Now I am neither a cheerful mischievous sprite or a petite vivacious woman, but I found a lot to like about the Pixie Nail Spa. Foremost, I like the ability to book online. I like the hours of operation (9am-7pm most days, closed Sunday). I liked that street parking is available (plentiful in the evening when I was there, probably busy on weekends). The spa is bright and spacious, with a lot of manicure tables and pedicure stations. More to like: friendly staff, offers of beverages, quiet (on a week night). Sarah did a great job on my manicure, which still looked pretty fresh from almost 2 weeks ago (thanks Canyon Ranch!). I chose a neutral color and added Dazzle Dry (another thanks to CR). I much prefer this to a no-chip because there are NO drills involved, it dries quickly and it's vegan/gluten-free (not gonna eat it). I think I'll look for dazzle dry in all future manicures. I would like a greater variety of colors in the DD choices, and my manicure was pretty basic. TLDR? 4.5/5 stars

The staff are super friendly and nice, their equipment is updated and clean, and their colors are new and trendy. I came here after searching for the best acrylic nails, and this salon does not disappoint. When I showed her my inspiration picture, she knew exactly what to do and hit it right on the head! The acrylic lasted for a long time with proper care, and stayed even as my nail grew. I opted for OPI's Malaga Wine (there is no better color for transitioning to fall). Lina did a great job. She was detail-oriented. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with another technician (Vicky) was extremely disappointing. During my manicure, three nails on both hands were cut so aggressively that they bled. Within a day, two nails chipped, and the others started lifting from the base just a few days later -- they looked like they were two weeks outgrown after only four days. I called to express my concern, and the receptionist was very sweet and said they'd repair them free of charge. When I came in, however, Vicky denied responsibility, and then someone I believe was the manager told me I'd need to pay to have them redone. I work in customer service myself, so I don't take writing negative reviews lightly. But I had to hire a sitter twice, go out of my way to come back in, and now I'm leaving for vacation with nails that look terrible and were painful from day one. It's really disappointing to feel dismissed after being a loyal customer -- I won't be returning.
