Food and pastries are good. I had the campechano soup this time and it was bit watery and lacking flavor, so I would recommend the lentil soup instead. We also had mimosas and the service here was fantastic. They gave us glasses with blueberries and cut up strawberries to drink the mimosas.

I really really love this bakery. They have very good unique pastries, solid food and decent coffee. My only complaint is about the service. The first time I came, we were so overwhelmed but knew we wanted to get a good batch to try. The lady took two of our orders and then started taking other people's orders so it felt like we were being pushed forward without fully ordering. It's weird because it's set up like chipotle but if the employee didn't follow you to end section and stopped at the meats. A little awkward but oh well we saved money I guess. The next time we went, we told them everything we wanted up front, however they "wrap" the pastries in a square plastic that is just twisted in the corners. Not secure at all and a pastry FELL on the floor which was so tragic. The conchas are phenomenal. They have such a unique texture that is so addicting. All the flavors taste pretty similar to me. The chocolate croissant is solid and the jalapeño sausage is very very good. The vanilla latte was impressed and well balanced but we got a speciality that was similar to the finals latte with the extra foam was wayy too sweet. The torta was well balanced and the sauce was a good touch. This place does get very busy but the line moves fast, good wifi if you wanted to study or do work but during prime time it might not be ideal.

My one piece of advice, go early! Even though we got here at 9 the line went all the way to the door. So many pastries to choose from all look fresh and delicious! I finally settled on the Banderilla (cuz I've never had one before and it looked amazing) I got a matcha latte to go with it and it paired beautifully. The hubs got Chorizo and egg torta with a telera bread with an Americano. My daughter got the French toast classic with cinnamon bread. It comes with fresh berries atop and whipped cream. All in all everything was so delicious it made me sad to leave San Antonio knowing it will be a while before we return. We already agreed the next time we are in town, we are bee lining it here

My husband and I have wanted to try La Panaderia Bakery for quite some time. We've heard everything is delicious and calorically dangerous. We finally came after banking some calories with a long run. OMG, everything looked so yummy. We wanted to order one of everything but we didn't run enough miles for that. LOL Even though we go there after 2 pm, the number of customers speak for itself. It is a beloved bakery. We decided on breakfast first. My husband ordered the Sunny Side Up and I ordered the French Toast with the addition of scrambled eggs and bacon. Then, we ordered a couple of berry croissants and butter cookies to go. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be coming back but our metabolism aren't what it use to be. Since the hips don't lie, we may have to wait until after the New Year to return.

La Panaderia Bakery Cafe is one of my favorite dining locations in San Antonio, TX. We ordered a Build Your own Torta (sandwich). I split the sandwich with a colleague, which came with a side. We chose the turkey torta with cilantro mayo, chipotle mustard, turkey, smoked gouda and tomatoes along with lentil soup. The sandwich was huge so I ate only one half. The bread was Kumut, an ancient grain and quite filling. While this is primarily a bakery, we opted out of sweets today. Ok...ok...yes I had that lemon blueberry muffin this morning. Even more reason not to have another sweet injection. It is important to note that prices at La Panaderia have been increasing each year as are other restaurants in the San Antonio area. If you share the sandwich with another person, it is more economical. Service was fast and friendly as always. The restaurant was about have full with customers who seemed to be engrossed in their own conversations. Overall, a relaxed environment....

In a word: divine. La Panadería Bakery Café quickly became one of our favorite dining experiences anywhere, ever. As we entered, we were a bit overwhelmed. We'd just hopped off an early morning flight from Milwaukee. We were completely un-caffeinated and hangry. A quick search on Yelp showed this place was relatively close to the airport. We arrived. The parking lot was full and the line serpentined all the way to the door. My first thought: This place must be amazing. Followed quickly by: What is happening? Do we order everything in this line or just pastries? Where is the menu? Again--what's happening?! I blame our bleary eyed post flight hangry un-caffeinated state. There was a basket of menus--we grabbed two. I asked the gentleman in front of us if he'd been there before. "Yes! It's excellent," came his reply. I then inquired as to the flow of things. He explained that once we get to the pastry case, we can order any breads we'd like and then once we got to the cash register, we could order coffee and anything off the menu and they'd bring those items out to us (the pastry items you get straight away). So, that's what we did. For our pastries we got a nutella cruffin and a peineta. Both were excellent. The nutella cruffin was completely out of this world. For my coffee, I got the cafe bombon, which was solid. And, for my main, I got the vegetariano with scrambled eggs added. It comes on an incredibly large laminated pastry (croissant? Just super big and round?) and was the perfect blend of flavors. Initially, I noticed pickles on it and thought--oh--I don't like pickles on my breakfast sandwich. Or mustard. But, you know what? It all worked together in a perfect symphony of flavors. I wouldn't change a thing. What a way to start our first trip to San Antonio (and Texas!). Did we fly to heaven taste buds first? I think maybe we did. Get to it!

