Love this nail salon. It's always clean and not super busy. They always do such a great job!

I was hoping they would become my new salon. Having been there three times and two of those I was disappointed. I got French tips Put on, they put them on so close to the end of nail that within a couple days they looked out grown. I was charged full price even though I brought in my own tips. When I returned to get SNS they were not only cut too short, then filed crooked, then I had to ask the girl to polish the entire nail not just half. Then I was charged $10 more than I would pay anywhere else. I will not be returning. Guess I am still looking for a new nail salon. Oh and during the week they have min staff so if the girl that does what you are there for is busy the wait could take awhile. Not my vibe, I have limited time when I'm able to pop in. read more

I will never go to another salon so long as I live in the area. Their SNS and gel stays on for a month and STILL looks amazing. Their staff is so friendly and caring. It's clean, the music is relaxing, they take their time massaging. I love coming here. read more

I have been going to this salon for several years. The bad ratings that are before 2021-2022 are from a different ownership. This was place was bought and has been transformed into the most beautiful salon with the nicest people and they do an amazing job. I would highly recommend them. read more

I absolutely love my nails. These are easily the best set I've had so far. The shop has just change management and they're working on remodeling the shop when I came in so everything is a bit out of place. The people are lovely and helpful. If I could give zero stars I would. I got married in these nails. The picture I gave her was something I found on Pinterest a natural short ombré nail. I looked like my 3 year old had painted pink and white blocks on my nails until I asked for a change of just solid white nails - threw an attitude when I kindly asked for them changed to solid white since ombre wasn't her speciality & noticed some nails were crooked. Cut my thumb with the nail drill. Got a mediocre pedicure paid over priced $75 for this & my pedicure. Won't be returning! read more

The worst manicure I have ever gotten! I visit this salon infrequently because they rarely do a good job but it is very convenient. The daughter of the owner does an excellent job if you can get her. I walked in to a get a regular manicure, clear polish. I waited for 30 min. I did not have an appointment and they did apologize for making me wait. When I saw the owner walk over I knew what to expect. When she has done my nails, she has done them quickly and poorly! She didn't disappoint. My entire manicure was 6 minutes start to finish. My cuticles needed work. She trimmed my cuticles barely touching them, just going through the motions. One coat of clear polish, $15 later and she was finished. *see photo read more

For starters, I gave them THREE TRIES. I went in for SNS , about a week later my nails chipped and I went in to get them fixed because they had never chipped so quickly. Tom did my nails and I told him my issue and he was pretty nice (at first) and then this other lady was like rushing me to pay and she wanted me to pay full price at first and try to act like I didn't just pay for these a week ago, and then told me 50% and added a whole bunch of fees. Whatever... I paid it and always left a good tip. That redo lasted a long time I was satisfied. I come back in to get a new set about three weeks later and I tell Tom that I really liked how they were last time but they just grew out because they didn't start at the tip and you could already see my nails on the redo... ok he continues to do my nails and I let him know (SUPER NICELY) please make sure they cover my whole nail because I don't want them to look like I have had them for a week on the first day(he says ok and doesn't fix it) then he asks me if it's ok before he does final coat etc and I said well can we please make sure my nail isn't showing and he YELLS AT ME "WE CANT DO YOUR NAILS IF YOUR PICKY, NO NAIL TECHNICIAN CAN DO YOUR NAILS IF YOUR PICKY" I kept quiet and just took it although I've never been anything but sweet to them. Then he upcharged me and I asked why and he said it was an accident so I said it's fine just keep it as a tip. AGAIN, even through all the rudeness I was always kind and left a tip. Well here I am 5 days later... after giving them so many tries.. my nails are all cracking. This is so sad. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR NAILS!! Wanted to love this place, because it's so convenient to go here But it's definitely a NO for me! In total, I've been to this salon about 3 times. Once with my boyfriend for a gel mani, and gel pedi and twice by myself. On my first visit, the manicure was done nicely by the older gentleman. The daughter was very friendly, made conversation and made us feel welcomed to the salon. I was a little bit upset, because I requested the gel pedicure, and she started using regular nail polish. I let her know, and the owner came over and said they dont have time to do gel. I said OK, I would have loved to know this ahead of time, because I would've opted for just a gel pedicure, instead of the gel mani. No biggie.. On my visit, I got there 2 hours before they closed ( according to the time on their door). I got a spa pedicure, which felt amazing.. I didnt catch the lady's name but she rubbed my feet so good. Quickly after the polish, most likely 5 minutes later, the owner (much shorter lady) came out. I was hoping she was going bring a fan out because their drying machines were not working.. Someone was there fixing it. But nope, she put on my shoes and they all began to put on their coats. I was so confused, because I still had an hour left before they closed. I was wearing open-toe gucci sandals, and ofcourse my toes smudged. I was so upset, i got home and called them but no answer. I call the next day and there was no remorse, no sorry.. no nothing. Just come in and *click*. I hate to feel rushed, this is a spa at the end of the day.. We come here to relax and feel beautiful. I felt like my business did not matter. read more

