I enjoyed everything about my breakfast, as I got the big breakfast and it came with eggs and a meat , i also got a side order of potatoes they were cooked perfectly... I want to give a shout out to the waitress, her name is Tammy" and she was so incredibly helpful and personable with me as it being my first time there I wasn't sure what to order.. I am looking forward to working my way through the menu because everything looks delicious, and it is wonderful to know that they actually deliver. I am going to utilize that service as well.... The prices are not any higher than you will find anywhere else, and I don't mind paying a slightly higher price as long as the food is delicious like Rick's nutmeg grille is. give it a try, you will also be amazed at the serving size too. read more

Very nice breakfast with mom. It's a small place with friendly service. We found parking right out front and a small step up into the front door, (something I need to pay attention to when bringing my elderly mother out.) The food was good, hearty meal sizes for the price. They had lots of specials to choose from. We got the classic eggs Benedict which was very good, the English muffins were oversized. The second meal was an omelet special with bacon, veggies and cheese. It was huge! The home fries were lightly crisp potatoes, and flavorful. Perfect Eggs Florentine, potatoes, toast and hot coffee. While the hollandaise, spinach and poached eggs were excellent, the potatoes were awesome! Stopped into Rick's Nutmeg Grill this morning w/ the wife. I was a 1st Timer, my wife had eaten there many times before, but it had been several years since her last visit. Place was about 3/4 full just before 9am on this Sunday morning. She ordered the Eggs Benedict w/ home fries, I went with a Tall stack of apple-cinnamon pancakes w/ a side of sausage. Meals took a while to come out, a bit longer than I would've thought it should take. But we were both pleased when the food finally did arrive, my pancakes were fluffy & tasty. I noticed they left the skin on the apples, but it was soft, and the cinnamon was the right amount. My wife's Eggs Benedict were delicious, perfectly cooked eggs, and the hollandaise sauce was spot on. Her home fries were also good, as well as my sausage patties. Coffee was decent too. Service was excellent, the staff at Rick's is very friendly & attentive. Total bill was just over $22. Not sure why I see all the complaints concerning price from the other Yelp reviews, that's a pretty standard amount for breakfast. I was in town and had some extra time, so I stopped in for breakfast. It had been several years since the last time that I ate here and recall it being good back then. Well.... I was not disappointed with this visit either. The restaurant is clean with a very pleasant atmosphere and the wait staff is perfectly friendly and attentive. I ordered and omelet with ham, mushrooms and swiss cheese. It came with hash browns and I opted for the multigrain toast. When the dish came it as fresh and hot. Some places tend to make the eggs too dry. That is NOT the case here. They were moist and excellent and had really nice flavor. The bread was perfectly toasted and the hash browns were good as well. I also had some good decaf coffee. The meal was generous size and really satisfying. I would give them 4.5 stars if I could. read more

This was our very first time here, every time we walk past it looked small but we ended up going in this time and I am so glad we did. I always went to Scarpellies for the BLT but since they closed I couldn't find the right BLT until I came in here. Toasted right and great portion mouth sized. Made me full that is for sure and My boyfriend got the Texas Cheeseburger with a fried egg and it was pretty big and he is picky with his food they got his approval and that's rare. Don't waste your money there. We were in e mood for breakfast at lunch and Tony's Westside was closed for vacation. George's also closed on Tuesday so we decided to try Rick's. Both omelets were overcooked and dry.; with the consistency of a frittata not an omelet Barely any cheese in the middle., with the extras we added to our omelets baked into the omelets not in the middle. I payed extra $1.99 for fruit, instead of potatoes and instead of a nice medley got some grapes a part of an orange sliced up with the skin still on and about 3 slices of an apple which was browning in the box. The entire bill was close to $24 and we couldn't be more disappointed. Not a good value nor delish. read more

I got a full stack of cinnamon walnut french toast with a side of bacon. Boyfriend got an eggs benedict, and his brother got an omelet. Everything I had was delicious and satisfying. I was able to try some of my boyfriend's eggs benedict and homefries, and both were done very well. My french toast was super sweet, cinnamon-y, and wonderful. It might have been a little too sweet to eat on its own without a side of bacon or anything, but the amount of cinnamon and chopped walnuts crusting its outer layer was pretty great. The interior of the Nutmeg Grille feels like a small diner. You have your mirrored walls, standard booths, and a bar area with retro stools and a long countertop. Service was friendly. Our waitress took our orders without writing them down and had a very welcoming smile. The nutmeg has been sold since I last ate here. I'm glad to say that the quality of service and food has not changed. I most recently are here for my Mother's birthday brunch. It happened to be a Sunday morning, yet server who waited on us was both quick and attentive. The food is standard breakfast fare. The menu has shrunk slightly since last year, but they still have all of the staples (including some delicious bacon). The prices are very fair. read more

