16 oz drip coffee
Michelle E.

Lamppost Coffee is the ideal spot to get some work done while grabbing a delicious cup of coffee! The workers are so friendly and there's plenty of space so you don't feel crammed while you're working (plus they have lots of spots to charge your devices). I arrived around 12:20 pm on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating available. FAST FACTS: * Parking - a few spots out front and some street parking nearby but can be tight if they are busy * Order ahead - available online through their website * Wifi and outlets available for charging! * Reserve space for a large party or event through their website SERVICE - All the workers I interacted with were so friendly and pleasant! Highly impressed! PRICING - A 16oz drip coffee was $3.85 before tax but I purchased an embroidered sweatshirt ($45) so they gave me the drip coffee for free! The drip coffee was what you'd expect... not the darkest roast but it had a nice flavor. It didn't blow me away (not that I would expect a black coffee to every really blow me away) but 'd order this again! This was my first time at this Lamppost Coffee location but I'll definitely be back! Hutto is a little out of the way for where I live but I'd still make the commute to work for the day from here because it was that spacious and accommodating with reliable wifi and charging spots. I'd recommend this location to others!

Beautiful seating area

I always enjoy coming here. I like working here. They have free wi-fi. They have great drinks and food. The service is always friendly. I love that the space is so open with plenty of seating. And the decor is just my style.

I've had pour overs around the world, but nothing compares to this one! The service was not only excellent , but also friendly!

Wall of games to choose from and high chairs

Cozy, inviting and warm. That is how I describe this place. While it's a coffee shop, it's not your ordinary coffee spot. There is a cute nook in the corner with books for the kids, side shelf has games to play and they even high chairs! We came in to get warm and I pretty much devoured the brownie. Sorry no pic. They can warm it up for you so it pretty much melted in my mouth. Yum! My little played with the toys. Then we played Guess Who and Battleship. Those games bring back nostalgia for me as I used to play both all the time! The icing on the cake is the staff. Very friendly. Why go anywhere else when you can come hang out here with a warm brownie or coffee?!

Bacon breakfast sandwich is pretty darn good.

I've just moved to Hutto, and I love the place, even though there's very few coffee places nearby (and I love coffee). This is not the first time at Lampost Coffee, so I thought it'd be worth dropping a review. Lampost is a small coffeehouse chain with a few stories scattered around. The one in Hutto is located in one of the town's historic buildings, which is beautiful. It has a great, relaxing environment. Perfect for reading, studying, chatting with friends etc. The staff are nice, warm and welcoming, although the service can be painfully slow when there's a bit of line. I like Cappuccino's, but I've found theirs to be too milk heavy, so I opt for the Latte, which is creamy and smooth. I only wish they served it a little hotter (will ask next time). Their breakfast sandwich is very tasty and worth the order. I've had it at least 3 times. Always good! To sum up; tasty food, a lovely ambiance, an amazing building, and ok coffee. I'll be back.

Wanted to work somewhere else and local spot was close to me. It was a spacious spot with plenty of seating and quiet place too. I'm glad they had holiday drinks as wanted something peppermint. The service was great with my food and drink being delivered to me instead of being called to get it. The bagel was also a larger portion than one at starbucks. There were some flies by the cushioned seats so I had to move to tables.

Honduras Roast

First time I've been here. Went with daughter for coffee. They were brewing a great bean today. Today was their Honduras roast beans. OMG it is amazing! Anna was extremely helpful in serving us and told me all about the different roasts they have. Well I loved today's beans I ordered a 5lb bag to pick up later this week. My daughter loves Chia latte, avacado toast and pesto grilled cheese. The inside is open and inviting for all to enjoy. I will be back. This is a great place to enjoy coffee and visit with friends and family. Anna told us the new food menu will be coming soon to Hutto. She promised it was even better than current menu. My daughter said it's 5 star now. Love this place and I think you will as well!

