Obviously Round Rock isn't going to have the choices that ATX does, and I understand that, but I think you'd be better off saving a couple bucks and either doing it from home, or Starbucks which is a sure thing. I got the cold brew and it was a little too sharp, and my wife had the americano and said it was extremely weak. I don't know if I caught them on a bad day, but I don't think we will be returning. This place used to be good. Lately I've had the worst baristas and service. My drink has been wrong the last 2 times I've been. On Saturday June 5th, I ordered a hot drink and was given an iced latte. Today I ordered a large espresso milkshake with extra espresso and skim milk. The barista was about to make my drink with regular milk in a 12oz cup until I pointed it out to her. Then she hands me my drink and says "we don't use espresso anymore so I added some cold brew" so I got charged .85 extra for 2oz of cold brew? When I asked for a refund on the extra charge another employee is telling me that the concentrated cold brew is just as much caffeine as espresso. 2oz of cold brew is NOT the same as 2 shots of espresso. All this for a drink that was filled 80% of the way, and I was charged $7+ for it. I try and support local but this is ridiculous. read more

This place is a gem. It's been here for awhile and I never got a chance to go in. I have flexibility with work and am able to work remote. I came in here one morning after I dropped off my son I came in here for a coffee coffee and get some work done. I tried the Lamba Latte. WOW! It was so smooth, creamy and sweet. I made a mental note to myself that I only wanted half the Lambda syrup as the original blend was a little to sweet for my taste. The next time I came in a did half and it was perfect. I got a breakfast taco as well and it was satisfying. The salsa was good. The people that work there are nice but lag just a little. Wish the service was a little bit quicker but it's not a deal breaker especially if I'm staying for a little bit to get work done. I would have second thoughts popping in for a to go drink. This place has a lot of seating. There are tables with chairs, counters seating, couches and tables along aong bench with chairs. A great place to get a little work done and get caffeinated. Finally decided it's time to write a review after I realized just how good their coffee and tea are. Went to a few other places in the last two weeks and essentially threw my money away as I did not drink more than a third of drinks at other places. Cold brew: I buy it in bulk to have with me throughout the week for early mornings at school or clinical sites. It's never bitter and I don't get reflux from it if I drink it on an empty stomach. And the price is pretty awesome and it is so much fresher than ones you can buy at the grocery store. Moon milk: I put that **** in everything: coffee or tea. It's sweeeeeeet! And creamy. And dreamy. And I wish I can take it to go as well for my cold brew. Drinks I've had: most of the teas, autumn moon, summer moon, winter moon, iced Boss, slap in the face, espresso milk shake, Italian soda, dirty chai, smoothies, cortado... And a few other concoctions I've requested. You can even choose different beans for your espressos! They don't just have one type! Everything has been delicious and they will happily remake anything you don't like or that isn't up to your standards. Food: I've had pancakes in the morning which are stellar and I wish I could get them all day. I've also had some of the treats from Russell's Bakery that they sell. I like the spinach and cheese croissant. they now have a panini press to make them warm and delicious! The owner: The B man is a very personable fella. He will discuss coffee and tea with you and why things are done the way they do them at Lamppost such as steeping times for teas. He is open to suggestions and feedback and likes to meet his patrons. The staff: they are the best. Never rude. Always helpful and friendly. They are even apologetic about having to kick you out because it's time to close. I especially love Natalie, Jeremy, Sam and Jordan. Very good people skills and they will make suggestions to you if you are clueless. There's a Square rewards program: 10% off purchase after 10 stars are collected. Owner was considering some revisions to this so double check with them. Ok so bottom line: I love this place and I hope it's open forever! read more

