about 30 seconds later his friends came over and blocked the waitresses out completely. They had to ask them to move out of the way.... ok buddy. So a seat cleared up and I take my spot. Had some very pleasant convos with the Barback and bartender while watching the game and having my beer. But anybody I turned to speak casually with I was immediately met with hostility, which is very unusual. I got up to use the restroom, was blocked by the 95% of men who were all in their groups trying to pick up girls. I was shoulder checked several times as I politely excused myself through the crowd. Upon making it to the bathroom, a belligerently intoxicated man came in and asked if I was this one celebrity and then continued to harass me and insinuate that I use heroin??? I was appalled at this, as another guy chimed in with the harassment. I told them to not speak to me again and left the bathroom. I went back to the bar, again being blocked and shoulder checked by the sea of single guys thirsty for any girl that would make eye contact with them. I took my seat and noticed the Nice bartender was in a heated verbal argument with another inebriated guy who didnt like that there was a bouncer that had carded him. This argument was very obnoxious and lasted 3 minutes. Since I'm not from the area, I asked why everybody was being so rude tonight and told the bartender about my two hostile expierences. He said the "massholes" come out on fridays and Saturdays. I cashed out and left him a 40% tip since he was a hardworking bartender and more than respectful to me, as anybody should be to a complete stranger. Morale of the story is DO NOT go to this bar alone on Fri/Sat nights. There is no security to control the "massholes" and you are left to your own resources. I have no doubt I was a target because I was dressed nicely and the girls seemed to be interested in me, judging by the glances and smiles I was getting. So perhaps the guys were jealous of my looks? I'm not sure but I call it "small d*ck syndrome" when strangers are rude and arrogant for no reason. Clearly they wanted to start a Bar fight because I was an easy target being alone, and they were all in groups of 5+. I suggest Landmark invests in security that walks around and takes care of the unruly types that come around, at least on Friday and Saturday nights. I would have reported the second hostile encounter for sure, as extremely offensive things were being said and I would not retaliate because They are all in large groups. Additionally, please do not serve people who are being belligerent. Get them out. It is bad for business. I will be returning but only on weekdays because of this. I was very upset with how I was treated and how the bartender didnt have any resources to fix the issue for him or I. I love the food and service but the people there on the weekends are complete "MASSHOLES" with small d*ck syndrome. PLEASE MGMT DO SOMETHING!!!!! read more

First visit to this pub around 6pm on a Friday night. Parking was challenging. Place was packed at the bar and a birthday party was occupying nearly all but the high tops. We were seated promptly and served our drinks quickly. Food order placement was a little bumpy but everything worked out well. We opted to have all of the food come out as it was ready. We ordered one of the signature bar pizzas which came out quickly with a perfect rim of char around the edges. Fried chicken Caesar sandwich was a hit and was served with impressively crispy fries. Fries could have done with a touch of salt but no shaker on the table and we dispatched them before we could get around to asking. Steak tip entree was cooked nicely and the meat had clearly been marinated and was very flavorful. Mini burgers were larger than expected - bigger than sliders - and were perfectly cooked and very satisfying. I find sliders are often cooked to death and this was a pleasant surprise. Greek salad was generous and ticked all the boxes. Wings we ordered were left off and not missed-we were stuffed! Atmosphere was loud and the place was busy but not at capacity, so be prepared to speak loudly to converse. We will definitely be back to try some more menu items as everything we had was delicious! I need to figure out where I might park for free. We paid almost $10 for a spot hero reservation so we didn't circle around forever or park many blocks away. read more

Horrible food and horrible service. Our waitress came over once to drop off drinks and get orders for food. Didn't see her for the rest of the evening- had to track her down to get the bill. Our orders were wrong and again we couldn't find our waitress to correct it so just settled on trying to eat and just get out of there. Hostess was incredibly rude when we arrived- we asked for a high chair and she never brought it nor did she seem to even acknowledge that we asked her for one. Was nervous to try out this place as it didn't have the best views. However we still did! We got the cold brew espresso martini and strawberry margarita which were both good prices $13 ish each. They had weekly specials even on the weekends and we got the app platter which was $15 and came with 4 ravioli, 4 chicken tenders and 4 potato skins. The servers were all very friendly. I want to give a Shout out!! for Landmark Public House. I had a 60th birthday Brunch there last week, about 50 people in attendance, we used their function room, they set it up perfectly for our needs. The food was delish, many compliments. Landmark has been top tier in helping organize events that I have hosted with them time and time again! In January I held a brunch after my NYE wedding, organizing