Today my wonderful teen son went to buy me an iced coffee with his own money. He asked for an iced coffee with no milk. The employee could not compute this to mean cold brew since they don't offer "iced coffee", said "You mean a latte?" with an annoyed look and up-charging him for what he was not requesting. The person also got his name totally wrong. Can you imagine a sixteen year old named Alvin?! Anyway, I don't even drink dairy milk (their moon milk drinks taste good but makes my stomach hurt even though I'm not lactose intolerant) so when he brought me this standard latte, I asked for my husband to help him fix the order since we live nearby and I was doing something else. They returned to SM and my husband was stared at blankly by the manager when he explained the situation. When it finally clicked, he was told it may take a while. Never did they offer to refund my son for the inconvenience and mishandling but rather made it a big deal to even remedy the price difference. Cold coffee without the ice was also requested since usually it's mostly ice and the employee clearly does not listen and was about to scoop in ice, just as she'd done earlier with my son. Once we bought reduced price coffee beans there and they were stale and horrible. It's best to not sell them when they're that old, plus the price was still way too high, as with all the drinks. At least Starbucks has a decent rewards program and nicer employees. Don't bother with Bummer Moon!
