I'm not usually very impressed with bakery items sold in farmer's markets. Well, Ladie Kakes changed my mind. It was a serendipitous way we encountered this excellent brand, a free box of Ladie Kakes products were donated at the places Bf went to do his taxes. He took a cranberry oatmeal cookie and two butterscotch brownies. The shared cookie was excellent but the butterscotch brownies were out of this world complete showstoppers. Really more like a tender morsel of cake in texture and taste and not overwhelming gangbusters sweet. Other sites list the farmers schedules where Ladie Kakes can be found. I will be seeking those butterscotch brownies and what else might be offered. While not a fan of this type of plastic used for packaging, if it is used to keep the products fresh, it does that job very well. The woman at the booth was so sweet and my interactions with whoever runs their social media was equally as friendly and helpful. Wow! I'm in love! A little pricey but for good reason! Handmade. Fresh. And delicious! Came to Bixby Park's farmer market Tuesday night and had a sweet tooth to satisfy and Ladie Kakes did just that! We got a chocolate chip cookie, a white chocolate raspberry, Whoopie pie, and a caramel pecan cookie for $15. All of them were delicious. My kids and I fought over rationings and crumbs. Not too sweet or rich. Baked perfectly. Soft and fresh. I am definitely going to keep supporting and spreading the word on this company. The cake was decorated beautifully and the taste was perfect. Soft, flavorful and salt free! Everyone enjoyed it! No one even knew that the cake was made with the usual ingredient. Most importantly My mother was over the moon about a cake she could eat guilt free. A week later I reached out for a cake for my husband for his birthday this time chocolate everything. Lucked up on this talented baker at a flea market this weekend. I tried the butter pecan cookie which was super moist, with nice crisp edges. The butter flavor really came through. I would have preferred it to be just a tad sweeter, but overall, very enjoyable! I also tried the "lemonie" (similar to a brownie, but no chocolate...like a lemon bar).