another event on top of wedding planning can be stressful, but Kelly took all of that away with her eagerness to help with anything and everything that came with hosting this event. I could not have been happier with the beautiful set up and decor done by Kelly and Landmark staff on top of the personalized service each one of my guests received. The brunch presentation was perfect, and guest could not stop raving about the food specifically the chicken ziti and broccoli. Because of this one of our groomsmen decided he was going to host his marathon fundraiser there this past weekend and once again Landmark did not disappoint with their generosity and willingness to help in any way they could. During the fundraiser both the manager and owner checked in several times to make sure we were being met with the best of service. A big thank you to the entire Landmark team! read more

Went at 5pm on Saturday. Four adults two kids. The only thing correct was the drinks. The place was not busy at all but the service was awful. Appetizer came out then 3 of the meals within a few minutes so no enjoying the appetizer. Of the 3 meals received 1 was wrong and had to go back. One person got his fries then his meal about 30 minutes later. When we complained, the waitress just made up excuses and said she doesn't make the food. Blamed it on a party. Never asked how she could make it right. Apparently our complaint upset her and the manager came out. You would think she would apologized and ask what she could do. Instead she was rude and nasty...asked us if we were happy we made the waitress cry! We couldn't get out of there fast enough. As for the business owners response, no one belittled the waitress. Perhaps if she checked in on us once in a while she would have been aware that 3 meals were missing. I am well aware she doesn't cook the food but her job as a waitress is to keep in contact with the kitchen and update customers as to what's going on. All my husband said was...if the restaurant can't handle both a party and regular customers perhaps you shouldn't be doing both. Sure he was annoyed but the waitress made no attempt to check on our table. Perhaps offering something to those whose meal was way behind instead of excuses would have been great customer service. My boyfriend has been talking this place up for a while (he used to go in his 20s), so I was pleased that we were able to get a bar seat on a Thursday night. The last available seats at the bar were on the left side close to the kitchen door. The plan was to have a few drinks and order dinner. I saw the bartender make what looked like an espresso martini. When I asked what it was he said I was right! I asked if he made good ones and he said of course! (my fault - who would say no). Newsflash - it wasn't good. It wasn't baaaaad, but it wasn't bar quality. So, my bf and I are sitting there, looking over the menu and trying to enjoy the Bruins, when we notice that there are about 9 staffers walking around/congregating. Only 1 person that worked there (a female server) was wearing their mask and she seemed to be the only one putting in any work. At any given time, there were 4-6 people to my left, hanging out, drinking energy drinks and beers - all maskless (under the chin is not wearing a mask) and a foot away from me. Then, 2-3 would be at the jukebox or hanging out, maskless at the host stand. The mask mandate was still alive and well in Boston, but not in the Landmark Public House. I would have just shrugged it off if they weren't right on my frickin' elbow, not working, talking, drinking, etc. I told my boyfriend twice that we needed to get the hell out of there - I was being crowded by the maskless staff. We finished our 1 drink, paid the bill and went to The Industry for drinks and the meal that we originally had planned to have at Landmark. Had a great time at Industry. Luckily, it's so close! Kelly is extremely rude and made us feel extremely uncomfortable as she was eying our table with a group of people she knew. On multiple occasions we heard her make comments about us ordering another round to the group and when we overheard and asked her if there was a problem with where we were sitting and she stated no multiple times and that it was "great to see some people her age". As we left someone sat down at the table and the group that was speaking with Kelly rudely confronted the people and had a waitress come over and state the table was reserved yet earlier she said that the group in question had the table on the other side of room and were all set. Unacceptable to treat your patrons in such a manner nevermind because someone you know wants a table! I went there earlier this evening to have a pizza and a couple of drinks with some friends as it started to get busier. After we had almost finished our dinner we were given dirty looks by Kellie who I think is one of the managers and I overheard a conversation she was having with some other patrons About us getting another beer . The patron she was standing with made a rude comment, and made us very uncomfortable.. Let me tell you my bill was almost $200. It wasn't as if I was sitting there not spending money, so I feel that I should've been treated like any other patron and certainly not been rude to by one of the managers. Kellie was more worried about the young kids coming in then she was about patrons currently sitting in the restaurant who were clearly spending money. Unfortunate for them because we go there quite a bit. I will never go back due to the rude Display by that manager. Food is good but not worth being treated like that. We went recently and