This is a great place to stop by for a treat if you are in the area. They have very reasonable pricing for their delicious baked goods. There is limited socially distanced seating outside and they are following all COVID-19 safety protocols. I ordered one of their savory croissants and it was the perfect breakfast for me. What a cute little place! This was my first time to the Mueller area. It's a great spot. We went to the movies then decided to walk around. Saw there's an ice cream shop but also read there was a bakery around the corner! We decided on the bakery and weren't disappointed. I could have sworn I wrote a review for this place! The staff are very friendly. Like, between them and the ambiance, total pleasure go here. Since I just moved here I'm a lapsing vegan, so I suppose I'm a flexitarian. Just wanted to provide that context. On the vegan front I've tried four vegan options, and I'd rate them in the following order: 1. Vegan Chocolate Ganache Cupcake - never could guess that it was vegan. Moist and delicious. I've become addicted to them. 2. Vegan Chocolate Muffin - same story as with the cupcake. Totally dangerous. 3. Vegan Vanilla Cupcake - It was fine. It either aged super fast or was never great to begin with. 4. Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate Cup - This was just disappointing. You could make better yourself or just buy Justin's. For non-vegan options, I've had the croissant, the mocha chocolate cupcake, the peanut butter cheese cupcake, and I could swear one more option, but literally every option was great. For my birthday I can pretty well guarantee it will be from here. I feel really lucky to have found an awesome place so nearby. read more

Hats off to Makeda and Della (and the gentleman too--Tony? Cory? Sorry mate, I forget your name). So, we go here often since we live close by. I bought some cookies a few days ago but noticed one of those was missing when I got home. I call them and Makeda admitted they had forgotten to put is in the bag, and if I wanted to swing by to get it or get a credit. I opted to swing by but never made it back. Well, several days later (today), I stop by for some tacos and casually mention the "lost" cookie. Della simply asked me which one it was and just gave me one. There was no way for her to know I was being truthful--I actually pointed that out and she said, "Well, we are are about building community". Sure, the cookie was a couple bucks, but it isn't about the money as much as it is about culture and humanity. And, these folks excel at those two things (and many more, I'm sure). Going into planning my recent wedding, there was one things that we knew for sure: we absolutely love Quack's and wanted to have it be a part of our wedding day. We not only ordered our wedding cake from them but also ordered an entire dessert bar from Quack's: brownies, pies, cookies, you name it and they made it for us. Everything was so amazing and beautiful! Our guests still bring up how much they loved it, and if I had to plan again I would do everything the exact same. Decent bakery but I was disappointed by the custom cake I ordered for my kid's birthday last year. The filling was incorrect and when I emailed them about it, it didn't seem like they cared that they made a mistake and they didn't offer a partial refund or future discount or anything (I didn't ask either). This review is solely for ordering a cake. I placed an order for a GoT themed birthday cake on Apr 8th to be picked up Apr 14th. While placing the order, the cake designer assisting me said she recommended about $50 allocated for decoration of the cake itself, on top of the base cake price of 36.50. She mentioned some possible designs that they might do "a blood ganache drip, maybe a small iron throne", all in all I expected a pretty interesting design especially for a cake coming out to almost $90. The decorations were sadly disappointing, with nothing on the face of the cake but a "happy name day" and a greenish frosting covering. I'm sorry but how exactly does that come out to being remotely close to being worth $50 in decoration??! I have no issues with the cake itself, it was really good and absolutely worth the price at 36.50$ but I would never have a custom cake made here again at that price point and quality from it. They mentioned there were many GoT cake ordered for the season premier that Sunday but the cake was place a week in advance? Idk all in all pretty disappointing and everyone at the watch party was pretty amused at the fact I dropped 90$ for that cake. *EDIT* Added 2 stars for the level of professionalism Heather had contacting me after this review. She whole heartedly agreed with the lack of detail of the decorator and apologized for it. She issued a full refund and told me the steps she's since then implemented to prevent something like this from occurring again in the future! This place is adorable! I follow quacks on Instagram and started following last quacks before they even opened. I hadn't had an occasion to stop in but saw on Instagram they were having a drop in cookie decorating class! I was sold as quacks has some of the cutest cookies ever and I've recently been trying at home to learn to decorate. We came in and I was the first person to pop in to learn, I got a Sophia champagne in a van and boyfriend got a beer. Drinks and cookie decorating? Yes and yes and I'll say it once more - yes! They had 3 giant shortbread cookies to decorate and I learned a new technique for flooding which I'm 100% going to use at home. I've already done some cookie decorating so this was more like practice but I definitely learned a few tricks I didn't know before. If they had a more advanced technique class I would for sure take it. We got to take the cookies home and idk what they put in their shortbread but it's like crack. These cookies were massive and they were gone by morning. For sure the best shortbread I've ever had - if they had shortbread baking class I'd take that too lol! read more

If you're really into the 43rd St Quack's, which seems designed to keep Austin weird, I'm mildly curious what you'll think of this squeaky clean new expansion. Bring some shades because it's definitely bright & shiny, and they'll be making all their cakes here from now on. And offer you beer & wine with Antonelli's cheese selections as well. We love Lady Quack's! It's a fun place to grab an iced oat chai and pastry before taking a walk around the lake. The pastry options are plentiful and include various cookies, croissants, muffins, and more. The cake and cupcake options are tasty too. Honestly, the only downside is they're not open on Mondays which is always when I want to visit But loading up on sweets on Sundays is no hardship so it's all good. Check them out! Oh and pets aren't allowed inside (thank goodness) but are ok on the covered patio outside so Lady Quack's is a good place to take your pet for some shade and rest after walking around Mueller. read more

