I was near the area and decided to stop in and check out Lamppost Coffee as I've heard great things about them. Typically I drink a latte with an extra shot, but lately I've been loving the lavender syrup in my coffee. My order was a 16oz lavender latte with four shots of espresso (apparently it was the same cost for two extra shots and I will take all the espresso I can get!) and it was very good! The coffee was smooth and the flavor was delicious, but I can't say it was the best I've ever had. All in all, it was still an excellent cup of coffee and the barista was incredibly friendly! When I came in it was not overly crowded and there was essentially no wait to order. My coffee was the perfect temperature, the noise wasn't overwhelming, and the ambiance was overall quite pleasant. I'll be interested to check out the Lamba Latte next time as I've heard good things about it and I will definitely pop in for a latte the next time I'm in the area. Would give zero stars if possible. I entered the shop and was greeted with a slight "hello" from one of the girls behind the bar. However, I stood at the counter for five minutes waiting to order and no one ever approached. As I sit in my car with view of the counter and everyone who's entered since I walked out, I see the young white girl and her companion are immediately greeted and their order taken upon entry to the establishment. I stumbled across lamppost coffee in Hutto and was very well taken care of by the amazing staff who took time to explain the menu and fell in love with the lamba latte. When I came back this time, the barista made it less sweet and it was delicious! Still on the sweeter side, but good nevertheless. I like my coffee semi-sweet and very creamy. I am from the Bay Area where there are countless good coffee shops... but Lamppost is honestly the best I've ever had. I was in the area getting Round Rock Donuts and came here afterwards. I saw on Yelp that they had a Summermoon option and wanted that since that was all I was drinking during my stay in Austin (if I had discovered Lamppost sooner, that wouldn't be the case!). I was told they no longer have Summermoon stuff and recommended the Lamba so we got one to share (just in case we didn't like it). It was initially too sweet but the barista/cashier guy (with the man bun?) kindly adjusted it for me. It was sooo delicious and super creamy! I really wish I got two of them for myself! I could confidently say that this coffee shop is the best one in Round Rock and one of the best coffee shops in Austin. They deserve 5/5 on every aspect ranging from the coffee quality, flavor to the atmosphere. Firstly, let's talk about their coffee. My wife and I ordered a cup of hot the Boss and a cup of iced the Boss (with 1/2 of the moon milk). The drinks were made very professionally as the bartender actually took his time to make the drinks perfectly. The drinks are well balanced with flavors of (strong, bold) expresso, chocolate syrup and distinguishable rich milk. We both enjoyed our coffee. Besides its amazing taste, the coffee was sure condensed with caffeine (by condensed i mean 4 shots of strong, both expresso); so if you're a coffee drinker, you sure would love it as much as we did, but if you can't deal with caffeine, make sure to ask the bartender about the caffeine level of the drink you order. Secondly, the atmosphere is amazing. I didn't stay long as I had to head back to work, but my wife did. She stayed there to work for roughly 4 hours, and, as picky as she is, she enjoyed her time there. The coffee shop offers a strong internets and a lot of seats for people who want to work/study there. The tables are very sturdy, so if you hate those shaky shaky tables, yo would not have any problems with working on the tables they have here. Their music taste was decent, which does help improve her stay a the coffee shop. The employees are very friendly and professional over here even when you stay there to work. I'll be honest I've been eyeing the sign for this place going down 620 to work for at least 6 months now...after looking at the positive Yelp reviews I decided to give it a go this morning. I was happily surprised with how full the place was (love seeing smaller local businesses do well). There's plenty of seating (tables, bar stools, couches, chairs, etc) and people were definitely taking advantage. I saw they were offering pumpkin spice lattes still so I immediately got excited. A 16 oz with almond milk ran me $6.. so a little more than Starbucks but I'm willing to pay a little more for smaller businesses so I didn't care. Taste wise it was pretty good- not the best pumpkin spice latte I've had but the latte art was very pretty and it was tasty. Lamppost Coffee has really smooth coffee. The foam was also done really well on my latte. That's a good indicator of good baristas. The music here is really chill, and the crowd on a saturday midday isn't obnoxious, so i found it a really nice place to do some light reading over coffee. They have a homemade lamba syrup, which the barista said had a cinnamon sugar flavor - so interesting! Unfortunately, i'm not a huge fan of syrups, so i settled for my regular latte which is great. I've had excellent service 2/3 of the time, but I've also gotten some subpar service from some of their baristas. I always get my lattes extra hot and they've come to me standard lukewarm temp a couple of times. They rotate special lattes and it's a house syrup concoction each time I've come.