I asked them to take off a gel manicure I had gotten out of town. While filing off the gel polish, she kept filing my nail beds until I pulled my hand away. They are still bruised and damaged. If I had my receipt and could prove I had been there, I could easily consider legal action. read more

I have been debating whether I should write a review for Nail Express. My relationship with this salon goes way back to high school. I always got my nails done here for prom and would go on a semi-frequent basis with friends for manicures and pedicures. I have seen this place go through renovations and staff changes. I always remember the staff being friendly and the salon being clean and professional. I hadn't been to Nail Express in a few years and I decided to drop by when I was in the area - I was in desperate need of a pedicure. The place has undergone another cosmetic transformation and this time it's for the worse. The Spa chairs are separated from the rest of the salon by a small wall which I really didn't like. I like to be able to see the whole salon. The wall seems silly and makes the salon look and feel smaller than it is. The paint choice on the walls is pretty horrendous and I could do without the mirrors across the entire length of the place. The way it is set up the entire space feels cramped with too many stations, over-sized spa chairs and the unnecessary wall in the middle. Now that the superficial stuff is out of the way lets get to more important things... The salon just did not strike me as clean. In fact, I was quite disgusted by the water on the floor (leaking from the spa pedicure chairs) and the dead bug next to my spa chair. It really grossed me out and I thought about walking out but I decided to just tough up and deal with it. They did pull the metal supplies out of an autoclave so I am assuming they were sanitary (I sure hope so) and they used a new buffer/file on my nails. But still, I just couldn't get over how dirty the floor was. I am hoping this is not standard operating condition for Nail Express but just the result of a very busy Saturday - I did go toward the end of the day. Overall the quality of my pedicure is fine. Not the best I have ever had but about average. It met my expectations in the quality department. The price was right - significantly cheaper than the nail salon I typically go to. The staff is still very nice - they always remember me by name and always ask how my mother is doing (she goes here on occasion too). I would be hesitant to recommend Nail Express based on my last experience but I may try them again in the future for a review update. read more

My friend and I came here and we will never come back. We walked in at our appointment time and told them we wanted sns and the lady had an attitude the whole time ever since that moment. They weren't very professional and just did my nails very lazily and tried to get me to do something other than I asked for so she didn't have to do sns. She was very rude to me while I was nice the whole time and didn't say anything rude to her. During my nails she gave me the basket with the colors and she kept rudely moving the basket back and forth so she can switch hands to continue to do my nails, then she shoved the basket in my lap without a word. Which is very rude. All my nails were crooked (luckily we came back with a mom to get the shape fixed at least) and she kept adding more money Everytime I told her what I wanted. They still aren't shaped correctly after the fix. I asked for coffin shape and she got mad and charged me for coffin even though she made them square. You can see through my nails and see all the spots that are very sheer and the whole process of what she did was very unclean and unprofessional. She dipped my nail into the same container of the color powder after putting the stuff on for it to stick. Keep in mind a cut on my finger was bleeding still. Very gross. Instead of doing the beads like you're supposed to do. She also used the same paper towel to wipe my nails the whole time and she cut my fingers. My friends nails didn't dry and got all messed up and all the powder was left all on her nails too. I wish we just got a refund of our money instead of them attempting to fix it!!!! Literally the ugliest and most unpleasant gel manicure I've ever gotten. It took 15 minutes. There was no "manicure." The woman tossed my hands around to indicate she needed the next finger. She did no shaping. No moisturizing. She filed on my nails with an electric filer and then put the polish on. That was it! And the finished product looks like crap. Polish over my cuticles, blotchy edge on the nail bed, and my cuticles are wrecked from being filed and never cleaned up! THE WORST! I will never be back! read more

