Our first time eating here and everything was delicious! It's like a breath of fresh air from the usual Filipino restaurants in the area. Seating area is limited (small area) so I assume it's packed during busy hours/days. Another option is to order for pick up and eat at the comfort of your own home. Oh and I asked they do caterings as well! read more

The food here is amazing. I always get the fish..beef..and crispy pork. No disappointments here. Please check out this restaurant

Wanted to try this place for a while now. Came in on a Saturday evening and was definitely expecting a wait. I walked in with a party of 3 looking for a table. Waited a few minutes and they just ignored me despite a few attempts trying to get their attention. They continued to wave me off for about 5 mins until finally someone decided to acknowledge me and ask me what I wanted. I asked to put my name down for a table and all she says is "you have to wait, don't you see all these other people." - all of whom probably already put their name down and already waiting for a table or waiting for takeout. I was a bit taken aback from the attitude that she gave me. Not even an offer to put my name down on a list or anything. She simply walks away from me and goes into the back. I understand it's a mom and pop type restaurant, but it's not a good way to treat customers anyway, considering I understood there was going to be a wait with everyone waiting. I walked out after that. If this is the way they treat people before we even sit and order, I can't imagine how terrible the service would be. Be prepared to deal with sub par service and attitude if you plan on eating here. read more

One of the best Filipino restaurant in Queens. Came here a-lot of times before the pandemic and came back a few weeks ago and all I can say is the food taste the same nothings changed. read more

This relatively new place is a small, cozy, and easy to get to in Queens Blvd. The staff are friendly and I was seated right away on a Sunday around dinner time. I ordered the chicken tacos and the pork belly sizzling plate. The chicken tacos were soso. I also thought the pork belly plate comes with 2 eggs sunny side up but had to order it on the side. The dish however was mouth-watering and full of taste. Highly recommended! read more

Extremely rude staff. They ignored us and gave attitude when we asked for anything. -10 stars out of 10, would never recommend. Respect yourself and eat somewhere that at least wants your business. Also the kare kare tasted like nothing. read more

Their food is great. While so many Filipino places over in Woodside are just mediocre, this place on Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst is really great. Try the beef caldereta, it is fantastic with really deep flavor and a lot of meat. The adobo is also really great. I have been here a few times, the service is usually good, the waiter Carlo is especially friendly and attentive. I can honestly recommend this place to any of my friends, including my friends from the Philippines looking for authentic food. read more

We did a take out order a week ago and the food was satisfying. My Dad was excited to go again and this time we decided to eat at the restaurant. That was a mistake. The food was okay but the service is lousy. The servers are not interested in making dining there a pleasant experience. They were inattentive, unbothered and almost rude. We wanted to add something to our order and told abruptly "wait". As a Filipino, it is disheartening that the service that could be described as rude was at a Filipino restaurant. There are now other options for Filipino food in the area; will just take our business there. read more

Solid spot with good outdoor dining. A good place to meet up with friends. Friendly staff and good menu.

HUGE portions, don't eat alone. I had the crispy pata and it was damn good; crispy skin usually is. I would have preferred a more acidic sauce to cut through the fat, but that's a small complaint on an otherwise delicious meal. read more

the food was okay. I had the tapsilog it was pretty expensive and you don't even get that much tapa for 12.50 you could get more at a cheaper price at ihawan in woodside read more

Used to love this place. Some staff are unfriendly and some are. The food used to be good the first few times we've been here. Service is slow. Food is now ok - not all that. There were instances that this establishment is not worth of my time going back there anymore. 1st, they gave away my order to someone else and they kept insisting that somebody picked it up but i still have the receipt in my hand and none of my friends nor family ever picked it up. It's upsetting to know that they don't ask for any identification or even the receipt to prove that the person picking it up is the person who ordered it. 2nd, they DEMANDED to give the suggested tip. They didn't stop insisting to add the suggested tip - to be honest, they don't even deserve the 18% or 20% tip they demanded. I felt like since we are regulars there, they don't treat us how they treat new customers. I felt like we were taken for granted. You have to keep reminding them what you requested because they have forgotten my requests so many times - like an additional order or another spoon or fork - and when you remind them, they give me an attitude or look. I feel like they are not happy to serve us as customers. Bottom line, never going back to this place. As much as possible, SAVE YOUR MONEY. Also, just a friendly advice, ALWAYS take pictures of your receipt and credit/debit card copy with your added tip on it because they tend to change it or add more tip after you signed it. Check your bank always after you eat in this establishment. read more

We went in on a Sunday afternoon. It was a little busy but we were seated right away. The food was amazing! It's as close as I could get to home since I'm half Filipino. The flavor and taste are/or as close to what my Filipino family prepares. The service is good. It would be helpful if the A.C. is turned up an extra notch on a 97 degree weather though. Other than that, everything was spectacular!! Highly recommendable for Filipino food fans. read more

I ordered the pork BBQ with white rice. It was a little chewy, but the sauce is good. The archara was really good too. The place is small but nice, the service is good, and the prices are fair. Overall a good Filipino restaurant. read more

Very good Filipino Food! The Bangos sisig was awesome! So was the Crispy Pata & Lechon kawali & sinigang na baboy!

