The food is average. The service is really great. I love the self-serve salsa bar with chips that is a plus not seen at many restaurants anymore.

Ordered a few tacos and a veggie burrito online. We were wondering why it took so long for our food to arrive...now we know. The driver was that incompetent to just leave our food off at the mailbox and not drop it off on our front porch??? So at 9:00 pm we are absolutely starving and too exhausted to find anything to make...Not gonna order anything from them ever again.

Casual spot for Mexican food with both indoor/outdoor seating and a salsa bar! My friend and I were looking for a quick and filling dinner spot after spending the day nearby at Morro Bay, and La Parrilla was perfect! We came by Friday evening around 7 pm and it wasn't too crowded. They offer all the standard Mexican dishes, from burritos to tacos to tortas, etc. I got a shrimp burrito for $13.95, and my friend got a grilled chicken super burrito for $13.95. While we waited for our burritos, we helped ourselves to the complimentary chips and salsa from the salsa bar. We didn't have to wait long though, since our food came out pretty quickly. My burrito was super solid. I really appreciate that they packed it full of delicious buttery shrimp. My friend's burrito was okay... his grilled chicken was honestly pretty bland. I tried a couple bites and like my shrimp burrito more. Also, the tortillas they use here are MASSIVE. We saw them making them through the kitchen window, and they were some of the largest tortillas I've ever seen. Because of this, there was a lot of extra folded tortilla in my burrito. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good Mexican meal in Atascadero!

Not from the Atascadero area but today i was impressed and assisted with genuine service from Eva and Marcos. Delicious and fresh burrito that definitely did not disappoint. Wouldn't hesitate to come back especially with how home like of a feel it is in here

Gosh I love this place - one of my favorite authentic Mexican restaurants in North county. They also have a location in Arroyo Grande! We have been here quite a few times and it never disappoints. Their chips and salsa are amazing, especially the green salsa. The chips are self serve and are always warm and crispy. We usually order the Burria tacos which are to die for. Their quesadillas are also absolutely delicious. My husband just recently got the shrimp fajitas and loved them as well. Love this place and will continue to come back again and again for amazing Mexican food!

Honest Mexican food. You order the food at the counter and they will bring it to the table. The young guy at the counter was very personable. Since this is my first time here , he was patient enough to explain me the menu. He also adjusted a few things to accommodate my vegan diet. He also suggested a few things to make it a more gratifying meal. The salsa bar had many options. The freshly made salsas were very distinct in taste and flavorsome. Prices are moderate. I also saw that this place was full of people, which is why we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed This is exactly the hospitality you would expect in a little beach town. I had a great meal at La Parrilla in Arroyo Grande so when I noticed that another location is Atascadero I detoured to go for lunch. I was disappointed in the Atascadero location. I order the samething, mullita de barbacoa and it wasn't as good. The meat didn't taste fresh and the inside of the tortillas was soupy wet. The broth that came with the meal was the best thing I had. It had a nice flavor with fresh cilantro. As far as chips and salsa. There were just a few chips in the self serve (they needed to restock this and some other items in the salsa bar that were basically empty). I got medium red salsa. One bite and I threw out the salsa and chips. There was something wrong with the salsa. Had a terrible taste. I wish I noticed it also smelled off before tasting it. I have never had salsa that tasted so bad. The dining area was a bit dingy. I had planned to come here a few times over the next few days but after trying it I will not return to this location.

Came here several times, consistent and delicious. Friendly and fast service. Self serve chips and salsa bar. Today my wife and I split the Burrito Poly. It was delicious and quite sizable. Plenty of space inside and available seating outside as well. It's a reliable goto place for me.

Outstanding service! Super friendly! Good recommendations! (Their menu is substantial.) Hot, fresh, self-serve tortilla chips, to start. My Carnitas Burrito Bowl was sizable and had all the good stuff and plenty of it. Full meal size, for sure. The carnitas was tasty and moist, and not dried out. Plenty of indoor seating, clean, and plentiful parking in the shopping center lot. I'll be back, for sure! read more

We found this nice Mexican restaurant while passing through Atascadero. The restaurant is quite spacious, staff if super friendly and helpful, and food was delicious! We ordered the La Parrilla carne asada burrito, chips and salsa. The portion was large and very filling. They have a salsa bar, and chips are nice and hot. We are not from the area at all, and now I know what it means when people from California say there isn't good Mexican food in the US, except in California. Our meal here was fantastic. We were there at lunch, and the place was hopping. I picked it out online because it had a salsa bar. I ordered off the a la carte menu and got two cheese enchiladas with verde sauce. This was not just green salsa, it was their pork verde. It.was.amazing! I am embarrassed at how fast I ate it all. I forgot to take a picture even. Super cheesy, excellent tortillas and the verde; oh that verde.... My partner got the torta regular with al pastor. Also sublime! In addition, we got great chips and salsa, including the avocado/ green salsa that I am going to think about for a really long time. The staff here was especially nice, super helpful and friendly. Service was quick- order at the counter and they bring it to your table. I would not hesitate for one second to return here on my next trip through Atascadero. It could not be an easier stop off 101. La Parilla is one of our 2 favorite Mexican places in A-Town, with the other being Suprema. La Parilla stands out for its unique menu items / recipes, high quality ingredients, and preparation. The Carne en Su Jugo soup is out of this world delicious! This seems weird to say, but their rice is amazing, with a delicious topping that I've never seen at any other Mexican place. I usually get the fajitas, which is a very generous portion (2 meals including leftovers). Take a look at their Mojarra Frita! The wife had it once and really enjoyed it. We really should try this place more often, and their specialidades. This place always has seating available and futbol on TV. Plus beer! We highly recommend La Parilla read more

