Longer update now: I have been coming to La Mériel now for over a year. First of all, all the technicians I have encountered are friendly and nice. The atmosphere is clean and fresh - I love the lighting accent wall they have. I get SNS nails because I am so hard on my hands - from playing with kids to lots of cleaning, etc. At first I tried any technician available, but for some reason every single time my nails lifted and broke or chipped or something. I would go back in and get it fixed for free. However, when I see Jade they stay. She does my nails a little bit thicker, so maybe that is it. Most people like their SNS thinner so maybe that is it. Once you get to know the sisters - owners - they greet you every time you come in. Definitely recommend. read more

They have a beautiful store front and huge CLEAN space. The prices are VERYYYY reasonable and the staff is extremely kind and welcoming. I got a French gel set on my feet without a pedicure wash and it was only $30, they did not even charge to fix my chipped big toe with acrylic. I absolutely do not recommend this business!!!! I visited this business about a month ago for an SNS job. At first, I thought I was satisfied, but after just three days the back of my nails started lifting and the only nail with a tip broke in half. I went back, and a very nice lady (I believe her name was Kim) fixed my nails, and I appreciated her professionalism. Because of that, I decided to give the salon another chance. Unfortunately, this time my experience was much worse. From the beginning, the technician (who I believe is the owner) came across as harsh. I wanted to leave but didn't want to be rude, so I stayed. I specifically asked for my nails to be cut shorter and look natural. Instead, I left with nails that were too thin and still too long. By the second day, one of them broke painfully below the skin. I've been doing my nails for years, and while accidents can happen, I've never been treated with such rudeness when asking to fix a mistake. The remarks I received--blaming me for something as simple as opening my bag zipper--were unprofessional and unacceptable. I will not be returning to this salon, and I recommend others protect their money and choose a business that values both quality work and respectful customer service. My second visit for gel manicure. Don't know the name of the tech. A bit aggressive and rough on triming cuticles all the while telling me she is" very picky". My first gel manicure lasted less than two weeks before chipping. I thought the gel polish may have been old polish. Just returned within the past week to give the salon another chance and this gel polish chipped and peeled in 2 days. Will not be going back for manicures and perhaps the owner needs to have the tech ease up on the aggressive cuticle trim. read more

I decided to give this place a try since it was right down the street from my house and even made an appointment. Don't believe the hype. I was very frustrated with my experience at La Meriel. The salon was beautiful and I so wanted to love it, but my experience was very subpar, and the customer service was very lacking. I loved my pedicure by Anne, which is why I gave this place 2 stars, but Fi was a very poor nail tech and should not have a nail station. Prior to starting my nails, I showed Fi my nail shape and proposed design and asked if she could do it. I told her it's okay if she couldn't, but she insisted that she could. Midway through I flagged that the shape was not what I asked for. The salon manager did come fix it, but wouldn't correct the unevenness and missed area from my SnS dip. Also, I asked someone else to do the design and they said everyone was busy when the design probably would have took two minutes. Clearly they didn't care about me as a customer even though I spent $130. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks, so clearly they aren't interested in repeat business. It was the worst nail service I've had in a very long time. This salon doesn't guarantee their work and isn't concerned about quality. I may come see Ann for a pedicure but I recommend skipping this place unless you're getting basic service. I added pics. I came as a walk-in when a nearby salon had fumes so bad that it gave me a headache. Thankfully, that's not a problem here! They were able to fit me in after a short wait, and I had a great pedicure. Super hygienic- gloves, lined tubes- well priced, tons of polish colors, and my nails look beautiful. Everything was really gentle which we know is not always the case at a salon! Me and my moms first time coming over. It was a great experience. We were in and out, they were so fast. Ami was worried that it was going to be rushed and not right, but they're great! They're so fast cause they know what they're doing. I'm a complicated and nit picky person, but she did everything I asked and the prices arent bad at all. Lovely place as long as you have an appointment with one of the sisters who owns the salon. If you make an appointment with one of the sisters and they switch you with no explanation...stand your ground and get the appointment with who you made the appointment with to begin with.
