Not happy at all. I was going to post a scathing review but decided not to. I only ate the crust and drank the soda that came with it. I also drank more 'Corona Refresca Más Mango Citrus' than pizza. I am going back out to get some fried rice.

    Chicken Gyro with french fries
    Daniel G.

I came in with an open mind looking for a chicken gyro and I was blessed. The chicken was very tender and juicy. The fries were not too hard and not too soft. My interest was piqued and I ordered a slice of pepperoni and was so pleased. I unfortunately ate it before I took a picture of it but what was so appealing was the fact that it had more than enough pepperoni, unlike other pizza places that don't put enough. Overall my experience eating here was great and I'd definitely recommend ordering from here.

10-pc wings. Buffalo Gold on "top" & Hot & Spicy Garlic on the "bottom"
    Crystine W.

I would avoid their pizza, not the best in the area (at all). Their specialty is their wings (19 different kinds of sauces) so hook yourself up with some of that yumminess. I tried their 10-pc wings with Buffalo Gold sauce and Hot & Spicy Garlic sauce. Buffalo Gold is the true winner though - tangy mustard sauce mixed in with BBQ. The hot & spicy garlic sauce was unique in flavor, but not quite sure how to really describe its taste. Definitely a lot of garlic bits, but not that WHAM-BAM garlic flavor. Also, I noted this even before I went. In Tony Bourdain's "No Reservation's" New Jersey episode, they do replays of a drive-by passing La Pizza at least 5x throughout that episode. Mr. Owner-Man, you really should post some sort of ad about that on your windows :). The owner is the nicest guy ever - incredibly accommodating, incredibly kind and he even rounded our bill down tonight just to keep it even.

(I believe Nino's II existed for a quick moment up there in North Arlington but my memory ain't what it used to be.) After driving past (the original) Nino's on the way home from work for the last few months I realized I was overdue for a visit. First thing: from the outside it looks a bit weathered but inside? It's vibrant and lively and eased my initial concerns. (As soon as I walked in at the very first table was a little kid and his abuela. He made it a point to interact with me coming and leaving and that kid made my day... he's getting 5-stars for being awesome!) As for the pizza... it's a respectable "large" - they ain't skimping, which is a nice change of pace. (Hats off to the pizzaiolo because it wasn't a true/normal/expected circle but something closer to a Reuleaux triangle mixed with a squircle.) Geometry aside... the pie tasted good. Nothing flashy or fancy - just a legit (thin) pie. The (steak) fries were a bit bland and boring, I can't lie. And their cavatelli and broccoli was... decent. It would've benefited from a bit more 'pop' (salt, olive oil, garlic, you name it.) I haven't been here in eons and I hope they'll be around for another 40-something-years. Worth mentioning: it's one of the very few pizzerias to have a liquor license. (I'd definitely come back again for the not-so-perfectly-round pizza but would pass on the fries and pasta...)

The pepperoni and Sicilian slices were particularly impressive, and I would even say this is the best Sicilian pizza I've ever had. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty pizza experience. However, the restaurant appears to be quite deserted, and it would definitely benefit from more patrons to ensure it receives the attention it deserves.

"You won't want to cook anymore" he tells us a bit later. He's not wrong. I had the fish special, cod, served puttanesca, with mash potatoes and spinach. He had the rigatoni bolognese. Perfectly cooked pasta. "Everything is homemade," Angelo explained later. Smart and fairly well-priced wine list. We asked why the 2020 Carparzo Brunello di Montalcino was so low priced, and learned the wine has been priced the same since their father closed their Upper East Side location and the kids opened in Newark. "New York food at NJ prices," Angelo explained. "I've never had tiramisu I've liked better", husband told me. "I've never had flan Ive liked better" I told him. (It is coconut flan.) Great service. If you loved Moonstruck or Godfather movies, this is your place. Theres a long bar with high seats, small tables, and old school booths so you have great choice of seating. We were seated at a table and instantly impressed by the friendliness of the waiter and visit from the pwner. The menu is classic Italian food (no pizza). They bring out a plate of bruschetta on crostini bread which was fresh and delicious. For food, we had Veal piccata and Chicken Francese. My son had Pasta bolognese. Definitely prefer the chicken over the veal, and my son ate his whole,e bowl ao Id say the bolognese is really good too. Veal was just a little tough but the sauce was totally on point, saved the meal. We will absolutely come back to try more dishes. Homemade pasta will def be next visit. Excellent ambience and great friendly staff. Love it.

