This location is SO much better than the downtown chandler location. I came here with some coworkers on Friday night, and I'm glad I gave La Ristra another chance. We all started off with drinks - I had the Arizona sunset marg. Excellent choice! I love a good, fruity, frozen marg ;) we also shared the chorizo queso. Soooo yummy! For my entree, I had the New Mexican Traditional Burrito plate. I chose the green Chile pork with green sauce on the side. The pork was so tender and flavorful, but I didn't feel like it was spicy. I am glad I got the sauce on the side though, because I didn't really like the flavor. I'll try another one next time! I opted for sides of rice and black beans (you get to pick two sides!), and they were both great. The burrito was HUGE! So I brought some home for my husband, who quickly devoured the leftovers. We had excellent service, our server McClain was very attentive and friendly. There is plentiful seating in the restaurant, and we all enjoyed the live music. I came here for lunch with some work colleagues and was looking forward to trying this place out. They started us off with chips and salsa, which were good, but nothing special. I ordered the 2 item combo and got a crunchy beef taco and a small cup of pazole with black beans and grilled corn. I was kind of disappointed they didn't offer traditional refried beans. You can either get pinto beans or black beans. The taco shell was kind of thin, but it was stuffed with shredded beef and some shredded cheese. They put some shredded lettuce and tomatoes on the side. I forgot to mention that we ate all of the salsa with the chips and they never asked if we wanted more salsa or not. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't give me any salsa for my taco so I just ate it dry. They also didn't season my roasted corn and there was no salt and pepper at the table. The red pazole was good, but nothing special. It wasn't served with any radishes or a lime wedge like traditional pazole. The corn was good but it wasn't served very hot and it was kind of over cooked and a bit chewy. The black beans were just ok and not seasoned very well. All in all, I was disappointed in La Ristra and didn't think their food or service was worth it. Our server was very nice but I didn't get salsa for my taco because she disappeared for about 10 minutes and I didn't want it to get cold. This was a one and done for me. read more

Love their Pork adovado!!! The owner is related to the Los Dos Molinos restaurant family. Great salsa's, if you like it spicy hot. They also have mild which I don't think Los Dos Molinos does. The tequila selection is also very extensive. My wife and I are regulars because their food and service is consistently great. read more

The decor was like being in a New Mexico restaurant. The margaritas are great. We both had the shredded chicken burrito made chimichanga style with Christmas sauce, it could have used a little more sauce but there was plenty of meat in it, the pinto beans were good and the calabacita was very flavorful and delicious. It came with guacamole and sour cream. Overall a great lunch. Our waitress was very efficient and came back twice to see if we needed anything else. There was free chips and 3 sauces brought to the table as soon as we sat down. I've driven by this place and finally tried it and will recommend it to everyone! read more

We had the green chili casserole and it was good but it's not very green chili Ish. Also, the restaurant does claim to be from New Mexico, but not sure not sure. I am from New Mexico for what it is worth. The beans were excellent and the service was subpar. Unfortunately, didn't have the best experience Friday night. Things started off great, we were seated right away and got drinks and an appetizer ordered, but then it went downhill. Our server came by and asked if we were resdy to order, we were chit chatting, so I wasn't quite ready and assumed she'd be back 5-10 mins max. We were here for our fifth time last evening. We ordered the combination fajitas and some of the queso for our chips. The waitress offered to upsell us to a queso that they had a special on for the evening. We approved her offer, but the castle wasn't nearly as good as our standard queso dish. This one had black beans and other things in it that she didn't really explain. I thought the fajitas we're a little heavy on the vegetables and light on the proteins, chicken beef and shrimp. I thought our waitress was attentive, but she had way too many tables to get back around to us on frequent basis It appeared the managerial staff. We're having a good time back behind the bar, giggling and laughing, and having a good time, but didn't make the rounds to come by and check on us, or the other tables around us to see about our satisfaction with our dining experience. Second time of bad service. $9.25 for very small appetizer of guacamole which looked more like a side, and my margarita was so so. The final let down was our sever never came back to check on us after our meal was served. No refills. No nothing because she never cam back at all! I had to ask hostess for salsa and to get our server. When she came out it was to give us the check. No apologies- no thank you for coming. It was near 1pm and not busy at all. Food is decent but prices are too high for no service. When I politely let server know her tip was reflective of her lack of service she didn't seem to be bothered. We will not be back! read more

