Variety of individual chocolates

This is a hidden gem Lammes location. Nestled in a small strip center, it caught my eye when I was voting across the street. While it is a small store, it has all the favorites we've come to enjoy from Texas' favorite candy company: Longhorns, truffles, and chocolate covered strawberries. I received terrific service, and appreciated the patience shown as I slowly perused the store, taking in all thr goodies. If you're on this side of town, even if you're not looking for a gift or box of Longhorns, pop in! Treat yourself to some individual pieces of candy. It will be a nice treat for your day (and probably last you a few days--as you can see from my pictures!).

If you love different combinations of chocolate, nuts, and caramel, you will love Lammes. I have wanted to try Lammes every since I noticed Lammes HQ on the way to the Austin airport and discovered it was a family owned candy business since 1885. You must be doing something right if you are locally owned and have been operating for almost 130 years. Thus, I was excited to see this new storefront from Lammes open in my North Austin neighborhood right before Christmas. I finally made it in a couple of days ago, and was not disappointed. The place is sparkling clean, and the service was phenomenal, the two ladies were informative, and answered all my silly newbie questions, and offered up a couple of samples. All the product is made fresh in the Lammes HQ and brought to the store. Lammes uses all natural ingredients with no artificial preservatives. They make everything themselves except for the sugar free chocolates and truffles. You pay by the pound for the chocolate, no matter what type you choose. I selected a variety of items to take back home and sample. Our favorite candy was definitely what made Lammes popular, the Texas Chewie (Pecan Praline). My second favorite was the Dark Chocolate Longhorns, followed closely by a pecan/chocolate/caramel pairing that was entitled 1885 something (can't remember the name). The caramel was not tough, it melted in your mouth, and the nuts were full of flavor and far from stale. The staff let me know that I cannot miss out on their special seasonal items, such as their famous chocolate covered strawberries. Just visit their website and sign up for their mailing list to receive notifications. I am a Lammes fan, and must forget how conveniently this store is now located, otherwise I will need to add to the length of my workouts.

Chocolate covered strawberries! They don't skimp on the chocolate like most places! :)

There was only one savory bite that I was kinda not liking (like a mouthful of cold butter) but the rest were amazing. Get there early and walk around the property. It was beautifully decorated with a real honey bee hive conservation project. Valet is $15 after validation and there's no time limit so stay and enjoy the property. We walked around the property before the team party and we chose to walk around downtown afterwards the tea party afterwards. Such an upgrade from the old Four Seasons location. We are planning on coming back for the summer tea (the tea themes change based on season)

Great service and it was very nice that they indicated with a dark stamp on our bill that the gratuity was included given we were a large party. I often don't notice when it is added in and double tip by accident. Cocktails are great and the food is pretty good as well, though pricey of course, because it is the Four Seasons, after all. I treated my pup to the Sirloin, Mashed Potato and Veggie Dinner and she just loved it. The patio is dog friendly.

Each year, my husband and I participate in Lent by giving up something meaningful, such as meat and…read moredesserts. Lent is a 40-day period of spiritual preparation for Easter, beginning on Ash Wednesday (symbolizing the need for repentance) and ending before Easter. Its main goals are reflection, repentance, and renewal. After observing Lent, our treat was brunch at Ciclo (Four Seasons Hotel). Ciclo hosted Easter Brunch and an Easter Egg hunt including the hotel's lake-level ballroom. The celebration included live music and lawn activities for hotel and brunch guests. The brunch included a cold buffet, hot buffet, carving station, benedict station, and dessert buffet. You also could order customized omelets from your table. Ciclo's brunch features gluten-free and vegetarian choices. OMG...the Four Season's Hotel and Ciclo restaurant looked as though a lush bright flowered garden had been quietly grown there. Flowers spilled over every surface from the hotel's entrance to the Ciclo restaurant out onto the patio. The floral arrangements were stunning. They also served as a beautiful backdrop for photos. In addition, we ran into ole friends at brunch, which was a pleasant surprise. The standout for us was the lamb chops (one of my favorites) and callosal-sized shrimp. The sweet potatoes and ham were memorable as well with perfectly spiced sweet potatoes. All desserts were good today, however, the Oreo cheesecake and sugar cookies were the highlights. Our server was so attentive and pleasant. Also, Abribal, the restaurant manager, came over to inquire about dining experience. Such excellent service... Dining a Ciclo today was superb! It was fantastic end to our Lenton season.

I'm calling it premium surf and turf. Great night with friends and dinner. Ciclo did not disappoint. Well done.

They're in an open gravel lot with plenty of parking and some wooden picnic tables where you can sit and eat. I had the chocolate jasmine flavor and the lychee raspberry as half scoops in a size medium (the minimum size where you can get half scoops). The chocolate was honestly a little weird with the jasmine in my opinion (I would have preferred regular vanilla jasmine, but was interesting to try). That said, the lychee raspberry is a knock out of the park -- absolutely LOVED it! It's the perfect combo of sweet from the lychee with just a bit of tang from the raspberry, and the chunks of lychee in it are absolutely delicious. It was like $8 including tax for the medium so it's not cheap, but it's a good sized cup. They also sell larger sizes (like by the pint I think), and chocolate with interesting flavors that is award-winning, so lots to try! The lady working there seemed hot/tired that day, but she was nice. The ambiance outside is also nice, as long as it's not too hot, since those picnic tables can end up being directly in the sun depending on the time of day and it is HOT. There is a tree there though that sometimes provides shade.
