Awesome place if you want to get adventurous with your popcorn flavors. There are those from savory, to savory sweet, to spicy, to cheesy to super caramel-y, fruity sweet. Take your kiddos and they will love it. My favorite was the chilli lime. But everyone else in my family has their own favorite flavor. I love that we can sample at their sample bar. Stopped here for popcorn while visiting a friend nearby. This is a bright, inviting store full of merchandise. Staff greeted me right away, and got my order going. I'm a savory popcorn fan, so I went for the white cheddar garlic & herb, jalapeño ranch and cheddar cheese. Unfortunately, while the popcorn was fresh it tasted weak. As if there wasn't enough of the popcorn seasoning used for any of the flavors. Super disappointing, it's a nice shop but not worth a return trip for me. read more

I have been coming to Cornucopia since they had a location on Guadalupe. I grew up eating rainbow candied popcorn so when my oldest was a toddler I wanted her to experience the magic of rainbow popcorn so I googled and found this place, must have been 2011 or so? Then they moved to the Red River location and I would bring my girls there on the way home from their doctor appointments nearby. I got a can of popcorn and they refill it for 50% off, so instead of giving out party bags at the kids' birthday parties we get a can of popcorn and let the kids take home bags of popcorn and they love it! Also it's great from a parent perspective because you're not sending home a bag of little cheap plastic toys that will break in 24 hours and end up in a landfill. I was really happy when they opened the McNeil location so we don't have to drive all the way downtown for popcorn now! They are always coming up with new varieties and they put out samples to try. I highly recommend Cornucopia, both locations are great, we just go to the McNeil one because it's closer to our house. read more

I was greeted as soon as I entered, and perused the small store while the staff finished helping another customer. I agree with another reviewer that the sample station was nice. There were about 3 different popcorns in the sample station. The shop is very cute and they have a huge variety of flavors and sizes. I really liked the four flavors I tried. Salted Carmel Holiday flavor Kettle corn White cheddar I think it would be fun to buy some small bags as favors for a party or small gifts for teachers or friends. read more

Love supporting small businesses so it was only right that I visited cornucopia. It's a bit hidden away in the shopping center, and when you enter it's very small. They let you sample their various flavors. We went with one of their tins because you get a discounted rate if you come back to refill it. The popcorn is delicious and we went with a few sweet flavors and one savory flavor. The only thing is they close at 5p on weekdays and that is when most people are barely getting off of work. read more

Cornucopia is one of our favorite spots for a last-minute date night or movie night at home with the kids. Their tins are refillable for a discounted price, so we just bring ours in and everyone gets to choose a flavor. The flavors are sometimes a bit similar, but often unique and always tasty. Staff is always friendly and helpful, and I love that they participate in the TooGoodToGo app to reduce food waste, which is how we originally heard of them. We keep coming back! read more

This has been one of my favorite spots to get a delicious popcorn snack for the past few years. Great variety, quality ingredients, and impossible to stop eating because it taste so good flavors. Unfortunately, this last trip ended in a very disappointing way. One of the caramel flavors tasted like it had been cross contaminated with another spice (unsweet) flavor. The chocolate didn't have the same quality taste and was runny. The popcorn that was chocolate covered was stale and one bag was even "damp" from the chocolate not hardening. I went straight home after making my purchase, so the popcorn was never left in the heat. Hoping this is a one off situation as I've always had such great experiences in the past. read more

Cornucopia popcorn is located in the far end of the mini mall. When I came they seemed very busy with a lot of phone orders, delivery orders, maybe online orders. I came as a first time customer, and sampled many flavors, choosing the savory cheddar cheese in the end. The sweet flavors were super sweet, the chocolate popcorn seemed a little light on chocolate. I am sure I'll be back, it is a great place to take kids, and their $2 kid bag of popcorn is a bargain. I love their little waiting area. They also offer free bottled water to drink, so nice. It lost a star for otherwise high prices, and less than crisp popcorn. read more

