For my daughters graduation, we decided to finally try La Terrazza! Heard so many good things, so its about time! Special occasions, call for a special place. And being a lover of italian food, we just had to. Ordered the calamari - arguable one of the best out there. Even comes with slices of squid, apart From the traditional squid rings. So tender and succulent. Slight drizzle of olive oil and perfectly seasoned. A classic masterpiece. We also tried the Angus Reserved beef Carpaccio. OMG! So good! Nice curing and so thinly sliced, melt in your mouth goodness. Came with a side of cheesy quesadilla like bread. So good. Even the table bread was awesome Too. All house made and so unique. The lamb chops were so tender, grilled and served to perfection. Even the potato coins were slightly torched, giving a crispy texture and tender inside. For mains ..we tried the signature bolognese. A generous portions of stropazzetti pasta tossed with a their signature bolognese sauce. It was so rich and full of crumbled beef. So heavenly. Came Pipping hot and fresh. Next we tried the Tagliatelle Wagyu! Another winner. Nice serving of braised short rib wagyu with pasta and porcini mushrooms. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert. Each dish exceptionally good and hearty. Everything tasted like grandmas sunday cooking. And that folks, is what real and traditional italian cooking about. No msg or filler. Just pure goodness, earthiness, and heart-warming passion for cooking. Real food ,real traditions. Chef Genaro is truly an itlalian master chef. Ambiance is very romantic. Chandeliers, nice couches and seats, mood lighting, etc. NOT an itallian supper club vibe but fine dining. Only thing missing was italian music lol. Cheers! Happy eating!

We came for happy hour on a Thursday and the lounge was not packed. Make sure you specify that you are coming in for happy hour as the area for dinner and happy hour are different. The happy hour menu is huge and the price is well priced. We ordered the beef carpaccio, Caprese salad, truffle fries and espresso martini. The beef carpaccio was quite nice. I liked the capers on top. When paired with the cheese flatbread the cheese was somewhat overpowering but still very enjoyable. Would order again. The Caprese salad was light and fresh tasting. The balsamic vinegar was the cherry on top. The truffle fries were not the best. Lots of truffle but the fries themselves were not as crunchy as I would have liked. Would not get again. We also ordered an espresso martini (not on the menu - around $15). Definitely on the sweeter side but still very tasty and well made. Overall the food is delicious and the lounge is beautiful. The service is very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place for happy hour as they have an extensive menu.

This isn't the fairest of reviews given how quickly we ate because of a time crunch. However, the way I would sum this quick dining experience is: "meh." The restaurant is HUGE, don't let the small lounge at the entrance fool you. I almost wish we had dinner at the lounge instead of the the main dining room. In a space this large, having a few tables here and there makes the space a little "too much". Portions are large here - nothing to complain about. Food is decent but nothing spectacular. You don't get the "wow this is good" reaction from your first bite. Not bad and just passable would be my way to put it. Prices though, are somewhat high. Maybe they don't have a choice? Perhaps they are competing against Cioppino a few streets aways in Yaletown and perhaps the hefty rent they must be paying. Lounge has happy hour from 5-7.

I was here for an industry event and while entering, I was superbly impressed with the decor of the restaurant! We were initially in the patio so everyone could get some drinks and h'ordeurvres. The restaurant had the foresight to have vegan/vegetarian food options as well as non alcoholic drinks. The room where we were located was across the restaurant which meant everyone ( group of about 60 people) had to walk through a crammed restaurant, disturbing and bumping into other seating guests. The room where the actual event was, was crammed as well making it hard to move around. We were instantly served wine and were asked what our main was as well as any dietary restrictions. Again, the restaurant had vegetarian as well as vegan and gluten free options. The wait staff was obviously overwhelmed with so many orders and so many different dietary preferences. My entire table was served including the people who had dietary restrictions but they forgot to serve one person on the table. As our table was right at the end, the wait staff kept serving the tables in the front without checking in. This meant that person had to flag someone down to ask where their meal was and what made it just a little worse was that they actually did not have any dietary preferences which could have delayed the meal but it was awkward that everyone in the room was eating except them. Now the food. The pasta was delicious- probably the best I have ever had and I would have loved to get seconds. Similarly with the dessert which was a cheesecake inside filo. There was some creme brulee for those with special needs but unfortunately nothing for those who are gluten free. For the main, I got the chicken which was served with potatoes, asparagus and balsamic glaze. As delicious as the pasta was, this was the complete opposite. Seems the chef forgot to even season the dish and the balsamic sauce/glaze was non existent. I would love to go back for the pasta but the other things definitely put me a little off!

