Stopped in and ordered a ham, egg, and cheese with a side of home fries. The owner was one of the nicest people I've ever met. He greeted me like we were old friends. You never see that anymore. I was visiting family and after seeing the reviews for Lamonica's I insisted we give them a try. Despite living here none of them had ever been, they rarely eat out for breakfast and used to go to Scarpelli's or Twin Colony when they did. Well I'm glad we did, this place is fantastic. I had the hot sausage omelette, coming with home fries, toast, and coffee. The omelette was cooked perfectly, coffee was above average. Home fries were something special, they had a nice char on some bits and were full of flavor. The service is well above average, very friendly and welcoming. The owner (or one of the two them per other reviews) was often out on the floor checking in on everybody, handling the register, and helping the staff out. It was very clean, with comfortable seats and nice decor. There are mostly tables, but also several booths and a counter for solo dining. No wait at 11am on Sunday, but it was nearly full. I'll definitely be going back every time I visit from now on. read more

I wish there were more stars to give, because I would. I came with my mom and brother. My mom got 2 eggs over easy, homefries, bacon and toast. I got 2 pancakes, 2 sunny side up eggs, and ham. My brother got a roast beef & cheese omelet with home fries. The portions were huuggee and EVERYTHING, even the coffee was delicious. The atmosphere was also warm and welcoming. Everybody was very friendly. I will be back, for sure. I'll be bringing my nephew because they also have M & M and chocolate chip pancakes! read more

Hands down the best breakfast and lunch joint in all of Litchfield county. The eggs are always white and fluffy, the home fries perfectly seasoned and cooked. The breakfast sandwiches stand out as the most delicious I've ever tasted. (best in the country). Every time I come here it's like stepping into the 'good ole days'. I love the atmosphere here. First of all, lets quickly discuss the awful excuse for management. The manager of this establishment is so far beyond unprofessional and disrespectful that the credibility of the the entire restaurant is tainted. He is rude, abrasive and forces his own personal and political opinions onto others. Not to mention that the food is quite lackluster. You can easily make the food sold at the restaurant at home. The decor of the restaurant inconsistent and tacky. The restaurant lacks the basic care and organization any would need. I would say that Lamonica's is not worth visiting and that you should simply just spend your money at a local Denny's or Friendly's. Its not worth the visit. read more

So I stopped in on a whim this morning after work (I'm a night owl) for breakfast after seeing the reviews on Yelp. I was pleasantly surprised to having a breakfast that I couldn't finish because of the size of the portions. The staff was pleasant, the food tasted great. It's going to be on my list of places to go. Just 2 little things, parking is difficult (No fault of the restaurant) and the kitchen could use a little updating. Otherwise GREAT JOB! read more

This restaurant is my father's favorite breakfast spot (Semper Fi) but I must say it has become mine also! Flying home often from Los Angeles to visit, this is always our first stop! I love the welcoming feeling when you walk in, the family owners personally meeting each customer at their tables to make sure the experience is just right, and neighbors talking to neighbors. The food is delicious and the portions are enormous! My daughter is a huge fan of the chocolate chip pancakes, you can't get pancakes like this in LA. Great breakfast place. In fact the only place I love for breakfast in the area. Omelets are the best I've ever had. Comes with a big portion for a very decent price. You can get an omelet with whatever fillings you like, home fries, toast, and coffee or tea for $9/10. The portion is so big you will be able to take half of it home. Also their bacon is so light and airy tasting!!! Just delicious and never greasy. And fast service here. Not the best ambiance if you are looking for a fancy set up... But totally worth it for the taste and it's spacious in the restaurant. The only downfall is that they only take cash... No cards... I can't believe I am the first to review Lamonica's. I have never had their catering but I love Lamonica's restaurant! The bf's family is from the Torrington area and we always hit up Lamonica's whenever we are home. This place is truly a family business and the Lamonica boys make you feel at home as soon as you enter creating such a friendly, old-school atmosphere. The food is reasonably priced and does not disappoint but in my opinion you cannot miss going on Thursdays for their ziti & meatball special. Out of this world! read more

Mediocre food, sloppy looking dishes, wait staff ok, but owners are a nuisance when people are trying to eat. Too political and not something we wanted to listen to when trying to eat the swill they served. It was uncomfortable to be talked at from someone standing above us during our meal. What a place!!! Took a wrong turn on a Sunday from Goshen, ct. on rt 4 and came upon a restaurant on a side street at the corner of Wolcott Ave and Migeon. We saw cars parked everywhere, on the street also in a lot across from the restaurant. We went inside and WOW , what a place , sports memorabilia on the walls , Yankees and Red Sox banners,patriotic pictures and a beautiful American Flag along with religious figures ! The friendly waitress sat us down and made us feel like the most important people in the place. The restaurant was especially clean and bright with large picture windows in the front and beautiful tile floor along with a tin ceiling from the 40's!!! Well, let's get to the food , it was awesome and I enjoyed one of the best omelette's I had since I moved up here from New Jersey !! I had a pastrami and cheese omelette along with a healthy portion of home fries that were out of this world , along with perfectly toasted rye bread . My wife had stuffed French toast topped with warm blueberrys topped with whipped cream,we were speechless!!! There were coffee pots everywhere, you could have help yourself or wait for the very efficient waitresses who would come by frequently. To top it , if you wanted Hazelnut or French vanilla you just had to ask the waitress and she would bring you the creamer you desired and was told no extra charge for as much coffee as you could drink !!! My wife was in awe and very hard to please and guess what, she was impressed!!! For a restaurant not a main road to be packed with so many people and to have the quality of food speaks volumes for family that owns it !!! If they were on a main road there would not be a place big enough to house the regular's along with the transit they would attract!! We happen to sit near some regular customers and they told us they have been in business for over 20 years and have won numerous awards for the best breakfast chosen by the community!! Not many of these places around !!! It seems like the franchises which are fast food restaurants are the only ones that exist.