Caution, it is addictive. I have always enjoyed popcorn. But most of the time I'd just buy microwave popcorn. Now I go almost weekly and have a tin to refill. They have a variety of flavors, even seasonal flavors. I have tried a few but my favorite is white cheddar. Other favorites are chile lime, chocolate caramel, and savory. I've gotten bags for family and friends who enjoy dill pickle, cheddar cheese, salted toffee. Everyone I've met there are friendly and courteous. The place is clean and easy to taste test all the flavors. I have to say it is tough, because I can finish a 1 gallon tin in one night. Hardest part is moderation. read more

I was really skeptical about this place at first.. I have been driving past it for a year now and finally went in. I have been missing out!!! This place is awesome. I was so excited to try all the yummy flavors they have. Tons of samples from savory to sweet. I ended up walking out with 2 different favors. They flavors aren't over powering or too sweet/salty. Everyone who I have shared it with has loved it. I literally can't put the bag down. I suggest the Salted Toffee!! It's unreal. Everything is made locally in house. read more

When I came in months ago this was a great little place with friendly staff. My most recent experience was the total opposite. I was hassled for having my service dog. They asked for paperwork which doesn't exist for service dogs and they were asking questions that are not required for me to answer. Also, business are allowed to ask two questions if they are a service dog and what task they preform (funny that they didn't ask either of the legal questions). Not only was I hassled but they only had ten flavors out to sample. Another women in the store asked why it was so empty and none of the employees even responded to her. Just stopped by about a half ago to check out the shop and popcorn. Opened the front door and was assaulted with music so loud I couldn't think. There was no one in front. We sampled a couple flavors (very good, btw) while the music was still blaring at concert levels. In between songs, we could hear what we assumed were employees in the back. Shouted a HELLO? before we were again assaulted by the blaring music. No one came to the front or turned down the music, so we left. read more

I just went to the McNeil location. There was no one in the store the whole time we were there. We selected 2 flavors Mocha and Mexican Hot Chocolate. She even wrote down the flavors and when we got home we discovered we had Mocha and Smores. I just don't understand how you could get the flavor wrong. read more

We love Cornucopia Popcorn! The staff was kind and friendly and the bulk of their store is set up with sampling stations so you can try all the flavors before you buy. Everything we tried was amazing and we ended up getting 6 flavors (and plan to go back for more soon). Prices and quantity options were good. We particularly liked that the sweet flavors weren't overkill with that sugar coating. They were delicious but didn't hurt to eat. We went back and purchase several bags for different flavor, the overall thoughts compared to Austin Gourmet popcorn is that the Cornucopia is more sweet then Austin Gourmet popcorn, personal taste, I like AGP better then Cornucopia. Pro: Cornucopia has more salty flavor, Cons: Sugar on popcorn is too thick, and the popcorn fall into small pieces most of time. read more

This is hands down my favorite place to get fresh flavored popcorn in Austin. I've tried nearby places and none come close to Cornucopia. I enjoyed the central location for years and was so excited when this Northwest location opened and it's been yummy, fresh popcorn every visit. I enjoy the huge selection of popcorn flavors and how easily you can mix and match them in bags, and the seasonal flavors rotate and are fun variety. I love that this new store has opened up north. I think back to when I used to have to drive to the Drag and, later, to the store on 34th. I will never drive that far again...for popcorn. The new store is clean and bright with a modern flair. You can sample to your heart's content without feeling sheepish about it. There were probably 30 or more flavors out when we went, and they are always introducing fun new flavors and bringing back seasonal favorites. We decided on 6, including a few we hadn't tried before: Pink Lemonade, Mint Chocolate Chill and Simply Savory. We, of course, brought our refillable cans to save 50%. You think that's a pretty good deal til you walk out the door with the realization that you just dropped $30 for a couple little buckets of half-price popcorn and it didn't even come with a movie. I hadn't noticed, til the girl rang me up, that the prices have gone up 25% since I last visited. So, as much as I love the popcorn, love the concept, and love the beautiful new location, I'm going to have to hold myself back, because thirty bucks is gone and, almost a day later, so is the popcorn. Good news is that they do sell smaller bags that are both reasonably priced and perfectly sized. They would make fun gifts or satisfy a craving without breaking the bank or destroying my diet. read more