Hurray for the opening of this coffee shop! Round Rock needed some alternate options in this area, and luckily Lamppost did not disappoint. The space is large, open and comfortable. HUGE plus for having loads of comfy seating, 2 sofas and a bunch of comfy chairs- for those like me that really really dig this option. I had an americano, and I gotta admit, it was one of the top ones I've had in a long time. The espresso was fantastic, and in fact, really didn't even need sweetener (I'll skip it next time.) The music is mellow, the wifi is working great, and the owner gets everyone's name and welcomes them personally. For those that work from home or just want a quiet place to read, relax or meet friends- you should totally check it out. I went to this place almost every week last year and I'm embarrassed to say that I never left a review. I change up what I get--sometimes Lamba Latte, sometimes just hot tea, other times chai. My kids get the smoothies. Everything drink-wise is spot on. Every single employee is super nice. There are two guys who work there Thursday early afternoons (when we frequent)--one with long dark brown hair, one with short straw colored hair. Those two guys are extremely nice and often bring our order to our table. The vibe is so warm and cozy. We had one problem with a blueberry muffin--the batter was overworked and there were too many blueberries. We showed it to one of the guys and he agreed with us that the muffin had more blueberries than muffin and offered to give us either a refund or different item. I appreciated how they handled the problem. I wanted to make sure I left a review today because I visited a different locally owned coffee shop and was treated so rudely that I said I would always go back to Lamppost when I am in the area. Um okay, here I am sitting here at lamppost coffee, drinking this finely made iced matcha with coconut milk and sweetened with stevia, and looking around like wow what an underground gem. The name alone makes me feel like I'm in a scene of harry potter and hagrid is about to come to tell me I'm a wizard. Not only is the small talk just too fascinating, the laughter of these charismatic baristas over the counter tells me they're doing something right, and that is that love is put into each one of these handcrafted drinks, probably because they like being here, that just makes the coffee taste better. This is the best latte I have ever had. I was very very happy when I tried out lamppost. If this was close to my house I would be a regular. Most of the staff were very friendly and the gentleman making our drinks did an excellent job. The names of the drinks are creative and fun and they have a wide variety to choose from. I wanted so bad for this place to be good, but when I ordered a quad shot 16 oz latte with and little bit of vanilla, I was unimpressed. They gave me a cup that tasted like it was nothing but vanilla. And when I asked them to remake it because I couldn't stomach the sweetness, they gladly did. But the second one was worse. They put shots in that had gone bad over 2 min earlier. They were black going into my drink! Overall I needed coffee and was on a time crunch, so I left. But if a barista is asked to remake a drink, I expect some care to be put into the new drink. To be fair, I am a barista of 6 plus years of experience in Seattle, WA. So although my experience was bad this single time I went, with the single barista that helped us, take it with a grain of sand because I come from the coffee capital of the world and thus have high expectations. read more

I can honestly say that even if the owner wasn't my brother I would still love this coffee shop! I'm not a coffee drinker but I love love LOVE the Spiced Chai Lattes. It taste like Christmas in a cup!! I'm addicted. I come every morning to get a 16oz Spiced Chai (w/ a little bit of moon milk) and a breakfast taco. The breakfast tacos are made fresh every morning and are super yummy. (They also offer really good pancakes.) The atmosphere is pretty awesome and the Pandora station they play fits perfectly with the atmosphere. I have come to the coffee shop as a paying customer every day since they opened...sometimes twice a day to get my chai fix. It's a great place to bring your laptop and just hang out and people watch. Tip: If you love Spiced Chai Lattes you should try the Blended Spiced Chai with whipped cream! It is amazing!!!! It isn't officially on the menu yet but you can still ask for it. So good!! read more

Did not have a good experience here. I really wanted to like it. The guy working the counter was trying to be nice, but not helpful at all. I ordered a pour over coffee and bagel. Bagel came out first, they didn't ask if I wanted cream cheese or anything... weird. Then when the pour over was ready he gave to me completely full, didn't ask if I wanted cream or sugar until after he handed it to me, went to the "cream and sugar" station and there's only sugar... so had to walk back to the counter for cream, causing me to spill a bit. He sees this, gives me a "yikes" glance, and does nothing until I ask for cream, then pours into an extra cup so that I need to pour into my coffee... which was FULL. Would've been nice if he just asked before he filled it completely up. Got to the car and the coffee was not great. Poured it out and went to Starbucks. read more

This is was a wonderful find for me - I will definitely come here again when in the area. I had a lambda ice coffee which, the barista assured me, would 'change my life'. It was pretty darn good! I had them use only 3/4 syrup and it was perfecto. The place was packed! Lots of students here with laptops open. Very friendly, capable service, serene atmosphere with unintrusive music playing. the lamppost is just adorable. it's full of light, there's always a bunch of people all wrapped up in doing their thing and it's just a cheerful environment. the menu has some nice beverages and snacks. i haven't tried them but i like the coffee french press and the chemex, both are for two. today i had the lavender earl grey which was delicious. the staff is super friendly and helpful. it seems like there are a lot of regulars who come in. seating wise there are tables, counter seats, a couch and a coffee table with 2 comfy chairs. i'd say the lamppost is a winner. it's got great drinks and nice snack options, plenty of seating and nice people. read more

We stepped into a great atmosphere. Good vibes and Brian was pleasant and helpful. He used the word "magical" to describe the House syrup flavor latte. And it was. My wife got that drink. I got the pumpkin spice latte. Best pumpkin spice latte ever! Brian asked what brought us in. We mentioned positive reviews. He responded that internet is doing its job. But it's much more than that. Heard about this place from a coworker who loves the drinks and breakfast tacos here. I even tried some of her drink, and it was delicious. I decided to stop by after a class. I saw the sign that breakfast tacos were served until 11, I was in line at 1050 and thought i could still get some since the girl at the counter was still taking online orders and i saw her complete some that had breakfast tacos in their order.