Since my last review I think the kitchen has improved even more absolutely five stars. Such wonderful hospitality we feel like part of the family now.

Ambiance A+ Service A+ Food A++ Everything here was exceptional. We started with the truffle flatbread to share. Followed by a complimentary grilled mushroom appy with black truffle for my friends birthday. For entrees we got the Spaghetti a la carbenero which was to die for and topped with a lobster tail. So exquisite. As well as the grilled squid steak calamari (also to die for). For dessert my friend wanted the pumpkin creme brûlée .. I'm not typically a fan of creme brûlée - but I was blown away by this one. I only wanted a half glass of wine with dinner so they even accommodated that and brought me a half glass instead of a full. This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to I think. 5 stars all around.

Believe it or not this was my first time here, considering I've been living in Vancouver all my life. I've seen it many times from the outside, but never made an effort to check it in. The outside does not do justice to this beautiful restaurant. It is quite large, elegant and romantic. Though, there are tons of tables full of women enjoying a ladies night. There are two larger private tables in a separate area if you wanted to have a bday party. They were fully booked. Me and a friend were seated at a side table with big large comfy chairs. The low lighting just gives elegance to this place, as well as the subtle art. The food was overall good. My pasta was amazing. I ate it all!! So good! It was the Giulio's pasta. Ugh my mouth is still watering. We started by sharing calamari. It was ok, but it had this weird "squid steak", which basically was like seafood spam. The texture was just yuck. Me and my friend left most of it, we couldn't even take it down. For dessert I had to have their tiramisu. It was small but very rich and decadent. It hit the spot. For drinks I stuck to the Cupid's arrow which was delicious but not strong enough. Then I had them make me a lemon drop raspberry martini (off the menu) and it was *chef's kiss.* The only reason they lost a star, is because the service was unbearably slow. It was hard to get our waitress to get us another drink. It seemed that she was overwhelmed. Waiting around for your next drink can kill your night. So that was my only complaint. She was very nice though. If you haven't been here and love pasta, it's a must to check out. Bon Appetit!

4th Course: Pan seared duck breast with beet and baby bok choy.

Came by on a Friday night for a celebration dinner in a group of 8. I understand there were some recent renovations...I was not here previously so no comparison, but I liked the atmosphere of the room. And the service was fantastic. We had wine pairings with the dinner and the host did a great job of explaining why he selected the wines for the respective courses. It was a marathon dinner well over 3 hours with a set 6 courses and 6 bottles of paired wines. They make their bread products in house and there were several varieties in the bread basket...all perfect for dipping in the balsamic & oil. The 1st course was roasted beets, candied walnuts with a goat cheese mousse. This was paired with a sparkling wine. Both were okay and a nice light entry into the meal. The 2nd course was grilled squid, calamari and prawns with a jalapeño lime reduction. This was paired with a chardonnay. The calamari and prawns were nice but I found limited flavour with the squid. The 3rd course was gnocchi in a roma tomato sauce. This was paired with a chianti. This gnocchi was great and perfectly paired with the chianti. The 4th course was pan seared duck breast with beet and baby bok choy. This was paired with a Chilean carménère/syrah blend. I liked the full bodied wine and it was a nice complement to the duck breast. The 5th course was grilled beef tenderloin, carrot puree with a Sangiovese reduction. This was paired with an Argentinian bonarda. The beef was perfectly cooked and paired well with the wine. The 6th (and final) course was white chocolate mascarpone cheesecake wrapped in a phyllo pastry. This was paired with a moscato. The dessert was just the right amount after such a large meal and the sweet wine was a nice way to finish the meal. It was a great meal, with great service and a very positive food experience. I am very happy to recommend La Terrazza.