A Hutto staple. Even as this city grows we lack lots of small businesses that people actually want to go to, but downtown East Street has amazing options for local food and drink like at Lamppost. Comforting small town feel in a beautiful building. I enjoy that they kept just about everything, like the deign/look and menu of the previous shop/owners. I love to try their seasonal flavored lattes. They're usually listed on a small chalkboard stand by the front counter. The special ones are also usually sweeter coffees, but I enjoy that. It is almost exclusively high school aged girls working the counter who are very friendly and helpful. When I've stayed to enjoy my coffee and snack they are quiet and keep themselves busy, very responsible. I almost always order a food item here as they are delicious and freshly made in front of you. My favorites are the pesto grilled cheese and the breakfast sourdough toasts (especially the Blueberry Goat Cheese one). They have a smaller menu, but it is done very well, ranges a lot of flavor profiles, and is plated cute for a coffee shop. It can get a bit loud in there as it is a smaller and older space so keep that in mind if you're going there to work or read you might need headphones. They do have a single, clean, gender neutral bathroom and free Wi-Fi! I hope they add more local goods/art as it is a lot more empty/ bland looking than when it was East Social House and the shelves were full and had stuff on the walls. Although there were some bumps in ownership change and was closed for awhile we've slowly started going back to this location more as it is so close to us and the service has never declined.

10/10. Small shop in Hutto with very tasty breakfast/snack options. Teddy Gram latte was delicious and I almost went back for a second avocado toast.

Who says a small town cannot deliver big taste. Lamppost Coffee is my go to spot when traveling through the lovely town of Hutto. The baristas are always jovial and offer that good ol' Texas charm. The coffee bean profiles are strong and have a mellow aftertaste down to the last sip and this can be verified by ordering yourself a simple Cortado or two for your first experience. Sit back and have a relaxing morning in the corner sofa, grab a board game off the shelf or pull out your electronics to catch up on some work. On this day, myself and a fellow patron played speed Scrabble and even though it is missing the two tile holders, it did not alter the ending which I loss (definitely have to brush up on dictionary words); but hey that just meant another round of Coffee so do I consider this a win-win or a win-loss-win? Hmm!

Classic bacon egg and cheese

Went today. Only 2 ppl in front of me. Waited about 10 min for our drinks. Waited another 20 min for the 1st of 2 breakfast sandwiches. Then another 12 min for the second sandwich. I couldn't believe it took that long for what we ordered. The kicker I asked for bacon, egg, & cheese. And after waiting all that time (told my sister to eat so her food wouldn't get cold) this is what I got! Like really can I get at least 1 piece of bacon?!? So disappointed. Wanted to walk up and ask for at least 1 full piece but I was so hungry I just ate it.

Customer service is unmatched! The gentleman at the counter was top tier service, he knew the drinks, what to recommend, and the experience over all was great! The drinks were great! I got my daughters some hot coco, and I got the s'mores latte perfect for a stormy day! Parking was light for a weekday and the atmosphere inside was cool and relaxed! Great place to work and study!

The drinks are soooooo much better than Starbucks. The ambience is great for good conversation as well as grinding out work or studying. The WiFi is also really fast. Most of all, the service is excellent. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. They have mastered the Art of Coffee and Tea.

Nutbutter Banana Toast with Blueberries instead Bananas (since they were out of bananas)

Or should I say "Holy Hippo" since Lamppost is literally across the street from Downtown Hutto's giant Hippo statue.

This location is noticeably cleaner with more spacious seating, plus they have a great selection of board games available. Both locations share the same welcoming vibe, which I appreciate. We ordered the taro coconut and lychee coconut twist. The taro coconut was delicious, though I wish there had been more passion fruit in the lychee one - the flavor was still good overall. The service was super fast and friendly, just like at Cedar Park.

The employee seemed a little stuck, so I redirected the question to the owner who suggested two drinks -- they were fine, but nothing that really stood out. Out of curiosity, I asked about their brewing processes, boba flavoring and what makes them unique. The response included some less-than-kind comparisons to others in town, which felt a bit awkward. Since then, I've noticed similar remarks in reviews/social media posts and throughout the community stemming from the business. Recently, my friends and I decided to do a blind taste test between this shop and two others in town for fun. It was really interesting to see how different their drinks turned out to be. Despite No1 Boba's earlier critiques about their competitors being "too sweet" and "unpalatable," this shop's drinks were ironically by far the sweetest of the bunch -- even for someone like me who usually enjoys sweeter drinks. In short: the drinks and boba are fine, but not exceptional, especially considering the strong critiques of others. To publicly insult a competing business is pretty inappropriate, but at the very least - back it up. Every shop in town has its own style and something to offer to a different crowd -- each of them can be successful for that reason without having to tear each other down. I hope that when the other two shops open up soon, they don't receive the same disparagement..

If you've been to a Starbucks before, you know what the vibe is. This isn't a Reserve. this is the Starbucks of Hutto. Drinks are fine. In the morning during their rush, I'd recommend putting an order in before you reach the location due to it being a little slower.