Fantastic food, great and friendly service. Ordered the Al pastor chimichanga and the Al pastor tacos and they did not disappoint. Would definitely come again when we are back in the area. Last minute decision to stop by for lunch on a roadtrip home. The Yelp reviews did not steer us wrong. Everything was delicious. We also ended up ordering too much, but we took home the excess for lunch the next day. We had a birria "pizza" (turned out it was more like an extra large quesadilla) but it was delicious, lots of tender tasty meat and cheese and consume to dip in. Also got the supreme nachos, so good. This fed 5 of us! So the burrito got packed up for later (and yes it was good the next day)! They had some outdoor tables and plenty of space inside. Clean restrooms, welcoming staff. This location was pretty easy to find right off the freeway as well. read more

We were passing through Atascadero on our way to our wedding venue and stumbled on this place for lunch. IT WAS SO GOOD. I cancelled my wedding rehearsal dinner and called up La Parrilla day of to see if they would cater something similar (build your own taco kind of trays) they said ABSOLUTELY. Ambiance. Not good. Feels like no one cares here. It's hot. No AC. Actually hot air was blowing into restaurant. Counter service, which I'm not a fan of. Waiting for food took too long There's a women's room but no men's. ? Beans and rice were bland. I ordered a fish and shrimp taco. Why are they using the mini taco shells. 3 tiny tacos. This wasn't disclosed. We also ordered a chicken taco plate with beans and rice, a carne asada wet burrito that my son liked, and a chicken burrito to go that was bland. Salsa bar. Why 3 mild and one hit that didn't look appetizing. The mild were good but all tasted the same and need a medium option. I will not be back. Not a good experience and on a 109 degree day we don't want to dine in a hot stuffy room. read more

Food and service is pretty darn good. I had the carne asada plate with the ceviche. The price was excellent, and the carne asada met expectations. The ceviche was excellent. It was covered in chamoya sauce, which apparently I've never had. It looks like it would be way overwhelmingly flavorful, but it was actually the perfect combination of shrimp and sauce. They came around with some samples ofi flan, and I was immediately sold. It was darn tasty. There's convenient parking and the seating inside the restaurant is well spaced. This is one of those places that I would definitely come back to. read more

So in all fairness, I can't review this place too much. They had a very extensive menu with burritos, taquitos, tacos, etc. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered two soft tacos with Carnitas. The service was fine. They took my order right away and it was ready pretty quick as I took it to go. I guess I should've gotten some of their salsa which they had plenty to choose from. I definitely will go back and review it probably a little differently if I eat there. The place was well lit, and had lots of tables, although I love booths. read more

They have very good tacos as well as a good salsa bar. The staff are always very nice. The water however smells a bit strange so we generally will bring our own drink or buy a sealed drink. Friends of mine have been here and also say the water smells weird. read more

The food was really good and the service extremely friendly. We spent a night in Atascadero on the way up Hwy 101 and so glad we ate here. My wife got a bowl with tilapia and I got a quesadilla filled with BBQ beef. The salsas were good as well as the chili/carrot/vegetable mixture. And they gave us a really tasty flan dessert to take back to the hotel. read more

The food here is always amazing, the staff are super friendly, and the dining area is clean. My son loves this place, especially their California Burrito, which has fries in it as the starch. We hunkered down cowboy style and enjoyed our meal, talking about about outer space and the moon trip while enjoying our food in the cozy ambience of an evocative historic setting!

If you've been living under a rock your whole life let me tell you a secret. Quesabirria tacos are the hottest thing in the foodie scene ! This restaurant markets them as barbacoa tacos . It comes with a side of hot meat juice (consome) to dip them in. Get the 3 tacos, swear you can't finish them. Also this place has a very tasty ceviche tostada . I'm so glad there's finally a good burrito restaurant in Atascadero. The chip and salsa bar is so good. The Pic de gallo and all the other salsas. It goes so well with the food. The burrito is wrapped up nice and tight, not like other places where it falls apart. You can actually run a marathon with there burritos and it won't fall apart. This place is off the hook. About time Atascadero has a good authentic mexican food joint. My son had the chicken burrito bowl and i had the carne asada quesadilla and boy does it put other local joints to shame. They were very very delicious the staff was very friendly well.