Girls' night rule #1: pick a place with a vibe. Girls' night…read morerule #2: the food better back it up. Burke's Tavern understood the assignment. None of us had been before, so we walked in blind, except not really, because the second we stepped inside the vibe hit us. Dimmed lights (but not "can't read the menu" dim), candles glowing, plants everywhere, music just loud enough to feel cool but not loud enough to ruin the gossip. Cozy. Chill. Cute. The holy trinity. It wasn't packed, so we had seating options and landed at a round table in the middle: elite positioning, honestly. Door and front windows on one side, bar view on the other. Prime people-watching real estate. Now let's discuss the important part: the food. We ordered strategically (read: everything we wanted). Lamb meatballs - 10/10. Holy crap. I don't know who is back there doing what, but please continue. Burrata pizza - absolutely delicious. Gone in record time. Gochu-Crispy-Chikin - no notes. Million Dollar Chicken - appropriately named. Fish 'N' Chips - zero complaints across the table. And that's the thing: not a single person in the group had an issue. No side-eye. No "it's good, but..." Just clean plates and happy energy. Now. Parking? Disrespectful. It's on a corner (love that), but finding parking took effort (do not love that). Would I let that stop me? Absolutely not. Parking be damned. I will circle. I will walk. I will manifest a spot. Because this place is such a vibe that it's already secured a return visit -- brunch is calling, and I need to see what this place feels like when the weather warms up. Girls' night/date night/ANY night approved.

The atmosphere and restaurant look great. It has a good vibe and the service was great. Let me tell you about the burger, not the best, they give you a slider size patty, overcooked and served on a bun that comes apart when you grab it. I'm not sure about the rest of the menu, but not a burger place. Now the chocolate cake with the raspberry ice cream--wow! This was the best part of the meal. I'm giving this place 4 stars even though I didn't like the burger because that's all I tried. I'll come back and revise this rating up/down if I come back and try other menu items. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Backed by celebrity investors like LeBron James and Maria Shriver, the concept is an assembly-line approach to customizable artisanal-style pies. Think Chipotle, but make it pizza. Personal sized, thin crust pizza (6 slices) is built right in front of you in an open kitchen, then fired in an oven for 3 minutes. You can finish things off with drizzles of various sauces or a handful of arugula if you fancy extra embellishment. Choose a signature pie or build your own - I love that you can have any toppings for one flat price. For the allergen or diet conscious: gluten-free, cauli, and keto crusts are all available alongside the original and high-rise doughs. We also tried the protein-zza, a California-style chicken & veggie pizza made with cauliflower crust. I was fully prepared to be smug about detecting the alternative crust, but couldn't tell the difference at all. It was generously loaded with toppings, and the roasted garlic really made the taste pop. Fresh, vibrant flavors all around. We went on a Sunday so it wasn't too crowded and service was swift, and the pizzas came out beautifully. For a quick-serve franchise, this place delivered high-performance pies that defied my expectations.

May 2026 Monthly meeting of the I.P.A. (International Police Association) Newark Region 48…read more This month's meeting brought us to Kearny, NJ at Mr. Nino's III Brick Oven Trattoria. We've been here before so we knew we were in for a great meal, super friendly and welcoming service, and we were not disappointed. Owner, Andraino, made sure our group of 28 members were made to feel at home in his establishment. Kudos also to our server, Dianna, who managed to handle our group with great expertise. The meal was excellent, from the opening appetizers of bruschetta, antipasto, fried calamari, garlic knots, and a highly recommended pizza. This was followed by perfectly prepared Al Dente penne pasta in a creamy, tasty vodka sauce, with fresh garlic bread on the side. The highlight was yet to come with my entree choice of Shrimp Diavolo. The ample serving of shrimp clearly lived up to the dishes name with tender, succulent shrimp, simmered in a fiery, garlicky tomato sauce. This dish had just the right kick and I just had to sop up most of that sauce with the aforementioned bread. Other entrees included Chicken or Shrimp Parm, Chicken Francese, Shrimp Scampi, and Chicken Murphy. All the dishes were ample and reportedly delicious. Of course, assorted desserts and Cappuccino, Espresso, or Coffee finished off a wonderful meal. I should mention Mr. Nino's III Brick Oven Trattoria is a BYOB, and I had no problem finding a parking spot in the lot across the street. Thank you to Andraino and his fantastic staff for making our meeting a memorable event. If you haven't been to Mr. Nino's III, do yourself a favor, stop by and give them a try. 05/05/2026

Very welcoming and the inside is equally clean. Everyone inside was great. They were talkative and friendly. We ordered via the phone and everything was ready when we got there. We got the usual Buffalo Chicken pie for the kid, my wife wanted the meat lovers and we got an order of zeppoles. The Buffalo Chicken pie was very "soupy". It was like a volcano of sauce erupted on the pie. It needs to be toned down by 2 notches in my opinion. Then there was no ranch or blue cheese. I've never had a Buffalo pie without swirls on or a side of either. With that said, the chicken was excellent quality. Extremely good and the sauce wasn't overpowering. Just way too much of it. The meat lovers, we ironically encountered the opposite. Very little sauce on it. It was to the point that my wife even asked me if there was any sauce on it at all. Again, ingredients were excellent, just assembled all wrong. The Zeppoles, there was no saving. Look at the picture. Not airy or fluffy at all. Thin, large, and weirdly shaped. The whole dozen were like this. Tough to bite and chew. Completely off of the mark. I loathe giving low scores. I went with 3 stars because the ingredients are great and on point. The technique and how they use the products they have are just off-kilter.