Ok, I've been to both locations for drinks, dinner and music but today I bought my Christmas tamales from them. I also ordered red and green sauces to accompany them. Well I could not wait til Christmas and had a red beef tamale, with red sauce and egg on top! My family has been making tamales every Christmas for YEARS, and if you don't know-it's a lot of work! Yes, it's a good family event but this was very convenient and economical! They are not cheap to make, so I was concerned because La Ristra sells theirs for 30$ a dozen, at least 6$ less than I've seen. But the quality was EXCELLENT! Nice and HEALTHY with meat and flavor. I purchased green chile corn too, but I haven't sampled that yet but if the red is this good...I'm sure it will be too. So for about 200$ I bought 5 dozen with 4 pints of red and green sauce, plus some green cream sauce. Ordering online was easy and pick up too. The service I had picking up was helpful because she pointed out to me I probably wanted the pints and not the side size Wish I got her name-thank you! Stopped by La Ristra for lunch a couple of weeks ago and am I glad we did. What a great place. Everyone that greeted us, was so friendly and welcoming. Our server was AWESOME!!!! The menu selection is impressive and presents you with some creative New Mexico style dishes. As we looked over the menu, our server brought us a large basket of chips and three types of salsas. Really great flavors and we loved all three types of salsa. She then offered a few of her favorite recommendations. She was extremely knowledgeable and described everything in perfect detail. We placed our drink orders and began to dig deeper into the menu. Too many enticing choices... I couldn't make up my mind. I went with one of the recommendations. The Blue Corn Stacked Enchiladas (such a huge portion and amazing). Couldn't finish everything, but I have it my best. Loved everything about this meal. My sweet wife selected a combo plate, that came with a Beef Taco, Flauta, Rice and roasted corn. Again... a big win. She really enjoyed her choice. Our meals were served hot, quick and the presentation was inviting. The flavors were on point and the service was exceptional. It was a great visit and we will be back again in the future. This place is great!! I never had a bad meal here and I have eaten a lot. The tacos are good but the tamales and the short rib are awesome!! You will love the place as well as the service. He told us our food may be delayed, but BOOM, there it was. The Blue Corn Stacked Enchiladas is her fav and I go for the 3 Generations Tacos. Good flavor, good portions, good price. This is a great downtown Chandler Spot. The Ambiance is what gets this 5 stars for sure. Great open restaurant that would be great to visit during the cooler months of AZ. La Ristra in Chandler is very good. Recently visited and all of us left with a very good taste in our mouth. This location seems to have greatly improved the opinion I had of the one in Gilbert. Their staff does a really good job of taking care of everybody, the place was very busy while we were there. Authentic New Mexican food. They specialize in tequila here and have a wide variety of Tequilas, including their own in house made one. Flights are available too. We sat at the bar during happy hour and they have specials on all drinks, not just well drinks. The bar area is large and open bar with TVs. The elota was good but I don't think it was fresh off the cob. The carne asada was prepared well but not "sliced and served with tortillas" as the menu said - we had to ask for tortillas, then they brought one. The chips are served with 3 salsas, the chips are not as fresh or crisp as I expected and needed salt, but the salsas were delicious and made in house with varying degrees of spice. Really great Service and atmosphere. We will give it another try for sure. read more

Im thrilled about this place! I drive by every day on my way to the gym, and I'm a huge Blue Adobe Grill fan, so the New Mexican style food has always appealed to me. I finally made my way in, and it did not disappoint! I had a lunch special, which was $7.49 and of great value. I had one enchilada with Chile Colorado, Christmas style, and for my sides I had calabacitas and green chile mashed potatoes. The enchilada was good, but I was honestly more into the sides. Calabacitas- a delicious combo of zucchini, roasted corn, some sort of chiles, cheese and idk what else but I loved every bite of it. Green Chile mashed potatoes- exactly what you would think, mashed potatoes with green chiles mashed in there that just made for an excellent combo. Let's not forget about the chips and salsa... I did feel like the chips were slightly stale, but only ever so slightly. Either way, the salsas made up for it. They bring out 3 different kinds, so it made me feel like we were in heaven. Been coming here for years, and always loved this place but it's gone downhill in terms of food quality and service. My wife and I sat outside last night and ordered bean dip and shared fajitas. The bean dip was a soupy mess that was partially cold and lacked any sort of flavor. We also shared the fajitas for our entree. A foodrunner brought out the sides; beans, rice, tortillas etc and said he would be right back with the meat and veggies. After waiting for 10 mins we asked the lady who I think was the manager to check on our food because our waitress was nowhere to be found. 10 mins later our food arrives and as expected was fairly tasteless. We need to revisit this place, Wife and I were out house shopping. Decided to stop here for brunch. Since I noticed the New Mexico style theme, I already knew they were going to have hatch chili. So I was a little exited. I had their biscuit and gravy, they bragged how their gravy has hatch chili. Well, I was not impressed. First their biscuit were awful, and the gravy just wasn't that good. Two of the ladies in our lunch group love La Ristra and convinced the rest of us to go. Unfortunately, this time they were disappointed in their meal, as were a couple of others, which is the only thing holding us back from giving La Ristra five stars. One friend always get a fried egg on top of her enchilada combo plate. I always have to try the tamales, my favorite, and they had a green corn tamale on the menu. I ordered that and an enchilada along with Mexican corn and refried beans as the two sides. Others also stayed with the most common dishes although the menu offered a wider variety than just the usual. We were given chips and three different types of salsas while we waited for our food. All three salsas had too much heat for most of our group. But one lady kept eating the spiciest, the green salsa, until we expected steam to come out of her ears. The chicken tortilla soup got a thumbs up, as did the fajita burrito. The service was excellent. Our server made it fun for the 8 of us, even though we made it harder on her with all of our questions. One of our group is highly allergic to certain foods, but the server offered suggestions to meet that need. read more
