This place was really cute, had ample space and seating for anything from a coffee break, to hours of working/studying, including a single-person soundproof room that's great if you need to hop onto an important meeting, but don't want to leave the coffee shop (for only $5 per 30 minutes!). The whole place was very clean, had board games (going above and beyond, okay!), plenty of wall outlets for electronics, free-WiFi, was fully stocked with local and IN HOUSE made pastries, as well as a menu full of drinks AND lunch/dinner options. I got the Lamba Latte (their signature drink, I believe) and the jalapeño & cheddar bagel with butter from Rockstar Bagels (best in town), and both were amazing. I need one of these lattes every day. Being mentioned last, but definitely most importantly, the entire staff was super friendly and happy to see as well as help everyone who walked in the door. I have been to a few locations of Lamppost and I'm usually pleased with the offerrings and the vibe. This was the first time I was at this location and I can't say I'd be excited to return to this location. You see, the cafe is right next to a local high school and there were highschoolers hanging out in the cafe all day long... being highschoolers. Chattering about gossip, having cringe-worth flirtations across tables, complaining about English class, etc. Listen, I was in high school once and did all the same annoying behaviors so I can't fault them for just being kids but the cafe feels a bit like a high school cafeteria. Currently, there are 4 tables throughout this side of the cafe filled with high schoolers chatting across each other talking asking about math problems. Keep in mind, this has been all day long and it's a school day. Apparently they come here during their free periods even though they're not supposed to and a teacher came to let them know about the repurcussions... I know the whole story because they were talking very loudly about it all. High school hallway is just not the vibe I'm going for when I choose a cafe. read more

Service is great and the food and drinks were prepared quickly :)! The drinks and food are not the best though :(. I tried my bf's Lamba Coffee and it was great! The best comparison I can give is a Starbucks Blonde Vanilla Latte that's slightly sweeter with less burnt beans. Sadly the matcha latte was not the best. It's like the la croix of matcha lattes, it wasn't sweet and it only tasted like whole milk with the most indistinguishable hint of matcha. The pesto sandwich was okay, it was just really sour from the abundance of pickled peppers. My bf's Blueberry Goat Cheese Toast was also not the best :/. Such a fan of the way this coffee shop is set up. Wonderful lighting lots of seating, and a variety of coffee. I love the seating outside on a nice warm day. The parking isn't to crazy you might have a very short walk, but for the location it's worth it. I would really enjoy studying here again. I was here on a Thursday around 11am, and it was completely packed inside but plenty of seating outside. I did grab a chair inside, but there was table sharing due to it being packed and people not about to get a table to study or work inside. My only suggestion is that the furniture could do with some updating (kind of old... But nbd! Here for the coffee). The interior design is straightforward and plain, but the style of the chairs/tables/walls don't really have a kind of... Theme... ? There is no obvious character to Lamppost based on the interior. A lot of new opinions about lamppost have been formed since I initially made this post. Lamppost has changed drastically, mostly in quality and ethics. They have opened various locations across Central Texas, and once one has been opened it's abandoned by owners to move onto the next franchise. Quality of older shops have dropped drastically in cleanliness and overall quality of the equipment. Baristas are paid a sad 7.25 an hour which is underpaid for the standard of baristas, which average about 10.00. Career baristas do not last at Lamppost due to unlivable wages. This causes poor quality of coffee and high turnover rate and leaves new baristas unknowledgeable and quality is compromised by adding drive-thrus or dated equipment. Their round rock location kitchen which they produce their food is extremely unsanitary. It is too far gone to the point where cleaning seems impossible. They are so understaffed that they cannot even handle tasks like that because they have no people to do so. The owner of Lamppost swears to stand by loving coffee and loving people, yet preys on small businesses that are struggling and takes them over to franchise new locations. Every expansion of Lamppost that has happened in the last year occupy previous coffee shops that went under. It's sad and I do not want to support a business that compromises quality for quantity. It's all about money so don't give yours to them. Support REAL small businesses, because this business is wanting nothing but your money. This is no longer a small business, but just another franchise. Don't fall for what they try to paint this chain to be. read more

And a refill, after a 12 oz. pour that still had about 7 ounces in it (coffee got cold so needed to warm it up by topping it off), was $1. If my reaction to a $1 refill offends you, I'm sorry that i'm not a "baller" like you. :-) How about a little customer satisfaction coffee shop peeps: maybe 50 cents is an idea to consider, or, at the very least take a look if the patron has any left and adjust accordingly. Awesome awesome coffee! We stopped by for a meeting on a hot summer day. Weren't sure what their specialties are, and the super nice and friendly barista let us sample their cold brew made from Peruvian coffee. The cold brew was super smooth. We were in mood for something more creamy, so we went for their famous Lamba Latte with half sweet and it was PERFECT! It had the perfect balance of creaminess and a hint of sweetness. It smelled amazing and the smell reminded me of Vietnamese milk coffee. The shop is clean and has simple decoration. There are plenty of tables and chairs for hanging which can get a little loud. There are more tables and chairs towards the back of the room which is perfect for meetings, studying, or working. I can't wait to come back to try their cappuccino, get their cold brew, or more Lamba latte. Forget about overpriced Starbucks coffee and come support this amazing mom-and-pop shop! read more