Yes, yes yes! This place is amazing. There is lots of parking but it does get busy so it might be hard on the busy peak hours, but they do have their own private parking which is awesome. It's a fairly large building. It has a seating area and if you're ever in the California it kind of gives Porto vibes . They have delicious pastries like pan dulce. But I did get the concha and the pan de Muerto and I had the steak and eggs. The steak and eggs were perfectly done perfectly cooked. They came with a side of a soup, and I got the mixture one that had Sopa de Fideo and black beans. I am normally not a fan of black beans, but the mixture of the soup was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly like I mentioned and so were the eggs the pico that it came with was also good. The cappuccino was absolutely amazing. The coffee beans that they use were smooth and flavorful a really good cup of cappuccino. For being as busy as it was, the line goes fairly quickly. There was still seating available for me to go in and enjoy my food. If you are in the San Antonio area definitely come and try this place out for breakfast brunch lunch or if you just want a sweet dessert The staff was all super friendly and the dining area was very clean. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town.

AMAZING BAKERY i've had conchas in the past but i wasn't a huge fan, this place however, changed my mind! the velvet concha was buttery and airy filled with a nutella chocolate filling. every bite pulled me back in for more! can't wait to try other things! the strawberry matcha tres leches drink was phenomenal. great matcha flavor, was really sweet but expected.

Wow wow one of each please !! This place is awesome. They had some amazing Pan choices and sweets. Service was awesome, the biggest issues I had was having to pick one or two items!! the place was very welcoming and chill Faves for today : Plain concha ufffff , they also have a filled one that looked yummy Torta Pepito : beef /yummy mayo mix and fixings wow Sopita de fideos on point

The Mexican bakery was delightful. Tuesday morning and it wasn't crowded, but parking was hard due to small lot and it being full. Walking in, there are menus to grab and read or the menus posted above the line. The servers are quick to grab your pastry before you head over to the cashier to place your drink/food order. We got the nutella cruffin which was a delightful pastry. Good crunch with a nice whipped topping and nutella filling. The vanilla concha was also amazing. The frosting was thin and crunchy which complimented the airy soft breading. Not the typical pan dulce you see, which are soft frosting and dense breading; a nice switch! The cuban was very good, meat and pickles and sauce all went nicely together. I got the telera bread which was a good choice in my opinion. The hot chocolates were huge!! Very yummy but a tad too sweet. If too sweet is not for you, maybe see if some extra milk or base they use would be a good option. This has to be a slow sip drink because of that. Flavors inside the base were a nice choice as well.

Do you all have Gluten Free options?

I do not believe they are gluten friendly, but don't quote me on that

How do I order the Christmas panettone?

Just give them a call in advance to make sure they have it available when you come in.

Can you order any of the egg tortas as breakfast?

Hola! Yes, we do have Breakfast available all day long and eggs they are available all day. Thanks

Do they have Day of the Dead bread?

Yes they do, they have a small piece. And a big piece I believe is 22 dlls that you can pre order for day of dead

Is there any Gluten-Free and dairy free options?

I doubt it sincerely, but they do have online menus that you can check. They pride themselves on their decadent bread and pastries, which kind of goes against the gluten-free thing.

    Are they pet friendly?

I do not think so - both locations are indoors and they do prepare food close to the eating areas so I do not think they allow animals

If anyone is familiar with El Gallo in East L.A.,how does La Panaderia compare? Please no go back to California, post, either some sincere replies or ignore.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with El Gallo, but as a new fan of La Panaderia I encourage you to try it out. They do not disappoint. 😊

What is the price range of the pan dulce? Is it more than Mi Tierra?

I believe they are more expensive, but it's a better quality product, as well. They are using the best quality ingredients which result in a superior product. It will cost a bit more, but it was worth it in our opinion. My caution to you is to be… Read more

Another great meal! Our server Brahim provided the perfect service: attentive, thoughtful, kind…read more Really enhanced our meal. For a starter we shared the cornbread with another couple and it was plenty for 4 people. If you are from out of town and looking for some Texas-shaped vittles or just want something substantial to stretch your meal I recommend it! Very tasty and filling. For my main I had the scallops with creamed corn risotto. It was a dainty portion but the flavors were nice. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle which he loved. It was very rich and filling. We had the buttermilk pie again for dessert and this time it tasted sweeter than I remembered. It was good but we couldn't finish it. Idk if it was my tastebuds or if it was different. Anyways still a great meal overall and we will be back!

We arrived in San Antonio after an 11+ hour road trip from New Orleans. By 7 pm hubs wanted dinner…read moreas soon as we checked into our hotel. Checked Yelp for dinner suggestions so Doc drove us to the paid lot next to where all the Cinderella lit up carriages drawn by horses were lined up. It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.
