We've been to the restaurant a number of times over the past few years. The food is good pub food, and the outdoor dining in the summer is very pleasant. The wait service is usually pleasant , but not very efficient. The wait staff needs more training and supervision to keep customers happy to make the experience pleasant one. The Bowery bar is a nice little hidden gem on the Dorchester Milton line. I stopped in one day after driving by it and not noticing there was a bar there. We got the crab Rangoon dip and the popcorn shrimp as starters. It started out good but after a few bites, it was pretty greasy on both the shrimps and the fried chips... We ordered a Caesar salad which was good. It helped clear the grease taste. But the main must try was the steakhouse burger! That was good! I'd definitely order that again when I return. Cute little spot in Dorchester. Really love the decor on the inside, so much to look at definitely check out the fans and how they are spun! The food, the shrimp was crispy and flavorful, I wish whatever batter they used could have done the same on the fish and chips, was crispy but didn't taste like much. The tomato bisque was good, not too creamy. The focaccia grilled cheese was a bit of a mess, super cheesy fluffy but fell apart on me a bit which it had a bit more crisp or crunch to it. The Tator tots homemade delicious, but so so potatoy and could only eat about half and lowkey kind of expensive for what it was. I'd definitely come back as I was eyeing that poutine. Server was kind and attentive to us. Just felt it was a bit expensive for what it was given. The Bowery never disappoints! We come here once or twice a month for brunch or dinner. They have a menu that offers a number of shareable apps, sandwiches, greens and entrees. We recently visited for brunch and had the breakfast sandwich, Cobb salad and the boozy iced coffee with homemade whipped cream. You can also always expect a nice rotating mix of craft beers and ever changing cocktails. We prefer to sit at the bar and the service is always quick and the bartenders are friendly. They also have one of the best patios in Boston. Hands down a great neighborhood place to watch a game or grab a drink and some bites with friends. read more

I had heard the food was great, so I trusted that part, but I was really looking for a private, comfortable space where we could relax and connect. This setup delivered on both fronts. Despite the cold weather outside, the space was warm and inviting. It was beautifully decorated and thoughtfully arranged, making it feel both stylish and intimate. Our server, Ana, was incredible -- attentive and patient the whole time. Since our group didn't all arrive at the same time, she stayed on top of things, making sure everyone was served seamlessly as they joined. We kicked things off with the nachos, adding chicken. It was a good appetizer -- enough for all eight of us to get a taste, but if you're looking to start with something hearty, you might want to order an extra plate. For my main dish, I had the Steak and Eggs Bowl. The eggs were cooked perfectly (I asked for hard scrambled), and the steak was tender and juicy. Every bite was packed with flavor. Did you know that Samuel Adam's Boston Lager has less than 2 ppm gluten content? Did you know that The Bowery Bar has gluten-free buns? I did - which is why I got to order the classic burger + beer combo at The Bowery Bar. I sat at the horseshoe shaped bar which was a prime viewing spot for their giant TVs. I'd bet this is a fun place to watch a sport. My burger was sub par. It was undercooked (I asked for medium & it was borderline rare) & extremely dry. The menu said it was served with "burger sauce" but I couldn't find a drop of sauce on it. The gluten-free bun fell apart after 2 bites (to be expected) which always makes me grumpy about paying EXTRA for a WORSE experience. Service was nice, prompt, & attentive.The horseshoe shaped bar is great for speedy service. All in all, it was an average experience. I probably will not return. read more

I had a reservation for the Yurts on Saturday, December 13th. Unfortunately, most of the people in my group became sick Wednesday into Thursday. Wanting to be responsible and avoid exposing staff or other guests to something contagious, I called on Thursday, December 11th to cancel. The restaurant has a 48-hour cancellation policy, which I completely understand. However, I missed that window by only one hour. Despite the circumstances and the fact that we were trying to do the right thing by not showing up sick, the restaurant refused to refund the deposit. Policies are important, but so is flexibility and consideration for situations involving public health. It's disappointing that, even with such a small timing difference--and with the intention of protecting others--the restaurant was unwilling to make an exception. I don't think keeping the deposit in this case is fair, and it left me with a negative impression of their customer service. read more