Nail Express was AWFUL! I use to go there frequently and get pedicures about 3 years back. Due to medical reasons and my immune system being low I could not get pedicures for a long time... Well it was my birthday and I was so excited to get a manicure and pedicure. And I remember them doing a great job... Well not anymore they rushed me in and out like it was a fast food restaurant. My nail polish started to come off the next day and my Pedicure was absolutely AWFUL!!! They never gave me the remote for the chair and they barely even brushed my heels never mind use and of the other tools. I had to ask her twice to use the razor on my heels. I give myself a better pedicure in the shower everyday and that's a sad thing to say about a nail salon!!! Oh and she cut me, which is a nightmare for someone with a low immune system!!! Also they cut my nails too short on the sides. Nightmare, I hope I do not get ingrown toenails from this, they have been red on the corners all week! Definitely in search of a new salon. Good place. This isn't a Parisian day spa, but was decently clean and worth the price. The nail technicians were friendly and not overly chatty (I prefer to read my book in peace). I didn't get a gel manicure (which seems to be where the complaints are coming from), but had a pedicure and my daughters had regular manicures. Everything turned out well. read more

I have been to this nail salon twice before. It was just ok. And i say just ok, because of the cleanliness,  atmosphere and service. I am a master cosmetologist.  I know what proper procedure is in a salon. I asked for a manicure with gel polish. The older lady soaked my hands in straight acetone and used the Dremel to remove the old gel polish. Absolute improper way to remove gel polish and have any life left in the nail bed. She then applied the gel polish layers.  No manicure. The gel was up on my cuticle and clumped in areas where the polish was applied too thick. I am NOT high maintenance. I rarely treat myself. I pointed out the issues and she said "it will roll" meaning the Polish would peel up off my cuticle. (And off my nail as well). No mani, no hand massage, literally dusted off my hands with a used paper towel. ....I stupidly paid the $20 and walked out side. In the sunlight it looked hideous. I went back in and demanded my money back. Reluctantly she gave it too me. I will not be back. read more

Literally the worst possible service I've ever encountered at a nail shop. I walk in asking for a refill, they send me to regular nail polish. Puzzled, i ask if this is available in a powder form. The daughter of the owner then asked what i had currently, (i had shellac over powder because i needed a specific color for a wedding) she then tells me in a very condesending tone that "ha shellac is a brand" Lady, you knew what i meant. I tell her i dont want that, i want a refill. She says pick a nail polish color and says the owner will be doing my nails. Now when you hear the owner you think the best in the salon, right? Wrong. She asked me how much of my nail i wanted to cut off, i said only the new growth. She snaps a piece of my pinky nail off and i say ok. She then proceeds to clip the rest of my nails while looking around the room, (paying more attention to the conversation her daughter is having with a customer about not working there anymore in the next couple of months) which caused them to be completely uneven and crooked. I let her know i wanted a coffin shape, she says "i cant do that with short nails" i say "i didnt ask for short nails. My nails were supposed to be the same length as my pinky nail and now thats the longest one". Frustrated, she says "ill worry about the shape later" she keeps filing them down to different lengths and when i point it out she finally gets up, walks away, and has someone else finish my nails. WHAT KIND OF OWNER DOES THAT? Basically they did a refill with clear powder and painted over with nail polish (WHY). I ask the man who replaced her how to ask for colored powder because thats what i wanted and i obviously wasn't clear about it. (Im taking some blame for the situation) the owner then comes up arms crossed with a huge attitude about how i asked for this and blah blah blah. Even has her daughter chime in from across the room to let me know what i asked for. Mind you, i was just trying to figure out how to ask for it correctly. I was fine with taking the loss that day. But the attitude was completely unnecessary. She then grabbed my cell phone off the table moved my chair and told me to go to the drying station. My nails were coated with so much polish after sitting under the lamp for 10 min they got gummy and smeared on my way out. I was so upset i didnt even turn around. I just went to walgreens to buy some polish to redo it myself. AND I DIDNT EVEN WANT ANY POLISH IN THE FIRST PLACE. Now i have to pay for a full set because of what they did to my nails. None of them are the same length or width. I'm new to the area and was looking for a go to nail salon. This establishment lacks professionalism and hospitality. I will NEVER be back and i don't recommend it to anyone unless you enjoy being talked to like you're incompetent. read more