the food was good and hot. However, it was wild in there with a ton of kids who were just left to their own devices, dancing, running around, making tons of noise, buying dessert across the street and bringing it in. This place is always noisy, and there is no where to go as all of the seating is in the same place. I know that these kids were not the restaurant's responsibility, but it made for a wild experience nonetheless. UPDATE: It's been almost 3 months and we decided to give Landmark another shot... well my wife did. She thought the pizzas looked good so we went back for a drink, a couple apps, and some pie. What a turnaround from opening weekend. We started with buffalo chicken rangoons and warm pretzel bites - both were delish. Our server was super nice and attentive. My Moscow Mule was great. We ordered a couple pizzas for the fam including a half pickle pizza. Yes a freaking PICKLE PIZZA. My kids and pregnant women around the world are hearing the Hallelujah Chorus. And it was actually good! The pizzas WERE great. Tony, the manager, came by and checked on us - making sure everything was alright and he was a great guy - super friendly and added to the vibe in the place. The only thing that wasn't great was dessert. It took for-ever to come out. But all in all, no big deal. I'm happy to update my review, swallow my judginess, and report that we're psyched their so close to home and will be back frequently. This is a bar review. Eehhhh. The beer menu is weak. Someone needs to tell the that this is 2017. The beer game is at a all time high. Bud lights and Stella are not enough. If you enjoy beer, STAY HOME. With that being said I got a drink. Moscow mule and it sucked. There wasn't any goodness in it. It didn't taste great. This place looks great. Good modern look but has old menu of weak tasteless drinks and food. I hope they step up their game. The competition is stiff these days. Very respectful staff and quality food. The menu was updated a few weeks ago, a few days before I shot a 92 at Ridder Farms golf course. After hitting the links me and a few associates decided to head over to Landmark Public House to have a nice lunch in their back patio. The waitress was fantastic and recommended the fried chicken sandwich (has coleslaw and pickles on it, I got it with no pickles). This sandwich was: crispy, juicy and just enough spice to complement the slaw. One of my friends ordered the fish tacos which he very much enjoyed and said he would definitely get again. Overall my first experience at Landmark Public House was great and I heard it has a great nightlife as well! Would recommend to a friend, family member or coworker. read more

I can't say enough about this place. I have been here 3 times in my entire life and all 3 experiences have been just as bad as the last. I almost dread when plans are made to come to this bar. Food is great, space is great. But there is one woman who works here as a bartender that will ruin your day no matter how good of a mood you go into here with. The first time I came she tried to kick one of my friends out for absolutely no reason. He ended up being allowed to stay after she was talked off a ledge. The second time she flipped out at us for ordering drinks from the bar because we were "standing in her area so that's money out of her pocket", how about you be a decent employee and coworker and not be a selfish one. Third time she took personal offense to the fact that I ordered a drink from the bar because this time I tried to order only from her even though she was trying to cover the entire restaurant by herself on a busy weekend day. Oh, and she ended up kicking a friend of mine out anyways. I truly hope I never have to go back here and I'll just end this review now because I'm getting worked up again writing it. So I haven't been to LPH in awhile. My hubby and I stopped in for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks. Our server was ELENA and was super nice! my hubby got the fish & chips which he was very happy with. I had the buffalo chicken quesadilla which was so good. Came here after a family function. We were all starving. They accommodated 18 people very quickly. We were at separate tables but all together in a corner, which without a reservation is pretty great. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese, delicious!! Loaded with meat and cheese, bread was perfectly grilled. Fries were very tasty. Had a few bites of my friend's food too, the chicken pot pie is loaded with veggies and delicious. What a fantastic place! The food was very good, the drinks were wonderful. But, the people were AMAZING! We walked in the door after a long hot day of walking and Kelly, the manager, smiled and offered us a table, mentioning that it was the best positioned under the air conditioner vent in the room! We had a brief, but great chat with her and then started looking at the menus. Madison, our server, stopped by to ask about drinks, and was very knowledgeable about the drink menu and made great suggestions. When it was time to order our food, we threw her for a loop and asked her to just bring what sounded good to her. She stepped right up to the challenge and came back with the fried chicken (her personal favorite). It was fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful meal and a memorable evening! read more