Had brunch at The Bowery Bar with a group, and overall it was a great experience. The vibe was fun, the food came out quickly, and our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We were also happy to find that the place was very accommodating for babies--plenty of space and no fuss, which made things easy for our group. , 12 Oysters - Really fresh and clean. A perfect start to the meal. Crab Rangoon Dip - So good! Creamy, flavorful, and loaded with big pieces of crab. A great shareable app. Steak & Eggs Bowl - A favorite--flavorful, hearty, and cooked perfectly. Steak & Blue Salad - Looked great with a generous portion of steak, but the flavor was just okay. Bowery Brunch Bowl - Slightly sweet and filling. A solid option if you want something different. Mexi-Cali Benny - Delicious! Poached eggs were spot on, and the flavors worked really well together. Sangweech - Had lots of mozzarella (which I loved), but the sandwich was on the dry side. Farmer's Market Omelet - Not what I expected. It was a flat egg folded around the toppings, not mixed like a traditional omelet. Cinnamon Roll - Sweet (as you'd expect), soft, and a nice treat to end the meal. One confusing thing, online it says the place is dog-friendly, but when we called to double-check, we were told dogs aren't allowed. Not a big deal for us that day, but good to clarify if you're planning to bring your pup. Overall, we'd definitely come back for the oysters, Crab Rangoon Dip, and the bowls. I have been coming to Bowery for some years now, my current obsession is the Bowery Brunch bowl. Its light but filling. I'm also a big fan of the Samoa boozy iced coffee, it even comes with the girl scout cookie. The patio out back is lovely for spring/summer. There are tables with umbrellas, typically good music and several tv's. I've never had an issue here with friendly service, the people I've encountered are polite and friendly. read more

The ambiance is cute, but the food has been blah. I ordered a burger here twice and it was overcooked everytime. (If I'm wasting calories on a burger, I want it to be excellent.) This place has an excellent reputation, but I'm not quiet sure what all of the fuss is about. Worse, we recently closed on a house nearby, and noticed they have an outdoor patio. We have a dog, and really enjoy walking her to dog friendly restaurants for brunch on the weekend. She get tired out, and it makes for a fun thing to do. We asked, repeatedly, if the patio was dog friendly. We described the size of the dog, and specified, while well trained, she is not a service animal. We were assured repeatedly that the dog would be allowed in the patio. So we showed up confidently with aforementioned dog and we're told the patio was not dog friendly. Honestly, it was embarrassing. We aren't trying to be difficult or break any rules. We are from NY, where pretty much any outdoor dining is dog friendly. I understand this is absolutely not the case in Boston, which is why I make sure to call ahead or ask when I'm in the restaurant dining with humans only, lol. Fortunately, Steel and Rye up the way permits dogs for outdoor dining. We will probably avoid this place for the foreseeable future. read more

I'm really disappointed with how Bowery Bar handled our situation. We had booked a Yurt for my friend's birthday on December 13th, and a few days beforehand several of us came down sick. So not only did she have to miss out on celebrating her own birthday, but she also ended up losing the deposit on top of it. We called on December 11th to cancel--just barely past their 48-hour policy. I understand having guidelines, but I was genuinely surprised that there was no willingness to show any flexibility given the circumstances. We were trying to be considerate by not showing up sick and potentially exposing staff or other guests, but that didn't seem to matter. For the sake of an hour, and in a situation where we were clearly trying to do the right thing, their response felt unnecessarily rigid. It definitely left a negative impression of their customer service. We won't be returning, especially when there are plenty of other places in the city that offer similar yurt experiences and treat customers with more understanding. read more