My favorite Filipino restaurant in Queens. I stopped writing reviews. However, after I had a bad experience at Renee's kitchen with their ginataan sitaw at kalabasa, I was entice to share my experience. Also, I promise till this day on, I will never cheat on Lahi again when it comes to My Filipino cravings. Everything here is bombdiggitty. I had their grilled milk fish, soups (sinigang and nilaga), Filipino breakfast, kaldereta and menudo, ginataan sitaw at kalabasa and many more. Been here over ten times and it's always a treat! read more

It was my first time here and I got the Lechon Kawali & Chicken BBQ to go. They were both so delicious! My mom and my sister loved it. The staff were so nice and the service was quick. I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes! So happy there's another delicious filipino restaurant near my place. read more

The restaurant is clearly having some growing pains as the service was very spotty. My boyfriend got his food a full 20 mins before I got mine so he had just about finished his lunch when I got mine. The tapsilog was dry, chewy meat - not like what I've had at other Filipino places. The coffee also took 20 mins to arrive. If it were just the service that was poor, we would come back. But we were so underwhelmed by the food, it doesn't seem worth a second visit. read more

My casual encounter with Lahi turned out to be quite good. Small space but with caring staff and family gatherings around made it a cozy spot. We started off with Sisig Tacos and Mango / Coconut Juice. Although the coconut juice was a slight bummer but the mango juice to wash down the crunchy taco shells and the deep sauted chicken was a perfect lift. We eventually made our mind to go for Kare Kare and Kalderetang Kambing as the main dish. The dishes were very fine. Two pointers though - For Kare Kare, the peanut sauce was a bit too strong, as a result the ox tail and the veggies were hard to taste at one point as you get used to the overwhelming thickness of the peanut gravy in your third spoon. For Kalderetang Kambing - make sure you get it done with a bit of extra spice. Thats exactly when all the flavors ring in. Although the meat was broken a bit too much - but the insanely delicious shrimp paste healed all that small stuff. Garlic rice is strongly recommended with the goat dish. Finally - ended with some Purple yam ice cream. Very good as in reading a perfect epilogue to an essay. Will definitely comeback to try the fish. Heard loads of good stuff about that. read more

The food quality is just superb! I highly recommend this restaurant...you won't be disappointed!

Hot mess when you order take out. They poorly package their food specifically the sauces and soup-based orders. Wouldn't have left this review for a one time occurrence. But it's happened three times now so unfortunately this will be my last order with them. read more

Me and my husband tried this Filipino restaurant because it's very close to our house. We ordered the adobo wings, adobo pork snd sizzling pork. Everything was delicious. The adobo wings are killers (little pricey though). I also ordered the mango milkshake. It was very sweet but also very thick. The place is clean and service was great. We will come back! read more

This is the third time we had a dinner here, and it never fail our expectations, the food is great and delicious with an A CLASS PRESENTATION What I really love in this place is their SIZZLING BANGUS (OMG! It is so tasty and healthy it has a twist taste...). The second one that I like is their LOMI it can be shared by two person and it has everything on it (shrimp, pork, chicken and quail eggs). The prices that they have is worth the quality of their foods. If you want a cozy and tasty Filipino food I highly recommend this place. Will definitely go back here to try their HALO-HALO. read more

I've always believed nothing beats Filipino food! Filipino food is an intricate pattern of Spanish, Western, Chinese, Japanese, and Pacific Islanders. Lahi is the perfect place to stop by to indulge in the filipino cuisine! I highly recommend a dish or viand called Kare kare, or oxtail stew, derives its name from "curry" as a result of the Philippine's deeply rooted Indian heritage. Lahi got more mouth watering lunch and dinner dishes like, sinigang, adobo, sisig and more! For breakfast or brunch Tapsilog is a must try! Although, trying their halo halo, a shaved ice fruit mixed dessert, I would suggest for more ingredients like sago or well known as tapioca pearls, jackfruit and sweetened banana! Going back to the actual filipino menu, I love how they serve their dishes with a really cute sense of style... not just serving the food in a ordinary plate and the very delicious food! Bistek was my favorite, actually, everything was really superb! Buko or coconut water was my drink and I had like four glasses! The service was pretty good not just the food! Overall experience was great! read more

I was excited to try this place, based on the good reviews. I frequently crave a "taste of home" and was happy to walk in the door to familiar scents and an ambience with the warmth of a home-cooked meal. Unfortunately, it was disappointment from there. The menu lacked some of my go-to Filipino dishes (specifically palabok--their section of noodles was pitifully small); and while the prices at first seemed comparable to other Filipino restaurants in the area, as soon as the dishes arrived I was taken aback at how tiny the portions were for the price (definitely single serving, though one typically expects to share Filipino food family-style). Ordered some classic Filipino dishes--adobo, pinakbet, lumpia--and felt like the dishes missed the mark. The adobo lacked its signature flavor and quality overall. Service was hit-or-miss: had one very friendly waiter who was nevertheless not super attentive, and another was plain rude. ‍ Tito Rad's will be my go-to Filipino spot in Queens until further notice. read more