La Terrazza has been around for a long time, since 1998 to be exact and they've maintained a high standard. I never noticed they had Happy Hour so when we found out, naturally we had to go. (5:00PM - 7:00PM) Their house red or white, well drinks and draft beers are $5 and they have a decent selection of appetizers. We tried all the items on the Happy Hour menu, but some of the ones that stood out were: Calamari Misto - crispy baby calamari, tiger prawns, toasted garlic-jalapeno lime reduction. Seafood was not overcooked. So light and crispy. Bruschetta con Boccocini - garlic crostini, cow's milk mozzarella, vine-ripened tomato, fresh basil. Fresh, not salty at all and you can taste all the natural flavors of all the ingredients. Strozzapreti Bolognese - strozzapreti pasta, Chef Gennaro's tomato-meat ragu, parmigiano reggiano. Cooked to perfection and I'm so glad we ordered two plates.

One of our favourite restaurants in Yaletown. The beef carpaccio is a must have here and the meatballs are excellent too. One of the best dishes here is the Giulio's pasta, and one of us almost always orders it. On this visit, we also had the filetto (beef tenderloin). Thanks La Terrazza.

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. That said, the toppings were generous, especially for the linguine crab that I ordered (would highly recommend!). Come by before they close permanently!

The veal was juicy and perfectly seasoned and paired with the creamy pasta was perfect. We ended with the panacotta which was fresh, fruity and light! Will definitely be back!!

My friends and I recently shared a few dishes here, and while the flavors were truly impressive,…read morethe portion sizes left us wanting more. We started with the complimentary bread, which was a total highlight. Each person gets a fresh slice that has an incredible crust and a soft, pillowy center--dipping it into the oil and vinegar was the perfect way to start the meal. For our mains, the Gnocchi Asparagi e Funghi was my favorite - the gnocchi themselves were clearly handmade and had a great texture that didn't feel heavy. The earthy mushrooms and asparagus worked really well with the parmesan cream, which was rich but didn't overpower the other flavors. The Squid Ink Linguine ai Frutti di Mare was also solid; the lobster bisque base gave it a deep, savory saltiness that coated the clams, prawns, and scallops perfectly without making the dish feel too "fishy." We also tried the Candele Al Ragù D'Anatra. The duck ragu was tender and savory, and the combination of the parmesan fondue and aged asiago added a nice, sharp saltiness that made every bite really satisfying. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh, it's just a shame the portions were so small because the flavors were definitely there. The service was excellent and very attentive; I especially appreciated that they were constantly on top of refilling my water throughout the night. The ambience also hit the right note, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the portions are definitely on the smaller side and aren't super filling. Even though every dish tasted amazing, we weren't full by the end of the meal, so it's something to keep in mind if you're arriving with a big appetite.

The restaurant was cute, cozy, and could seat us right away so we decided to give it a try. We got the poached pear salad and enjoyed it! The pears were delicious and a very refreshing salad. It did come with burrata on top which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't gooey at all. For our mains, we split the pesto rigatoni and the special which was also a rigatoni with white wine, capers, shrimp and lemon. First off, the noodles are delicious on both dishes. They are clearly handmade in the best way possible. Very tender, delicate, and almost melt in your mouth. The pesto dish was perfect but again the burrata on top was disappointing since it was sort of tough/dry and not gooey. The special dish was very good but the lemon was quite strong. Initially it was a bit too much but it did grow on you over time and I did like the dish. We ended with a tiramisu and while it was delicious, there wasn't much of the bread/cake/cookie part as it was mostly cream. Overall, it was fun to try a new place but I expected a more for the price point. For $35 per plate plus salad and dessert it was a very expensive dinner and we weren't full.
