scallops tagliatelle
Michelle T.

Came here to celebrate a family member's birthday. Nice interior area, we were seated in a separate room for parties of 3 that was a bit more quiet and private than the main bar/dining area. Service was helpful and kind. We asked for pasta recommendations, and our server recommended the tagliotelle. The food was delicious! The scallop sauce had unique citrusy flavors, the seared halibut had a yummy squash sauce, and the pasta had scrumptious balsamic flavoring. Great job with the presentation of the food as well. The cannolis were complimentary. Sticky sweet crust with a slight tangy custard filling. Cocktail drinks were also great. Thanks!

The chocolate cake is sublime!!

Absolutely AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! Cool and dramatic vibe, polished and attentive but not overbearing service, and interesting and delicious food!! From the first to the last, everything was perfect! Shout out to Nancy I

"SG" as he told us to call him was our phenomenal waiter!! He made us laugh, he was attentive, he gave suggestions and everything was quick! Service was some of the absolute best I have ever had! The food was coursed amazingly and we were never waiting for the next course! was timed perfectly!!! The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! We ordered the rabbit ragu, tuna crudo, summer Tuscan flatbread, focaccia and of course the famous tagliatelle Emilia!! Everything was truly phenomenal but the absolute must gets are the margarita, the Tuscan flatbread and the tuna crudo! By far the tuna Crudo was one of the best bites I have ever had in my life I could have eaten two full plates alone! Very sad to have to share hahaha This is a gorgeous restaurant with lovely upscale vibes! Perfect for business dinner which is why we were there or a special occasion! I can see why it's Michelin guide recommended, personally I think they deserve a star! Amazing dining experience from start to finish!

We were able to secure a seat at the bar as a walk-in. The bar ambience was dark and moody. We didn't make it up to the main floor restaurant to really see what it was about, but I certainly enjoyed the vibe at the bar. The cocktails were great in the wine list was expensive. Both of our pasta dishes were excellent, but really the best thing that we ate was a bread that was non leavened with cheese in between the layers - wish i could remember the name!

I had dinner at La Padrona when I was in Boston last week and wow - easily one of the best meals I've had this year. I had read about La Padrona in the New York Times and then - kismet - I realized the restaurant was around the block from my hotel. I had to go! The restaurant is beautiful - really elegant but not fussy (people were still dressed comfortably, not formally). I sat the bar, which is one of the more elegant bars I've sat at recently - an oval in the center of the dining room. I started with one of their martinis (a whole page of their bar menu is martinis) - the Salty Truffle (black truffle-infused Belvedere vodka, olive brine, ricotta-parmigiana, and black truffle-stuffed olives). It was a treat - a great start to the meal. I had a glass of wine that the bartender recommended with my two courses after my martini - very good. Then I had their Charred Arrowhead Cabbage (with anchovy butter, orange, and sage). It was one of the best vegetable dishes I've had in ages. The cabbage was charred on the outside but tender on the inside (harder to do than it sounds, because I've had a lot of cabbage dishes where the cabbage is still raw inside), and the flavor was incredible. Have I ever had anchovy and orange with cabbage? Nope. Was it delicious and entirely memorable? Absolutely. Then I had a pasta course - their Rabbit Ragu Fazzoletti (milk-braised rabbit, roasted sunchokes, and fennel). Another absolute knockout. The flavor of this dish surprised and 100% delighted me. I might have closed my eyes during my first few bites. Should I have had dessert? Probably not. Did I? When a meal is this good, don't you have to? I had their vanilla gelato, which is served with olive oil croutons, 12-year Balsamic vinegar, and Maldon salt. I wish it had had a bit more of the balsamic vinegar, but the dish was delicious: sweet, savory, cream - all the best things in a dessert. A great way to end the meal. The service was good. The restaurant was beautiful. But the food and drinks really knocked my socks off. It will easily go down as one of my best meals of 2025. I'd love to return.

The ambience was very elegant and the service was good but the food wasn't what we were expecting and not worth what we paid. Presentation was great but the flavor wasn't there. I wouldn't go back here for food but for drinks yes!

The service was impeccable. There was always someone to halp us whenever we had a question. I had the lobster risotto and eggplant as a starter. It was a layer of eggplant cover with tomato's and seasoning. It was delicious. Located in the Raffles hotel, it was on the second floor. It was dimly lit with soft music in the background. I would return in a heart beat.

Came here with a large group so was able to try a little bit of everything. My favorite dishes were the scallops, risotto, and steak. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion. So yum!