Really enjoyed the food here. Had the pork sisig with garlic rice, sisig tacos, and fried milk fish. There was just so much flavor and portions were decent. Will come back to try more. read more

This was my first time at this restaurant and there was no wait since I went on a weekday at around noon time. I would say this your typical filipino restaurant. Nothing fancy in the decor and the food was fine. The menu was pretty much the same from what you see in other filipino restaurants. The staff was courteous and the food came out fairy quick. I would eat there again. read more

Wish I checked out the reviews because I had Kare Kare and it was bland. The meat did not fall off bone like I expected. Lumpia was good, garlic rice was good. Sisiq was not as good as I expected. Having said that the service was pretty good, very nice people but food not enough for me to go back. read more

There's a lot of Filipino spots in the area. This one ain't it chief. Food was dry, and AC wasn't on. It was hot when we went here, I guess they're really trying to give you that real Philippines vibe amirite? read more

Amazing Sisig! Try the avocado shake too! It was so refreshing amongst all the delicious fried food.

Fairly new joint with limited space and ok service. However, I ordered tapsilog and received tocilog - i can understand the miscommunication there, so fine. Also, this order indicates it comes with garlic rice and atchara - I received neither. I asked for the atchara and later saw we were charged for it on the bill. We were given two sets of utensils with only one napkin wrapped around both of them. They're new, so hopefully they work out the kinks. The location is convenient, if you don't want to deal with Woodside traffic to and from 69th street and Roosevelt Ave. Good luck! read more

You like FILIPINO FOOD? COME HERE! As far as Filipino Food goes, this deserves the win to me here in NY, the service the food, everything here is just outright good! I have had their sisig, sisig tacos, pork bbq, pork belly, and more pork dishes too many to name , but have enjoyed it all..especially their pork sinigang which is a pork stew . The lechon kawali is definitely also very yummy and juicy here if not very unhealthy but so good! Okay I might be exaggerating too much , but it is really good here, definitely one of the better if not best in terms of Filipino food here in New York City. Maybe small but the staff here is very nice and attentive compared to other Filipino spots around. Parking at least in the times i've been here probably about 4 or 5, is relatively easy considering it is in Elmhurst which is typically crowded and has you circling for spots usually. read more

Great food and service. I usually don't like bangus but their sisig bangus is a must try!

Best sisig in NYC, and the best Pinoy restaurant in Queens. It's a good thing that this place is just far enough away from my apartment to not be walking distance, or else I might be here everyday. Also, I deeply appreciate a Filipino restaurant without karaoke/singing. Call me a hater, but I don't enjoy having to shout across the table to my dining companion. read more

So disappointing to order in this place. Never again will i do business with you! read more

Service is terrible. I'm not sure if the servers were catering to Filipinos first or if they were just being plain racist towards other Asians who weren't Filipino. As a mixed Chinese and Filipino I didn't feel welcomed at all alongside my boyfriend and his brother who are also Chinese. They didn't service us the way they did to the other tables. When my party first came in, I asked if we could sit inside but the waitress told us no because they already cleaned those tables. Soon after, a Filipino family came in and they sat at the table that I requested to sit at. I was very upset in that interaction. Food was just okay, mediocre Filipino food where it tasted like they used the packets for the Sinigang. After we finished eating, the waitress didn't ask us if we wanted take out boxes or checked up on us. Instead, they gave the other families take out boxes without them having to ask and constantly checked up on their tables. The wait staff also has the audacity to ask us to tip them 20% when the service was terrible. Take your money someplace else. They need to train their waitresses to NOT just cater to Filipinos. Our party truly felt like we were not welcomed. read more

I really liked this place! I'm plopped on the couch still savoring my tastebuds. We decided to check it out after reading the NY Times review. Did not disappoint. We ordered the sisig chicken tacos, the sisig pork on a sizzling platter, and the crispy pork belly with shrimp paste in coconut milk. And garlic rice. And a mango shake. We even have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! My favorite was the crispy pork belly in coconut milk. It's not a fancy place, but it's clean, has nice staff, and REALLY tasty food. Will definitely be back! read more

This place is pretty small so call to check if they have any tables before coming here! We ordered the sisig tacos, sisig baboy, dinuguan, inihaw na bangus, ginatang sitaw at kalabasa and pancit bihon. We also upgraded all our rices to garlic rice! Their garlic rice is delicious without being too overpowering. Surprisingly, one of our favorites was the dinuguan! It was a perfect tangy flavor with some crispy pork; mix that with the garlic rice and you're in for a treat. Everything else was seasoned well except the bangus, which we felt wasn't as fresh. Otherwise, this was a wonderful meal! read more

My first time going here since it opened. Ordered the (chicken) sisig taco, it's so goooood! Also their mike/miki bihon is just. Ugh. After having the chicken sisig taco, i just had to order the full chicken sisig plate w garlic rice. Run, don't walk to this place! read more