I know the cinnamon rolls are dry but these really feel more like stale and the Danish was stale as well. The latte was like a cup of warm milk with little coffee in it. This is the third time I've tried to enjoy my visit and it will definitely be my last. The place is filthy and the woman who works in pastries behind the glass separating the restaurant/cafe from her work space is a sourpuss. No smiles, no joy in what she's doing. The lacksadaisical attitude is infuriating. There are gross crumbs and pieces of cake in between the slates that are the seating area, the tables were filthy indoors and out. NO thank you. I stopped by lady Quackenbush Cakery today after an afternoon at the Thinkery with my son. My son picked two cookies that were decorated with royal icing and I chose A peanut butter cookie, a chocolate chip cookie, and two of the Czech almond cookies. My kids were happy with their simple sugar cookies decorated as peeps. I found my peanut butter cookie to not even taste like peanut butter. It was dry and maybe stale or something but not very good. The Czech almond cookie also tasted pretty stale. I didn't find the space inside as inviting as quacks in Hyde Park. It just kind of seemed like a space that you run in to grab a cake but not sit or hang out. I didn't love it and I wouldn't make a special trip back there but I would probably let my kids choose a cookie if we happened to be in the area. read more

The best neighbors to have! This place is so good! I've tried a handful of things from them, including a cake for a birthday and everything is so moist and delicious. The cookie dough cupcakes are like heaven in cupcake form. They give you a good size portion of everything and nothing breaks the bank. Where else can you get a cookie for $2? The staff is super sweet. My favorite breakfast item is the almond croissants because I love the paste in the middle (most places don't do a paste in the croissants os these are not dry at all)! Their hours are great too they are open super early 7 am, earlier than most places and close late enough that you can grab something after dinner still. I don't spend much time in this area but I happened to meet a mom friend at the Thinkery one afternoon. Afterwards I took a stroll around the park and was hungry for a snack. I was headed to my car and all of a sudden noticed this cute little bakery. I decided to check it out. It seems to be in the perfect location if you ask me. I tried the funfetti cupcake, chocolate peanut butter cookie and a hibiscus tea. The frosting on the cupcake was perfect. The cupcakes are on the smaller size but still super tasty. My cookie was excellent too! My tea was served in beautiful glass with sonic like ice. Simply delicious. One of my new favorite bakeries! Being a native Austinite, I was already quite familiar with Quack's and their tasty breads and cookies, but only heard of this location a few weeks ago. I went here last Saturday for a Japanese Street Fashion Club meet up and fell in love immediately! The place itself is absolutely adorable: decked out in pastels, floral wallpaper, vintage-inspired knick knacks, and the Quack's mascot on the sign out front. The treats in the display case were equally tantalizing, with decorated cookies, cupcakes, muffins, and more lining the shelves. I went ahead and ordered the tea service for my table, and it comes with: Two sandwiches cut into fours, four cookies of your choice, and a pot of tea. We chose the basil chicken salad and ham & swiss sandwiches, both of which were quite good. I do think they were made by a 3rd party though since they were pulled from a fridge in the back, but I'm unsure. For cookies, we tried the strawberry thumbprints, Nutella thumbprints, coconut macaroon, and Czech wedding cookies. The thumbprints were lovely, and the friends who ate the wedding cookies and macaroons were equally impressed. I also ordered a few things to go since I was headed to a party afterwards, so I got some chocolate raspberry cupcakes, and chocolate croissants. The chocolate cupcakes...honestly they were perfect. I didn't really need the raspberry frosting because the cupcake itself was so moist and chocolatey. If they made a bundt of that cake, I would definitely order it for my next function. I was able to snag the last chocolate croissant from the party for my breakfast the next morning, and it was so flaky, buttery, and delicious. Everything I tried was wonderful, and the staff were so kind! We had a lot of people come in for the meetup, and they were able to get everyone taken care of with no problems! This place is cute inside and has a variety of bakery items. I think the place is not bad but not a place I would come back. Nothing too special caught my eyes. I had to wait a while at the counter before I got my order, not one to usually complain but I guess it was long enough for me to not know what to do haha it was on a Sunday morning and only one person taking order and she has to prepare the orders too. I got a butter croissant but I didn't think it was super great. It looked great. But when I got it, it wasn't toasted, and it was not crispy. I expect the croissant to be crispy since it should be fresh but guess not? It's just a little disappointing when I paid $2.50 for it. But other items looked great we're the chocolate croissant, almond croissant, and the cinnamon cupcake looking roll! I've had pastries like that from somewhere else and it looks just like it, so those might be better options. They're also $3.50 each. My friend got the raisin bran muffin and it was pretty good and filling according to her. I don't want to give them a bad rating but honestly it didn't stand out to me. And you're going to have to find street parking in this area, which there are plenty. But if you're paranoid about street parking for some reason, there's a parking lot that cost you $1 and hour.