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I Went with a group for a friend's birthday and really enjoyed my time there. The dishes were really tasty, fresh. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food. I am a huge Italian cuisine lover end can be a bit critical. But I honestly have nothing bad to say about the food. The cocktails were also nice. Our server was really friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items to make some great recommendations and/or answers questions. Ambiance is elegant and intimate. Price is to be expected, not cheap. I also like that you can experience their downstairs lounge for drinks or bites.

I really enjoyed La padrona! I did one visit to the upstairs part and one visit to the downstairs part. The upstairs part is mainly reserved seating including the beautiful bar seen in most pictures of this place. Upstairs I got the pornstar martini and it was expensive but amazing. I went to the downstairs part around 9pm and was very impressed by the atmosphere they created for the walk-in area. It's half bar and half lounge. I loved the cocktail lounge vibe! I got some desserts that were delicious - I'd recommend the chocolate cake over the tiramisu if you're going to pick one. Another note is that they may run out of Passionfruit for the pornstar martini late at night. Sadly no price adjustment for this. Overall I really loved La padrona and I especially liked that they had matchboxes at the host stand since I'm a collector!

We were celebrating a belated birthday, and what a meal! The cacio e pepe focaccia and the sheep's milk ricotta were more than enough for the three of us to share with our cocktails ("Salty Truffle"made with black truffle infused vodka, and an Old Fashioned). Staff was great in walking us through some of the Spring menu selections that debuted that evening. We decided on the Spring Sorprisene pasta with basil and snap peas for the vegetarian diner, while two of us shared the roasted rack of lamb and the swordfish fra diavolo. The asparagus stalks were large, and cooked properly (not soggy). The portions were very good sized, and we had them pack 4 untouched lamb chops and the leftover fra diavolo sauce with lobster for us to take home. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and the pavlova with fruit, both of which were excellent. The dining room is on the second floor of the Raffles Hotel, and very attractive. Since it was a Saturday night, the scene was lively. We had a really good time celebrating a birthday, and will definitely return again (just make sure to reserve in advance, as the restaurant is much in demand).

That worked out great, we had almost no wait. The place was full. There were alot of people enjoying the food menu, which we didn't plan on since we had dinner reservations elsewhere for later. First, let's talk AMBIANCE! The space is BEAUTIFUL! Think speakeasy vibes, intimate atmosphere, and plenty of spots to capture some gorgeous pictures. It's giving moody, stylish, and picture worthy! BUT, selfie queens and kings, let me put you on game! It is DARK in there, so if you want those food pics and selfies to come out just right, bring a portable flash. You want to capture the experience without your pictures looking like they were taken during a blackout! LOL. The ambiance is definitely part of the experience, so come ready to enjoy the vibe and get those pictures! Now, let's get into this FOOD! The five cheese mac au gratin was AMAZING! The cheesy goodness was everything I wanted it to be. Five cheeses? YES, PLEASE! This dish was a standout and absolutely worth talking about. Now, the snapper? BABYYYY! Flavorful does not even begin to describe it. That gravy was so good I was practically SLURPING IT LIKE SOUP! When the sauce is that delicious, you do not waste a drop. The snapper and that gravy were a beautiful combination, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The Djon Djon was not my personal favorite, but hubby enjoyed it, and that counts for something! We do not have to agree on every dish to appreciate a great dining experience. My taste buds had their preferences, and his had his! Overall, this was STILL a FIVE STAR MEAL AND EXPERIENCE! Between the beautiful ambiance, the delicious food, and the opportunity to experience what this chef is creating, it was a memorable visit. I genuinely cannot wait to see where this chef lands next! I love discovering talented chefs, supporting their craft, and watching their culinary journeys unfold. Black Cat Eatery, you have my attention, and I will absolutely be watching for what comes next! The cocktails are the highlight. They're high end and unique, the kind of drinks you won't find at your average Boston spot, and the quality was solid across the board. If you're here for the drinks, you won't be disappointed. The menu is small. We had a couple of items and they were good, and good quality. That said, this is a cocktail-centered experience. The service was fine, though a bit brusque. Nothing rude, just not particularly warm either. That's a bit odd because the entire atmosphere is centered around the production at the bar. The strangest part of our visit was the bartenders' banter. While we were sitting there, they were complaining about a coworker who had apparently shown up to work after being fired. It was an odd thing to air out in front of customers, and it made the vibe feel a little awkward. Overall, great drinks, nice decor but so-so atmosphere. I'd come back for a cocktail, but I wouldn't count on a chatty, welcoming bar experience. Still - sometimes that's what you wan.
