First timer here... decided to try since it was only about 10 minutes away from my daughter's school after seeing it recommended on the Pflugerville Pfoodies fb page. Really glad I stopped in. The barista gave good recs and I ultimately decided on the lamba latte. The first sip was soothing for my soul They have the menu broken down to what you might like between sweets or regular Americanos/lattes. They also have pastries that I didn't try but next time I plan to! Parking was easy, and I love the style and ambiance this cafe has. Absolute delicious food and excellent coffee! Everything that I've tried on the menu is excellent, a little pricey, but worth it in my opinion if you're looking for something quick and delicious. The baristas are always so nice, very knowledgeable about the menu and can answer any questions you might have. There's a TON of indoor seating (no outdoor seating available). They have arm chairs, a small couch, tables and chairs, and long tables with benches which are great for families or hosting meetings. My only complaint is that their hours are so short and the kitchen closes an hour before they close. So just make sure to come well before closing if you'd like to order food. One of the biggest "chains" of locally owned coffee shops in the northern Austin area has to be Lamppost Coffee. There are two in Round Rock, one off the square in Georgetown, and the one I have come to the most frequently, the Hutto location off East Street. When I was first looking for an apartment in the Hutto area, I decided to try Lamppost to see if Hutto had good coffee and was kind of disappointed that the latte I ordered was not that great in my opinion. After moving to the area and trying their coffee more frequently, my tune has changed on them, and I can say that they are pretty good. Their seasonal drinks are usually what I gravitate toward, like their Orange Chocolate Cortado, their Mr. and Mrs. Claus they served recently, and an espresso tonic I had earlier last year that was great. Their specialty Lamba Latte is one of the best consistent things on their menu. What is their Lamba syrup? I could not tell you, but it is a moderate sweetness that does not taste exactly like a vanilla latte. It has some marshmallow flavors and some caramel flavors as well. What I like most about Lamppost is how bright and naturally well lit their space is. The large windows and doors face the east, so once the sun has risen, you get a pretty well illuminated space by the afternoon. It is great for team meetings, remote work, and anything in between. I will continue coming back to Lamppost because they are the only place in Hutto that can really bring that sunshine with their coffee. Highly impressed! PRICING - A 16oz drip coffee was $3.85 before tax but I purchased an embroidered sweatshirt ($45) so they gave me the drip coffee for free! The drip coffee was what you'd expect... not the darkest roast but it had a nice flavor. It didn't blow me away (not that I would expect a black coffee to every really blow me away) but 'd order this again! This was my first time at this Lamppost Coffee location but I'll definitely be back! Hutto is a little out of the way for where I live but I'd still make the commute to work for the day from here because it was that spacious and accommodating with reliable wifi and charging spots. Cozy, inviting and warm. That is how I describe this place. While it's a coffee shop, it's not your ordinary coffee spot. There is a cute nook in the corner with books for the kids, side shelf has games to play and they even high chairs! We came in to get warm and I pretty much devoured the brownie. Sorry no pic. They can warm it up for you so it pretty much melted in my mouth. Yum! My little played with the toys. Then we played Guess Who and Battleship. Those games bring back nostalgia for me as I used to play both all the time! The icing on the cake is the staff. Very friendly. I've just moved to Hutto, and I love the place, even though there's very few coffee places nearby (and I love coffee). This is not the first time at Lampost Coffee, so I thought it'd be worth dropping a review. Lampost is a small coffeehouse chain with a few stories scattered around. The one in Hutto is located in one of the town's historic buildings, which is beautiful. It has a great, relaxing environment. Perfect for reading, studying, chatting with friends etc. The staff are nice, warm and welcoming, although the service can be painfully slow when there's a bit of line. I like Cappuccino's, but I've found theirs to be too milk heavy, so I opt for the Latte, which is creamy and smooth. I only wish they served it a little hotter (will ask next time). Their breakfast sandwich is very tasty and worth the order. I've had it at least 3 times. Always good! To sum up; tasty food, a lovely ambiance, an amazing building, and ok coffee. First time I've been here. Went with daughter for coffee. They were brewing a great bean today. Today was their Honduras roast beans. OMG it is amazing! Anna was extremely helpful in serving us and told me all about the different roasts they have. Well I loved today's beans I ordered a 5lb bag to pick up later this week. My daughter loves Chia latte, avacado toast and pesto grilled cheese. The inside is open and inviting for all to enjoy. I will be back. This is a great place to enjoy coffee and visit with friends and family. Anna told us the new food menu will be coming soon to Hutto. She promised it was even better than current menu. A Hutto staple. Even as this city grows we lack lots of small businesses that people actually want to go to, but downtown East Street has amazing options for local food and drink like at Lamppost. Comforting small town feel in a beautiful building. I enjoy that they kept just about everything, like the deign/look and menu of the previous shop/owners. I love to try their seasonal flavored lattes. They're usually listed on a small chalkboard stand by the front counter. The special ones are also usually sweeter coffees, but I enjoy that. It is almost exclusively high school aged girls working the counter who are very friendly and helpful. When I've stayed to enjoy my coffee and snack they are quiet and keep themselves busy, very responsible. I almost always order a food item here as they are delicious and freshly made in front of you. My favorites are the pesto grilled cheese and the breakfast sourdough toasts (especially the Blueberry Goat Cheese one). They have a smaller menu, but it is done very well, ranges a lot of flavor profiles, and is plated cute for a coffee shop. It can get a bit loud in there as it is a smaller and older space so keep that in mind if you're going there to work or read you might need headphones. They do have a single, clean, gender neutral bathroom and free Wi-Fi! I hope they add more local goods/art as it is a lot more empty/ bland looking than when it was East Social House and the shelves were full and had stuff on the walls. Although there were some bumps in ownership change and was closed for awhile we've slowly started going back to this location more as it is so close to us and the service has never declined. read more