What a lucky find! We stayed at the Days Inn which didn't offer much breakfast and although the local diner was great the night before, we were going to go to DnD but this popped up on a search and looked like a perfect breakfast place. My Irish eggs Benedict was amazing and my friend got waffles that he said tasted homemade. His eggs were cooked perfectly with the runny yolk and mine couldn't have been poached more perfectly. Potatoes were seasoned deliciously and it was all very delicious. Even the coffee was great. I hope to pass through here again because it was very cute with the perfect retro diner feel. read more

I have tried a couple of different breakfasts there and I must say that this place is outstanding, Food is amazing, place is very clean, and the staff is friendly, professional and accommodating. I highly recommend the Italian omelette, which is a treat for your tastebuds! Homefries are perfectly seasoned and unique. My wife and I used to love to come to Nutmeg Grill for breakfast, until today. We came in looking forward to eating a great breakfast only to find that the Nutmeg is now under new ownership. We gave it the benefit of the doubt only to realize we should have walked out. The food was out right gross for the amount of money it cost. They are clearly cutting corners with quality of ingredients. The wait staff is also very inattentive. They also still have hanging on the walls the awards the previous nutmeg won. We enjoyed a very nice breakfast here this past Saturday. We had 5 in our party (6 if you count an in-tummy baby!), including two small children, and found that the Nutmeg easily accommodated all of our needs. I recommend a breakfast on the earlier side- we arrived at 9:30 and there was plenty of seating, but at 10:30 when we left the place was packed, with a line at the door. The wait staff was attentive and polite, quickly filling our cups with coffee, water and various not-from-concentrate juices, and our order was taken efficiently, worth nothing because we had a lot of changes and specifications to our order. Food came out quickly, and hot. We had an English muffing sandwich, house-made corned beef hash, chocolate chip pancakes, a classic eggs and toast breakfast, oatmeal, and an omelet (so a very good sampling of the breakfast menu). Each item was well prepared and generous portions. The hash was nicely done, no big chunks of beef, but cooked evenly without too much salt. The side orders were nice portions- big bowl of oats, 6 slices of very good bacon, two large sausage patties, etc. We were overall pleased with the pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff, and solid food. Visited for a birthday breakfast. Upon arrival we found 4 tables I cleaned.. finally found one clean table. Waited 45 minutes for breakfast to come. Coffee was cold. When asked if we would like a new cup., waited 10 minutes for that. We asked for milk for our coffee and was told when she brought new coffee that the milk was full and we should have plenty!! Went here this morning for breakfast with a couple friends. Food took a while to get even though there were not many people in there. Waitress forgot some items we ordered (fruit and juices) as well as the syrup and butter for my French Toast. By the time I got them, my food was cold. The bread was also old- I could tell by the taste. Waitress needs a little more experience. Took her 15 minutes to try and split up our checks- even though we had asked for separate checks when we were seated. She still did not get it right. It was also $16 for only our drinks! The owner yelled at the waitress in front of everyone for it being her hair even though her hair was far too short, and thusly humiliated the poor girl. The owner is a real jerk. Yelling and arguing with his employees behind the register, being entitled, and the food isn't even passable. I can't see this place staying in business for more than another year. Long time Nutmeg Grill fan. First time at 'Ricks' Nutmeg Grill. This is not the same great serviced, huge portion of quality food place i used to know. I didnt notice until we got the new menu and noticed my fav waitress, who resembled my mom, wasnt there. The waitress mistook my choc milk for Oj, didnt bring water as requested, took 2x to get a refill on coffee, the pancakes were small and NOT the same recipe, bacon was thin and low quality, hashbrowns were lesser quality, and typical of the youngest generation of wait staff, communication and friendliness were MIA. I WANT MY MOMMY! In all fairness, it was not an unusually poor diner. key word here is 'unusually'. With weak service becoming the norm, unusual would be a place that truely deserves 5 stars. read more