THIS IS THE WORST NAIL PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! I went and tried it because my friend begged me to go. The old lady that "attempted" to help us was loud, rude, obnoxious, and she did a HORRENDOUS job on my nails. I got French acrylics and one broke off within 2 days. I got them done on a Friday, it broke off Sunday afternoon. I needed them done for the Home Depot internship I was starting that Monday, so I was extremely pissed. Needless to say, I called and made sure that she knew just how bad of a job she did. I'm reading some of these reviews and wondering if you're talking about a different salon! I've been going to Nail Express in the Highland Plaza Shopping Center for over 20 years and was just there today and there is NO WALL between the facilities, nor has there ever been! There are at least 5 nail stations on one side of the salon and a dozen spa massage chairs on the other, facing the nail stations. Also, Tom and his wife have always been very cordial and do an excellent job on my nails, plus they keep up to date, installing the best spa massage chairs, TV's for customers, etc. For those of you who wrote such awful reviews, I hope you'll correct them if you WERE writing about a different nail salon! Granted, you may have gotten a nail tech who wasn't that good, but if that's the case, I'm betting they're no longer working for Nail Express! read more

I am very disappointed with this nail salon. I used to come here all the time, but they soon started filing my skin with the electric file and left me with unhappy results. Today I walked in and asked for SNS with a tip. SNS is a new product that uses powder instead of polish and is healthier for the nail, and a tip is a plastic nail extension used on the end of natural nails. Immediately I was taken to a seat for them to get started since there was no wait. They started removing my prior SNS which I had gotten at a different nail salon; this took at least 30 minutes alone. After the removal I was asked if I wanted my nails cut. I said yes, assuming that having a slightly shorter nail would be easier to apply the tip. The man then cut off a majority of my nail leaving me with incredibly short nails. At first I thought it was fine since I would be getting a tip anyway. Then he started working on my nails. He didn't apply the tip I asked for so I assumed he was doing the base powder and then apply the tip since I did not know how he did SNS with tips. A little while later I asked the question, "Do you guys provide tips?". He answered with a "Yes.", and a confused look. I then stated, "Oh, I was wondering because when I walked in I asked for SNS with a tip." and he replied with, "Oh." By then it was too late to apply the tip, so he said he was sorry and that next time he would apply one. I was already upset since I was looking for the tip since he cut my nails, but I just said "okay". After he was apparently done with applying the powder he put a polish on and kept buffing and filing the now powdered part of my nail. I was incredibly confused since my nails appeared sheer and I had picked white. In fact, you can see the natural part of my nail towards the cuticle, and the little bit of the white, short part of the nail he did not cut off. I have been going to Nail Express for the past several months -usually a walk in. I have had good service and good manicures. This past weekend I made an appointment for Sunday -Mothers Day. When I called I asked if they had any appointments -I was told 1,2 or 3. I made my appointment for 1. Great -looked forward to it all day. On Sunday at 11 I got a call from the salon saying they would have to change my appointment -they were too busy since it was Mothers Day -duh that was why I made an appointment in the first place. I was dumbfounded and quite upset. They said I could come in at 4 but had already made plans and their hours interfere with my work hours -that's why I go on the weekends. I was appalled by this turn of events. If my business meant the difference between staying in business and bankruptcy -they would go bankrupt. I will never darken their door again because This type of behavior , especially by a business is unacceptable and I for one will not support this. So if you go here and make an appointment don't be surprised by the phone call saying they are too busy. Fool me once shame on me - fool me twice shame on you!!! read more