The coffee bean profiles are strong and have a mellow aftertaste down to the last sip and this can be verified by ordering yourself a simple Cortado or two for your first experience. Sit back and have a relaxing morning in the corner sofa, grab a board game off the shelf or pull out your electronics to catch up on some work. On this day, myself and a fellow patron played speed Scrabble and even though it is missing the two tile holders, it did not alter the ending which I loss (definitely have to brush up on dictionary words); but hey that just meant another round of Coffee so do I consider this a win-win or a win-loss-win? Went today. Only 2 ppl in front of me. Waited about 10 min for our drinks. Waited another 20 min for the 1st of 2 breakfast sandwiches. Then another 12 min for the second sandwich. Holy cow! Or should I say "Holy Hippo" since Lamppost is literally across the street from Downtown Hutto's giant Hippo statue. Glad to see it's open! They are operating on a limited menu at the moment, so just ask the very nice barista at the register and she'll let you know what's available and make recommendations. From her recommendation, I tried their Lamba Latte (the most popular) which has their own creamy sweet mix added in. She offered to make it 1/4 sweet when I mentioned I preferred less sweet coffee. Sooo good! Creamy, hint of sweet, warm coffee goodness. You can also get it cold though if you prefer. They were out of bananas when I visited so she let me order the Nutbutter Banana Toast with Blueberries instead. The combination of the toast size, almond butter, fruit, and the granola and honey drizzle topping made for a fresh and filling meal. Looking forward to future visits and sharing this place with others Quick Update: You may want to call ahead and make sure they're open first! Finally, I gave my local coffee shop a try since I typically make mine at home. I wanted to bring a little surprise to a friend, so I chose here to stop for Americanos. I'm so glad I did. I was disappointed to find they didn't have any coffee cake in the pastry case, but the friendly girls were more than accommodating in attempting to help me find a substitute. They even had a gluten-free option banana bread, which most places are hard to find anything GF. The coffee they serve is delicious, and I would definitely recommend it as 1 of the best Americanos I've had. The service was so refreshing. Most places now a days have subpar to terrible service. These girls were so friendly, helpful, and really understood what customer service is. I would go back for this reason alone. But with good coffee as well, 5 starts for sure. Ambience is cute. I have only been here twice but I will certainly keep coming back! The staff are super kind and bring your drinks over to you, letting you go find a seat. The coffees/teas/lemonades are delicious! I have had two of the latte specials; the honey graham and the lavender something or other. Both, delicious. The women I was with had a cold brew and a lemonade - they both said they were delish! Love this place! I always get the iced lamba latte, which is sweet, but exactly how i like it. I've never tried any of their food, but every time i visit, i can always smell the bacon cooking and it's very tempting! The space is welcoming and cute, but not too in your face. They have games and music, plus little handmade gifts to buy from local artists. They're in a great location in downtown hutto, located next to other local shops, the hippo statue, and restaurants. read more

This is a great location, aesthetic, and selection of pastries (4 stars). Unfortunately I have yet to have a a great espresso drink, the espresso machine is either acting funky, not warmed up, or the barista is inexperienced and milk is not frothed well. I tried to order drip at 9am once, and they said it would take 30 minutes, then I asked for a latte and they said it might take 15 minutes because the machine was weird. Their seems to be poor communication between workers and management, I have seen customers try to understand pricing. Overall, I love the location. I think I would definitely meet up with someone here and order a tea or other pre made drink, or take kids to play some board games. I have visited four times in one month, and will take a couple months break before going back to try the coffee again. read more

In the last month, I've dined-in at Lamppost Coffee Hutto twice and brought my toddler along. They have a kid-friendly area with cute stools, a table, and books. However, I noticed during both visits that the floors are filthy. On the first occasion I sat with a friend on the big green couch and the second in the two comfortable chairs near the kid's area. During the visits, like toddlers do, they dropped some toys or a snack on the ground. I noticed both times the floors are filthy. Not just some dust, but lots of human hair, seriously old food, and stains where you can tell they do not sweep or mop these areas very often. The tables also tend to have old coffee or sticky iced coffee residue. After playing on the floor, their clothes were so dirty every time. I'm not one to leave my kid's trash or spilled food on the floor in restaurants, so both days I cleaned up after them it was awful what I was picking up off the floor in terms of several long hairs, tons of dirt, broken tips from plastic forks, straw wrappers, and old crusty food. It's obvious far more is left in these areas than just missing cleaning for a day or two. This place has the potential to be great, but I don't think I'll bring them back unless I use the high chairs next time and just not use the kids area, which saddens me. read more

My friends and I are regulars and every experience here is always good. The prices are average local coffee shop prices. My go-to order is 16 oz. Iced Lamba latte w/ oat milk, and my best friend always gets an iced chai. The atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful enough to get some work done if you would like.