We ate here the other day. Seated 12 people. I have to say, the waite staff was excellent. It was a bit busy but they were still very attentive and friendy. They also got all of our orders spot on. The food was very good also. I got a burger with fries. It was very good. Cooked perfectly and came out hot. Good size portions. I recommend this place. Atmosphere and decor all were great also. This has to be one of my favorite restaurants in Boston, so much I made sure it was my first and last stop the last time I was in Boston. Their menu is filled with delicious treasures so make sure you go ready to have amazing drinks, appetizers, and mains. The restaurant has a cool indoor aesthetic and has a patio area in the back that will make you feel like you are in a backyard. The Pain Killah from the Bowery. Made with Pusser's Navy Rum, OJ, Coconut, and Pineapple Nutmeg. At the first sip of this drink, I felt like I was on a tropical Christmas. The pineapple nutmeg is creamy and pleasantly balanced. The rum is present and blends in perfectly with the other elements. Crab Rangoon Dip is DELICIOUS. Very creamy and the crab is fresh. The crab taste is not overpowering and is very creamy. Paired with the Fried Wontons is a MUST-HAVE. The Spinach Dip from the Bowery Bar is at the TOP is my list of spinach dips. Is so good we had to go back to get it again. Made of their house cheese blend, caramelized onions, and paired with pita bread. Is so cheesy and creamy. The Mac & Cheese from the Bowery is heavenly. Made of Smoked Gouda, Ritz Cracker Crumbs, and Fresh Herbs it will leave a memorable impression. The shell-shaped pasta serves as a perfect boat for the cheese sauce. Next time I'm in Boston I will be going back to the Bowery for it. Their New England Lobster Roll was my first time having a lobster roll and it was a memorable one, to say the least. The soft brioche bun shelters the DELICIOUS and fresh lobster combined with the crunch of the lettuce and the celery. The lobster was the main attraction of the dish and it did not disappoint, it was nice and fresh and the taste was not overpowering. Paired with some crisp fries. Pj's Espresso Martini from The Bowery Bar is made with Vanilla Vodka, Irish cream, coffee liqueur, and fresh espresso. Is well balanced and pleasant. The vodka is present, but not overpowering. I went on a Friday night and honestly all the other times I've been here I've enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Friday night the service was good and we had a good time but I didn't love the food I ordered. I got the market bowl and it was really more of a salad than a bowl and didn't have much of the Brussels sprouts or sweet potatoes. My boyfriend got fish and chips and it was massive and he enjoyed his meal. Overall I would still go back but I would definitely order something different! read more

The bowery is a great place to grab food and drinks! I went with some friends and we ordered the crab rangoon wonton dip, I got the rigatoni fredo with chicken, and some drinks. My favorite was the rigatoni fredo! It was the perfect temperature, as I like my food on the hotter side and the flavors all meshed really well together. The chicken was cooked well too and was not dry which was lovely. Our server was super nice and accommodating. Hesitated coming here for a long time due to on and off reviews but gave it a try! It didn't disappoint. I would honestly give it a 3.6/5 due to the price because of the add-on. Ordered a watermelon marg, the Burger Deluxe, The Yardbird, and a cookie skillet for dessert. Let me start off with, the flavors did not disappoint! Only complaint was maybe the sweet potato fries I had a bit too much salt for my bf and I's liking. The burger was gigantic! Flavor was great, a bit too many onions, but the patty wasn't over cooked which was great for a medium. I did however add bacon and an egg and each were $2-$3.. a bit excessive I believe. The Yardbird was also super flavorful! Wasn't expecting it to be. A little messy to eat and the bottom bum ended up being a bit soggy. Again, a bit generous with the avocado that it was overpowering. Lastly, cookie skillet was great. Great size, taste great. Warm and delicious. And for $9, honestly not too bad. So overall 3.6 because it was good, above average, but not 4 stars to be great. We ordered the half tray of nachos, the crab Rangoon dip, and the steak and avocado salad. Out of the three, the nachos were the best item. The crab Rangoon dip was very heavy and I felt that the wontons should be cut to a smaller size so that it's easier to eat. Although the steak salad looked beautiful, it was lacking in flavor. We started off with the cinnamon rolls. They hit the spot - soft and just sweet enough. I got the hangover bowl - I'd recommend it! A few friends got the breakfast sandwiches.