We hosted a bridal shower at Landmark on a Sunday and it was absolutely perfect. The staff made everything so effortless and the booking process with Kelly was very easy and clear. Seems quite a few new, trendy places have been popping up in the Dorchester area due to the influx of new Dot residents. Always good to bring some new blood in. Dorset Hall, one of the newer ones, did not impress. Lucy's is another new one that cropped up, and although I cannot comment on it as I've not visited, I've only heard comme ci comme ca things about it. Landmark, at least from last night's experience, is a pretty nice choice out of these three new joints. Cute place and nice vibe. The food is quite good, taste wise and presentation wise...a step above your usual bar/pub hangout. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Carly, our server was a pro! There is also great people watching if you get a window seat. The drinks were...eh. I had a cosmo when I got there, and it was okay. My friend who joined the table shortly after I got there, also ordered a cosmo. She had to send hers back to fix it. Yet another person ordered a cosmo when they joined us after. They too, were disappointed in it and also sent it back to have it fixed. After the cosmos came back the second time, neither of my friends were still completely satisfied with it, but they didn't want to cause a hassle and return it for a second time. Perhaps it's a wet behind the ears bartender So perhaps your better option is to have a wine or beer. Landmark has a better selection of draft (and bottled) beers, to contrast an earlier review where there were only two beers available at that time, so good to see that Landmark has stepped up their game there. The only other complaint, and it's not the restaurant's fault...the parking lot in the back. Watch out...apparently if your car is 1 minute past the "2 hours parking - STRICTLY ENFORCED" limit, the tow trucks come out in full force and take your car away. After I saw the intimidating signage plastered everywhere in the parking lot, both the hostess and Carly confirmed that indeed, it's in your best interest to move your car. Who wants to have to worry about that when you're supposed to be relaxing and enjoying a night out with friends? BOO to that and hurtful to the business. Granted, two hours should be enough for most, but if you're going to have a couple of drinks at the bar first and then dinner, or you're with a large group, save yourself the trouble and park on the side streets. If Landmark steps up their game with their bartender, they very well may end up the best new place in town. So far, they're off to a good start. read more

Five of us went here this afternoon to take my father in law out for a nice lunch, or so we thought. We were seated right away which was nice, and the server was quick to come over to see if we wanted anything to drink. She filled our waters and brought the drinks that we ordered over fairly quickly. This is where the service becomes pretty much nonexistent. It was nearly 15 minutes before the server came back over to see if we were ready to order. It was not busy at all in the restaurant. There were maybe 6 other people sat in the restaurant. A lot of times, the young waitstaff were just standing around talking with each other. We ordered a couple of salads and apps/fries to start. Once the apps came out, we were never asked if there was anything else we needed. No ketchup on the table for the fries. I had to flag down a different server to ask for ketchup. We sat around with empty drinks for pretty much the entire time we had the apps. Our server walked past the table several times and not once stopped to see if we needed refills. Finally after me turning around and staring at her she comes over and asks what we need. I asked for another soda and more water for the table. She brings me a coke and fills up one persons water and just leaves. All of the other waters were empty. Very odd that she wouldn't fill the others. Again, I have to flag down a different server and say we all wanted waters. Several minutes later our server came back over and filled the rest of the glasses. A little while later, the food comes out. While dropping the food off, our server asks if we need anything else, and at the time we didn't since we just had our drinks refilled. She leaves, and never comes back to the table. I had ordered the quesadilla. It came out cold in the center and the peppers in it were not cooked (very crisp). I wanted to send it back.... but again, the server never even came to see if things were ok with the food. She continued to walk past our table multiple times, and had she been a good, attentive server, she would have noticed I wasn't eating my food. I shouldn't have to continuously flag someone down, so I sat there not eating. My niece ordered the steak tips. They were so burnt they were hardly edible. They came with fries and broccoli. There were barely any fries and more broccoli than steak. The broccoli was AWFUL. I mean this as a serious question to management... have you tried the broccoli? It is so flavorless and bland and chewy. It became a joke amongst my family. My 86 year old father in law tried it (and he never complains about anything) and he said it was the worst thing he's ever tasted. He had to spit it out. Seriously, if you're reading this, try your broccoli and you'll see what I mean. After about half an hour, and me having to turn and look around for the server again, she came over and I told her I was sending the quesadilla back. She asked me if I wanted something else.... yea, maybe 30 minutes ago before my family finished eating. And we sat there with empty drinks again. Our server was awful. She never gave her name. Young girl with a blond ponytail. You definitely need to tell her she should be more attentive to her customers. $100 later and it was such a waste and awful experience. read more
