Had high hopes for this place. It's been three instances now when "they are running behind schedule" in the morning and don't have baked goods ready for purchase. This happened twice during the workweek and once during the weekend. I'm no baker but can assume that 8 or 9 AM is awfully late for baked goods to be waited on. In fact today they did not have croissants ready until way past 9 AM. My husband stopped by and then I called them to confirm...I finally gave up. Theilack of consistency is annoying and makes me want to skip the effort and go somewhere that is more reliable. It's sad to see a good bakery not live up to an appropriate level of service. @Hearher the last time I visited was Saturday June 15th and I stopped by at 8:53 and was told that pasties would not be ready for another hour. This is a cute bakery shop and they have a small variety of cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and other treats. I am giving them a 1 star for their customer service and quality of treats. I went in with my friend this past Tuesday and I ordered a lemon berry vegan cupcake since it's my favorite from Quacks. Since my friend is allergic to nuts, I asked them if it had any and she quickly said no confidently. My friend tried a bite and said she could taste something. Then one of the workers came up to me and said "oh, the other worker wanted me to let you know it actually is made with almond flour." And walked away. First of all, seriously??? I asked you beforehand if it had nuts. If you were unsure, then friggin go check that giant book of allergies so you don't, y'know, KILL someone. Second of all, don't be so NONCHALANT about endangering my friends life and acting if I was just curious if it had nuts or not. YOU.ARE.A.BAKERY. People have allergies you should take seriously and adhere to and if your workers don't know them by heart, you should ALWAYS double check. Third of all, it tasted terrible and too moist and sticky. This place is right before our apartment complex and my boyfriend and i cant get enough! They have the nicest staff, the best cakes - always so delish and high quality! The wait is never too long, and if you make it before 8 am in the morning you can get your hands on the red velvet croissant ( iv never managed to get there in time) - iv heard they are amazing! Meh. I ordered a cake for a birthday, and the cake itself tasted good. The way it looked was just very blah. I think it was like $25 extra for the "decorations". I did say I don't have anything specific in mind, just write happy birthday and make the cake look nice. They wrote happy birthday on the cake but the color was almost identical to the cake and you could barely see it. There was literally nothing else decorative on the cake. They airbrushed the sides a little bit with the same exact color as the words, so you also could barely see that. It was the most boring looking cake ever. read more

Not bad. Good enough. Very cute space & their cupcake taste so yummy. The only thing is that the customer service isn't very friendly. Like I was putting away the dishes in that small table where you are suppose put away the dishes, and the guy who works there got mad when I tried putting in the dishes away for him since he was taking some dirty dishes away (to wash I guess). He kinda slammed the container of dishes in front of me as if he was mad. Like not horrible slam more of like as if he was annoyed by me. Like, I was just putting away the dishes since it's 'do it yourself' type of thing to put away the trash. Sigh. Like why was he mad? You're giving bad vibes to people. I was just trying to make it easier for you. Sigh. Oh well. I hope the customer service here gets better. The lady in the front desk or cashier was nice though but the dishwasher collector guy wasn't very nice. I was disappointed. Maybe or maybe he didn't do it intentionally. During a recent trip to Austin, My husband and I found this wonderful bakery by accident. What a great accident! He had his favorite: carrot cake that was amazing!! The frosting was very generous. And I enjoyed the chocolate cupcake with light green frosting. The cake was perfectly flavored - not overdone like chocolate can be sometimes. And the frosting on that cupcake was silky and delicious!!! We went back a second time before it was time to travel home. read more

First of all, I love Quack's on 43rd. I'm not sure what they are trying to do at Lady Quackenbush's. I asked for a green tea and it was the color of iced coffee. It was also cloudy. Less time should be spent on making this place cute and pink and more time should be spent on making sure they are making quality drinks. Quack's on 43rd always gets it right! Lady Quackenbush's should just be a replica of the OG Quack's. I find myself driving to the one on 43rd because I can always count on them! read more

The general manager is belittling the employees the entire time I am standing in line, making the poor girl cry, meanwhile she is sitting at a table not helping out in any way at all. I'm not going to lie one bit. I wanted dearly to dislike this place. I personally wasn't prepared for the pace at which the retail machine that became Mueller took over my once quaint section of Austin. I loved so many of the unique things that once were there. I digress, my wife and I moved down south ( slaughter and Manchaca) content to leave those attempting to Cali or Dallas our Austin, and found a bakery we loved... actually we found a corner store that had a bakery that we thought baked the best red velvet cake in the state. Turns out the slices we fell in love with cake from, you guessed it Lady Quacks. The store we went to purchased them in mass and we bought them up regularly. My wife recently turned 30 and I went in to buy an entire truckload when I learned the news. I would be needing cupcakes and a multi layer cake as individual slices simply wouldn't do. We were also hosting a Super Bowl party that same weekend. I got in my car and drove my a** up to Mueller and got enough baked goods to fully outfit the partiewith a bevy of treats from the best place in the Mueller development. I'm admitting to being 100% wrong and Lady Quacks has fully won me over. Keep making the world brighter one baked goodie at a time. read more

This place says it's open 7am but sometimes they don't open till after 7:30. Some of them will stand there on their phones watching you stand outside after a long time. I assume they don't care about business since they let there customers walk away due to their unpreparedness. read more

I found this bakery through friends at Seminary of the SouthWest college. Best find so far for me since I have been in Texas. The pastries are so fresh and delicious, the peanut butter chocolate cupcake is so moist. My friend had a slice of quiche, she said it was wonderful. Great find. We reached out to them in order to order a smash cake and cupcakes for our child's first birthday, which we were EXTREMELY excited for. Afterwards, we went in person and purchased multiple items in order to taste test everything. Then we went back and forth with designs for the cake and cupcakes with Lady Quackenbush and finalized them. We were out of town the Saturday before the order was due to be ready (a full week before), and it seems we forgot to make payment for everything - our mistake. I guess in the very first email it stipulated when payment needed to be made, but instead of anyone following up with us to request it, they just cancelled our order and waited to inform us on Tuesday, instead of earlier when they actually cancelled it. They let us know they can make us a plain cake and no cupcakes - oh thanks. They refused to allow us to pay for it on Tuesday when they informed us. While we as customers made a mistake/oversight, as a business they handled it horribly. There was no reason they could not check in with us regarding payment. we never refused payment or ignored their request for payment. We put a lot of energy and effort into designing the different items and picking out flavors for each one. We were in consistent communication with them about it. Then they just dropped us. Horrible, and shame on them. Fortunately, for those of you who read this entire post and became vested in the story, we found a client-oriented bakery who was willing to help us getting everything we need for our child's first birthday. read more

I had a craving for chocolate mousse cake one night and I came here. They are open late and I found a double or triple chocolate slice of cake. I savored the cake for three nights and then cam back and bought two more slices to bring home. I also bought a peanut butter fudge cupcake as a souvenir. I was told the cupcake wasn't anything special but I highly suggest the cakes. The place itself is Adorable. This would be a great place to go on a date, hang out with friends or bring your kids. There's plenty of seating, the bathrooms are clean and cute, there are food trucks, walking paths, a park and a children's museum close by. If you plan your day around it you could spend several hours in the area. read more

We truly felt like welcomed, valued customers when we worked with her, which made the experience that much better. Our cakes were delicious (and affordable) and everyone enjoyed them! Great espresso large treats and super friendly staff. The drip coffee isn't that great so definitely opt for the espresso drinks.
